The bobtails should @ least park 2 trks in a spot to leave sum parking for the Otr Drivers @ the Truckstops

Some truck stops have a separate area for bobtails.

That Kwik Trip in Kenosha has 4 wheelers park there to hold the spots while the truck is away. Also at night you will see vagrants in the 4 wheeler lot. Especially now there kicking them out of the Park N Rides around Milwaukee.

Hey Martin, good day to you, I just ran the interstate 80 route you did in my motorhome and at 60 mph, average gas burn was 10 miles a gal. Every truck out there passed me and I don't care as I am retired. And at the end of the day all the nuts and bolts need to be checked as the house will fall apart if neglected for very long, and that can get expensive almost as fast as those trucks are going !!!!!!

A lot of guys seem to forget that the mega carriers ditched the non aero trucks for aero trucks to increase profit margins. I would love to have a Freightliner Classic but it made more sense money wise to run my T680 and get better fuel milage

Martin, at the end of the day, it don't matter what engine, what truck you have, you got to make money to survive. And you just showed how to make money in this bad economy.
Just watched your current episode, once again great content and love seeing you guys. The green painted parking spots you questioned about at the truck stop r4 drivers that have a bluetooth app for a unload zone. These trucks are equipped with Bluetooth technology that lets whomever know they are there and ready to be unloaded. Keep up the great content and we cannot wait for your next adventure / episode. Great work on the red dash panels Alice. Great video. I'm avg 8.0 mpg with my 579 but we don't run heavy very often. 60k is about it. Thanks for the revenue update Martin. I've been nervous hearing everyone panicing over the spot market and have been holding off on my authority. It's good to hear positive things now and then. Stay safe yall

Lol, If Think About What U Said Bout Slowing Down from 80-90 Mph to Gain More Fuel Mileage in a Hooded Truck that Can Work for Anything From a Sport Bike to a Hybrid Vehicle!! If Get 40 Mpg running 70, Can Get More by Doing 60! Most Persons just Drive and Fill Up but then Wonder Where There MONEY Goes!! I Think Kurt Said in a Video, His W900 hardly ever goes over 65 Mph! He usually does 62-63 in Most Areas! He Did get Up to 70 mph Few times but think just get away from Traffic and Do His Own Thing! Kurt Doesn't Pull Many Steep Grades Just Running Mostly Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Few other States and think He Said Averages bout 6-6.5 Mpg with 43K lbs in Trailer! He's Like U Martin, He Likes Save Some Money on Fuel for Net Profit!! Most Persons are that Way but then U Have Some Don't Give a Junk and Don't See Much Net Profit!! Oo Well! and mostly local using it... when they can rent spots just north and south of that truck stop.... I said something awhile ago to the manager about that and I see nothing has changed...a lot of box truck that haul Amazon

The green spots are for new type of paint for winter. It’s got thawing capabilities supposedly. 🤷🏼♀️ I’m from Iowa and they are ethonel source, so electric crap isn’t on their radar yet

I think the green spots are for the app / monitor to show how many spaces are available. I’m not certain on that, but that’s what I heard over the radio. Take that for what it worth

Yes in 08 this samething happened and fuel was over $4 a gal but todays difference is everything sky rocketed in price not just fuel. When i was running in 08 i survived no problem bc i wasnt paying $20 for a cheeseburger or $ for a snickers. (These are examples). Love the vids. Been a sub for a while. Be safe out there. I love my cat powered 379, but with the way shits going I'm tempted to buy a 386 with a series 60 under the hood to drive instead of the 379 to save on some fuel.

If you can do the same or similar trip in the W9 to compare the numbers that would be good info. I am learning to tune these things and one thing I have learned from cummins engineers is these are high rpm motors and by changing my driving style from 1300-1600 rpm hauling an 8 axle 130K loaded trailer to 1650 rpm sweet spot to 1900 I have gained almost 1.5 mpg going from 3.5-3.8 to 4.5-5mpg depending on terrain. This is on a 870 fresh inframe with 50k on it. They state anything under 1500 rpm while loaded is lugging the motor and is why you see the auto trans trucks getting rebuilds at 5-800K. Have you heard this before and/or does your decades of real world experience with these motors match what the engineers claim?
My 871 at that rpm would be out of breath. I think lugging these is below 1350rpm. If I cruise my 871 above 1450 I lose mpg. The x15, no power past 1500rpm, feels like it’s gasping for air. Running that heavy may work for you though because you’re in the higher HP power band.
The green spaces are actually iowa rest area's version of reserved spots I've read somewhere that iowa is putting in reserved parking spots at rest area's I don't know how you'd pay for one of those spots but I'll never pay for a rest area spot

Green is test paint. There are signs or use to be markings saying what they were. Think they put them down 5-6yrs ago. They don’t look too healthy anymore.
