Got fully kitted out for squid fishing after this by AFW (Brilliant service from the guys at AFW, setting me up) and caught my first squid at woodman point a couple of days latter!! Hey everyone, I'm kinda new to Perth and recently tried to started on fishing. I've tried a number of places (dawesville cut/narrows bridge/south mole this morning) and come back with nothing. Could I have a few tips/metro areas to try fishing/catching squid? Planning on trying: Claremont jetty point walter jetty Narrows' at night North Mole Cottesloe beach?
Gday Mark, you've definately moved around and thats going cause those spots are good ones. Just keep at it cause its been tough lately out there. A good spot would be new the maritime museum in Fremantle at the end of the warf, it holds a few squid and herring most times. South mole is also a good spot for squid but with bad weather it shuts down very easy. Goodluck mate and keep fishing!👍

Some do that, i prefer fluro cause its easier to tie the snaps on and if the squid are picky, they cant see the line as much as aposed to the braid. Cheers mate
Hello Dom why don't you eat butter fish they seem to be the only fish i catch in abundance, i went out last sunday in the sound Pimelia Bank and got seven good size squid, AFW did a squid info nite at CPBA last nite that was very good, you should have a catch and cook on beach chook the other day we could have found something they're good for. How did the ABC talk go. As usual great work.
Ive eaten Butterfish and they are not bad but when Im going other stuff they can be anoying. Oh cookup on the beach with the chook!.. if i was in survival mode maybe👍😁

Enjoyed the video Dom.. why do you not just tie the rig with braid..instead of a leader.. because of sharp rocks cut the braid..

that’s always how it seems to be dom. one side of the moles waters always clear as glass and the others as clear as mud
So true! Im still surprsied to see the River so clear, even after all these rains we've had lately👍

Off the shore I use less lighter jjgs and color is personal choice but white yellow and orange are great
