- This is a clip from one of my live meet-ups with the Tier 1 members of my Keep the Blaze Alive Coaching Squad (aka “The Squad”). The Squad has three levels of membership, and we meet weekly online with a 2-hour livestream where I answer questions and tell stories, and the Tier 1 members get two monthly two-hour Zoom calls where we talk face-to-face. I also host two 3-day events per year for my Tier 1 members. Learn more about The Squad at / coachingsquad
“Line up these while squeezing this without disturbing that”…so simple yet so freaking difficult
oh so damn true!!! Kinda like Golfing = easy to learn and very hard to master....
@@jondavidmcnabb Golf is never mastered ⛳️
Simplicity is the key to a happy life..
Simple, but not easy.
Line up these things, squeeze this, without disturbing those. That's all there is to it. 🤣
Pat's teaching philosophies epitomizes the KISS method correctly.
Pack it up boys, lessons over.
Marksmanship complexity, simplified but still fundamentally elusive for the masses. Great video!
If you go back thru pats vids, he's got a lot of info on the subject. He's also got some good books and other media as well. I don't think this was meant to be a training vid, is only 2:39. Not sure what you're expecting out of a 2 minute and 39 second video.......

How Pat MAC Breaks Down The Fundamentals, Is Genius.
I remember this talk well, great to have a refresher.
I could watch pat mac educational videos all day.
Still one of the best classes I took. It changed how I shot and thought about shooting. Strong work Pat.
“Check your work”. What a gold nugget! Thanks man.
Shooting pistols at high levels of competency maybe easily explained but the act of is anything but easy, Pat Mac is one of the best instructors teaching it and I love to hear and see him do his thing! A true legend!
Clear concise and brilliantly presented
Wisdom from a wise man.
Grip is the master. Sights set the pace. Trigger is the servant.
Tier 3: Applying the basics Tier 2: Mastering the basics Tier 1: Perfecting the basics👍

So simple a smooth brain can do it. Great tips Pat!
I needed this today. Better lesson in two minutes than some guys do in an hour!
They say you can tell ones level of mastery on any given topic by how few words they use to explain it completely. Or how simply
Really good way of thinking to have +1 sight pictures.
No nonsense training. Basic dude stuff. 💪🏻
Longtime subscriber and just want to thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and everything else that you do!
Instructing was one of those things I realized I really loved, and Pat is a great instructor.
Straightforward and to the point. Really great teaching!
Marksmanship is simple, not easy. I like the way he puts it here.
Great tips as always brother, thank you for this content! The point about the speed limit is going to be super helpful during my next training sessions. Rock on!
Thank you Pat.
He has such a mastery of the material it is astounding. Like watching a swordsman.
Can’t wait to go back through this in March.
Great content again, less is more. “Sight alignment and trigger control.” I need to find some of your grip demos though…
He recently did a presentation video. It should be near the top of his video list.
This man is a living legend. He needs his own TV network
Thank Pat
Very simply and well presented shooters will retain
Thanks again.
Great instructions
Yes, and yes. Repetition, doing it correctly, is important.
Gold. Thanks dad
Another great video!!
Thank you sir
Great stuff good soul…..get after it patriots!
Outstanding
pat mac modern day hero. keep fanning those embers masculinity making a comeback.
God bless Pat Mac.
Damn I need to spend a weekend in one of Mac's classes.
Pat, you are the man..wish I could afford your course..
simple sage wisdom
Most important things....
SIGHT ALIGNMENT AND TRIGGER CONTROL!
I need a basic course like you provide. Something tells me that the basic course I took where they went over "don't do stupid things" was not enough and I need something more
Good stuff
Still working on my trigger control bro… the payoff has been damn near miraculous! Especially with pistolas
Basic dude stuff. Great 👍🏼 video Mac.
I love all your videos but other than basic dude stuff these are my favorite. Can we get more range videos please sir?
Going to be traveling out east for work. I would absolutely love to learn from this man.
And witness some BASIC DUDE STUFF in person 🤣
Where is he located.
Please do one on safety.
Pat Mac Flavour
Pull this without disturbing these. That's all there is to it. It really is.
Just because it is simple does NOT mean it is easy.
Fundamentals. AKA “Basic Gun Stuff.” 👊🏽 🏴☠️
With sight alignment being the number one issue, wouldn’t a red dot isolate it to just trigger control? Red dot is the way to go imho.

People want to believe that marksmanship is "MAGIC".....it's actually VERY simple. Do the exact same thing, EVERY SINGLE TIME. But, as Pat said, easier said than done. Pat reminds me of someone I knew a while ago.....Robert/Bob Irby......the more I hear from Pat, the more he reminds me of Bob.
As an instructor...pretty rad to hear you tell your people pretty much, verbatim what I tell mine. Thank you for everything brother. CQT Weaponsystems- Dutch #presschecksarefree
Man I'd really love to sign up for one of these courses and travel down, but they all seem to be on Saturdays (Observant Jewish, Orthodox) :(
Fun-da-mentals. Getchusum.
👍
"listen, learn, do". the basics are the most difficult to apply when broken down
Concepts & techniques. Everything you learn starts with why and how.
Faken it! Can you imagine being a E3 and he’s talking like that at the range ?
👍👍
We are the indig.
Pay attention.
When I was BMQ (Canada's basic training), we were taught:
Position and hold should be firm enough to support the weapon without undue physical effort
Sight picture and alignment must be correct
Weapon must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Shot should be released and followed through
It's been 10 years since and I probably butchered some of that but do you think any of those marksmanship principles are outdated or does it all have relevancy still?
You part of the Carolina Redoubters?
But if you practice shot calling, you should only have one sight picture, right?
I don’t understand the site picture
We are given 2 ears and 1 mouth.
Use what we have the most of.
Funda-mentals! Thats all there is to it....
FULCRUM 👍😎
Hot damn... I wanna go so bad... one day!
Passing on knowledge. Basic dude stuff
Simplify Simplify Simplify.
Ronin learns from Pat.
Imagine interrupting this guy while hes trying to explain something to you..
We were given 2 ears and 1 mouth.
We should use what we have the most of.
Just like that, booom! Apprecciating PatMac's vids is basic dudes stuff hah
Good content brother but, checking your work through your sights is done during the shot, not after. i.e. knowing what your sight did during the shot. Did it go low and left or did it rise to the 12 o'clock then present back on target re-aligned and ready to go for a follow up shot. Was it on target when the shot broke or did your foot hit a hole in the ground while moving and move your sights off target as the shot was being fired? Checking your work through your sights is the only way you can accurately call your shot. Follow through is making sure you stay on sights and trigger if there needs to another shot. Just like you said. If one shot is fired there will be two sight pictures. If 6 shots, there will be 7 sight pictures. Food for thought. Or not. Stay safe.
Cup and saucer? Technique from 40+ years ago?
From 80 years ago. US GIs were taught Cup and Saucer for a 2 handed grip with the 1911 during WWII. Now the "Thumb Stack" high grip is taught.
That’s why they’re training
Better than the guy setting himself up for slide bite.
With the proliferation of the internet and "guntubers", it baffles me that ANYONE would attend a PatMac course and still be using the cup-n-saucer or (God forbid) the thumbs behind the slide grip.
Not knocking them, necessarily, they obviously took the course and got it corrected.... But how could you not know???? 🤔
Basic dude stuff..
