Easy way to fill cracks in concrete using ConSandtrate!

- Checkout this DIY dry crack filler for concrete or other paved surfaces. This material fills in small cracks really well and is easily manipulated since its is a dry sand consistency. It was very easy to apply I am very happy with the results. Just make sure you do your best to clean off the extra material to keep the slight color mismatch to a minimum. Used this stuff this afternoon to do a crack that just started in my patio. I had gotten a tip to use a nylon, drill mounted brush to clean the concrete before starting to clean the crack, used the same brush to level everything out after it set. You can barely tell there was ever a crack there now.

This product is extremely easy to use.
I used it on a 60 year old garage with over 50’ of various cracks. I used it and felt it was so much easier than the elastic type crack repair products.
In order to use the caulk type sealant and make it look good , I taped off the entire crack with frog tape, what a pain. I used this product and it was so much faster and looks better .
You can control the depth and width of the repair better with this product.

I'd use a damp rag to clean off the excess before spraying with water or youre going to get staining around the crack .

I bought some stuff from Lowe's in a bucket that's similar stuff. I sweep it in and mist it like you did. I do notice that after a while, it may crack again. If you use Lime Away in a spray bottle and hose it out, it'll adhere much better.

I just used a similar product for my rooftop. Very good. My roof is no longer pouring and I haven't used sealer yet. I used a grinder to open the cracks and a vacuum cleaner.

Sounds like a better product than Quickrete which has a dark gray finish as opposed to concrete color and you have to throw any left over because the liquid and solid contents begin to harden and separate once the bottle is opened.

Hi, It looks like a great solution👍🏻. I have cracks in the driveway getting too close to our house and its foundations, I might resurface the concrete after that. I found this same product directly from ConSANDtrate website in a smaller quantity (2lbs) for $14.95 + $10.50 shipping (to California), still cheaper than amazon and the slightly smaller container might be easier to use, plus amazon have enough business👋🏻

Thanks for the video. I have a cola colored stain so I believe the brown is what I will order. It looks like a close match. I have a small crack about 40 inches. I believe this product will be the solution?

I have the liquid stuff and will try that and sprinkle sand for texture and on the other bigger cracks, try your recommendation. If hole too big I will use backer stuff.

I had the same thought using straight dry cement powder ,tap it in with a hammer and spritz on top .
This stuff is a little different, it remains flexible once dried, unlike cement. Thanks for stopping in!
Tapping with wood or a deadfall hammer as your filling the crack will help it get to the bottom

Quikrete concrete crack seal, 1 Qt. bottle. Just shake a bit and pour. Before I used this product, I took my small concrete grinding wheel to open up and clean out the cracks. Then I used my yard blower to clean out the debris from the crack. Last, I hosed down the crack and let it dry out for a day. Lowe's & Home Depot this Quikrete product. Easy to use and works great.

No way dude thats my dads! I use that stuff all the time for my driveway expansion joint business and for best use i always put sealer on top to prevent water flow even more

What’s your opinion on filling control joints? Do you think it’s necessary since it allows water to reach the substrate? What filler would you use if so?
I personally think they should be filled. Mainly because we experience freeze and thaw cycles in our area and water penetrating the cracks and freezing can cause "some" harm. Alot of people do not do this and have no real issues for the life of the structure. I also prefer it as it keeps ants and anything else from filling in the gaps. I am trialing both this product and an epoxy based filler to see what I think works best. For large gaps, use a foam backer rod before final filling! Thanks for stopping in

I literally have a HAIR line crack and i think a powder fill will be best. Will this product fill HAIR lines?

My use of liquid was a mistake. Filling and hardening does not occur. Never tried dry but shall.

Did you use ReRod when you poured your concrete. I did and still got some hairline cracks. I'm hoping they don't get worse with the ReRod holding it together. Your thoughts?
Yes, my driveway was poured 6" thick with #3 rebar. Rebar won't keep it from cracking but it will keep the slab together and provide structural strength to support heavy loads, provided the concrete was mixed and poured correctly. Generally speaking concrete does 2 things, gets hard and cracks. What you hope for is that the crack will "break" at the cut control joints, which obviously doesn't always happen. As long as the cracks are harmless curing cracks and not structural they should not get much worse. If you live in an area that has freeze and thaw cycles you might consider trying to seal the crack to keep moisture out. Hope this helps and thanks for stopping in!
Can this be stained and sealed with acrylic type products?

Shouldn’t the driveway be under warranty by the installer?-unless you did the work yourself, of course.
Concrete does 2 things, gets hard and cracks, cracks are inevitable. I don't know any concrete contractor who would warranty shrinkage or curing cracks like this. Ideally the control joints is where this would happen but you can't always control what the concrete wants to do. If it were settlement, structural or surface delamination it would be a different story. Thanks for stopping in!

i bought the filler but there was just a cap. not a nozzel. I'm not sure how to use the product without a small tip on the container? Thanks!!
I'm confused why there was no nozzle with the bottle, maybe they accidentally didn't send it? I'll have to look on Amazon but I don't remember there being an option without a nozzle but maybe they added one. You could use an old restaurant style ketchup bottle or or something of that nature, you really need a narrow tip to assist in the application of the filler. Thanks for stopping in!
Did I miss the step about mixing the product with water? I.e. mix it within the product container? In a separate pan?? And the ratio of water to product????

I was not paid to advertise it i legally have to disclose that, I bought the product with my own money. So far it has worked out well and am happy with how easy it is to apply.
@@k6outdoors Then I'll give it a try then. We just bought a new home and there are nasty settlement cracks in the garage. I'm sure it will work out well, especially since it is inside the garage away from the elements.

@@CP-nf9my In the age of Rome, they used a different composition of concrete, that "heals" its own cracks.
We have lost the knowledge of how to make that, somewhere along the way to this age, but I seem to remember an article a few years ago about someone having cracked that code.
If I'm not mistaken, it contained some type of quartz sand and lime, that can seep or crystallize out of the structure and cure. I suppose on contact with the air, without knowing. But the ancient Roman structures have the ability to automatically fill in cracks, to some extent, which I find absolutely fascinating.
