Don't you think they have tried, it's not easy to write an original awesome song like this. Just coming up with the lyrics of a great song is the easy part, it's finding the write chords, melody, etc... Not saying that writing awesome lyrics is easy, it's just not as difficult as the production. That's why almost every great song has a melody first, and then the artist will fill in the blanks with the lyrics, not all, but most.
