Hey Robbie just thought I’d comment, you probably know this as well, but the ej255 is extremely picky, and I’d would highly recommend tuning the car before driving after any mods done to the car. I know many people (including myself 😂) that have blown that motor up just ripping around without a good tune. Love the content, come back to bc we miss ya over here 👍🏻
Loving the content robbie! Subarus are very fussy so just be very careful with any modifications that change airflow in the intake and exhaust, definitely should tune the car. But love to see it dude!!

That's a nice header. Sounds good. Just a few Subaru tips for anyone who sees this, when you're looking for a 2nd hand oil cooler, if it was involved with a bearing failure, don't buy it. It could be clogged. Also, don't do any post-maf/pre-cat mods without a tune. These cars can be very unforgiving

After about 2000miles or so the carbon will coat everything and you’ll get a nice rumble and even a slight v8 feeling from inside the car it’s one of the best things about these boxers

Currently building my dream genesis build, got a BK1 2012 2.0t. installing a widebody, front bumper, wing, carbon hood, and a ton of little accessories. it's about to go over to the paint shop. really exited to see how your second genesis builds come out. a street genny built by you is gonna be sweet. You should check out the "Cuper" style front bumper it's what I'm rocking with and it can completely transform the look of the car. The 1.5 is definitely a lot closer to an equal length than otherwise... If you REALLY wanted to make an unequal but technically "optimal" header, you should consider making the left and right banks equal to each other, but the front and back pairs unequal. So like L1 would be 20" R1 would be 20" and L2 would be 40" while R2 would be 40" or w/e. Oh, and make each pair (front or back) go into a different scroll on a twin-scroll turbo. Should theoretically make a GT350 with long tubes sound, but my testing in AngeTheGreat's engine sim isn't giving me the results it should.

I have a 2005 wrx wagon an have used both headers. From what my tuner says the equal length headers make more power but mostly up top and the uel headers give you a better overall power through the power band especially around 4k or 5k , plus they sound so much better with the rumble. Its up to you on what you want to do with the car.

I don't know much about Subarus but if I remember correctly on those motors there's a dead spot in the stock tune around the middle of the rev range where it'll run lean with intake and exhaust mods. Just FYI!

If you really want to open up your exhaust having a cobb catted downpipe makes the wrx sound so amazing, that header is amazing too!

You should try a lightweight flywheel they make a big difference in the but dyno.
Now you should get it tuned 😉
I wrap my oil filter in heat reflective tape. It increases oil pressure by 5-10psi cause it is not cooking it by being so close to the header causing it to thin.

Hey man, I have a stock STi with a new catback exhaust I installed a couple weeks ago. I get the exact same thing with the whine noise inside but nice sound that isn't obnoxious outside, seems pretty normal when running stock DP and intake. Maybe I'll see you cruising around Ontario ✌

Question! I have a 05 wrx and I plan to get the grimmspeed UEL header also and I've already bought a 2.5 oil pan for it. Do I still have to swap my oil cooler to a sti oil cooler also?
Grimmspeed needs to make a 3 bolt one i would definitely buy one
Also, in a chemical resistant spray bottle mix 50% acetone 50% ATF and it's stronger than WD-40 or liquid wrench vs rust.

I have EJ204 NA engine on SG Facelift Forester streetcar . For NA engine which header is better for performance / fuel efficiency ? EL stock header or UEL header ?

Just change the hks for a tomei. I think you need a Cobb tuner
A tgv delete may help your cold start issue. Tuning is your issue there, I’m not sure about the laws in your area but here I can’t find a tuner so if you do a full delete make sure you have a tune. What I did is I pulled the tgv’s out and removed the flaps leaving the rods and motors, this way the ecu thinks it’s still operating normally and won’t throw codes
