My dad took me and my brothers to see Candlebox when we were very tiny, I barely remember it. What I do remember is this two-track cassette that he got from the show that we jammed for my entire childhood. This song and Far Behind were on it and we’d blare it in the truck and scream it. Of course me and my brothers didn’t really have the meaning back then, but we LOVED Candlebox ❤️

I'm glad you got around to reacting to Candlebox. They are my top tier bands ever. I've been going to loads of their concerts over the years. In fact, I'm seeing them in September when they come to Nashville! Kevin is awesome to hang out with.
They have many many good ones spread throughout all their albums, but 'Miss You' is one of my favorites cause it's about his dad who was in WWII.

Singer Kevin Martin says the song was written about him giving up addictive drugs when he turned 18 because he saw the destruction it was causing his family as he was stealing money from his parents to feed his addiction. Martin said he went to see Midnight Oil in concert one night and their singer, Peter Garrett, forever changed his trajectory.
Jamal, if you dug Candlebox's two anti-drug tracks, then definitely seek out 'Change,' 'Cover Me,' 'Simple Lessons,' and 'It's Alright.'

Thanks so much for for reacting to this specific song. Not many people in my country have even heard of this band. I was completely lost and angry in my late teens and this song and Weak by Skunk Anansie got me through a very dark time in 2000. I only just found your channel about a month ago and I recently had a migraine that lasted 16 days. Thankfully, I am coming out of that crushing pain now, but I have missed music so much (due to the extreme sensitivity to any light and sound). You don't know how essential music is to your soul until it has been denied due to illness. ❤️😃
