- In this episode, I start making & fixing the finishing touches.
The thwart (or yoke) is between the gunwales, and adds a lot of strength as well as a way of carrying the canoe single-handed. The decks fill in the space between the gunwales at the bow and stern, again adding a huge amount of strength. Since they're a focal point of the canoe, they're made as elegant and decorative as I could manage. The seats hang from the inwales, with M6 bolts which pass through precisely cut spacer blocks.

Andrew, to say it was well done is an understatement. From the filming and music to the interaction of your family throughout was a real lift in spirits. I will keep an eye out for the launch. By the way, I bet your dad is quite a character.
Fantastic! Looking quite beautiful. Wish I could be there for the maiden voyage. I loved the Jonny intro to this episode.
Lovely. Great work as always
Very informative. Thank you. I could count the strips on the canoe to determine the depth of the seats ,but could not figure the fore and aft position. If you please how far is the bow seat from the bow and how far is the stern seat from the stern. Thank you
I have had so much better luck using Titebond III wood glue (water proof) and not epoxy when gluing wood to wood. Also lots of cardboard templates!!!
