Enjoy it! Your first time in Japan is a moment you won't forget. Two things to remember: don't forget to pace yourself, and be aware that you'll have a higher chance of flight delays travelling to Hokkaido from Tokyo during winter. That bowl of ramen I ate in the video was my only meal the entire day I recorded this lol
Loved the video! Awesome take on the voice-over as well. What equipment did you use (mic, camera, lenses, tripods, etc) on your trip? I'm planning what I need to take for my trip in October.
Glad you loved it! This is what I primarily used while on the trip: - Fujifilm X-T4 with Fuji 16-80 zoom lens (for most of the pictures and video), and Fuji 50mm prime for other footage and photos. Shot everything during the day in F-Log, and everything at night on the Eterna Film Simulation. - Insta360 X3 for vlog footage, but recorded audio separately. - DJI Mic for audio. Mainly for vlog audio, but there were some times I would record ambient sound. - Never used a tripod on the trip. Everything was shot handheld (lens stabilization on X-T4), and I would set down the Insta360 X3 sometimes. I used the Zhyiun Weebill S for the shot with the Buddha, but that's literally the only time the entire trip I used it. It started acting up and I left it in my hotel on Tokyo.
It’s great! My wife and I are off to Fukuoka next year and we’ve decided to document our trip in a similar fashion. Fukuoka, like Sapporo, doesn’t quite get the appreciation that places like Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto do.
Fukuoka was actually one of the places I went to during this trip. It'll take some time to edit the footage, but I was there for half a day, with the other half in Hiroshima
I forgot to mention I used the DJI Mic system to record audio, you can see it clipped on my jacket. Recorded the video and audio separately, then edited them together
I don't go out of my to listen to jazz, but I don't mind it. I wanted to do something different compared to the typical edm and lo-fi hip hop you would hear in travel videos
Going to Japan for the first time in January for a month! Will definitely try to hit up Hokkaido. Thanks for the informative video 🤙🏼

awesome video, felt like I was transported there!
I'm glad I was able to convey the feeling of being there!
Fun video. What did you use to shoot it?
Thank you! I shot the main portions on a Fujifilm X-T4, with a Fuji 16-80 lens, and the vlog sections were shot with an Insta360 X3
@@MirorImageawesome 👍 great video

You say its cold, why not wear a hat keeps the heat in ?
I ended up buying a hat later on my trip. I was in Sapporo only for 1 day, the rest of the trip after this day was a lot warmer
