I think that as we age we realize that life is about managing the crap that comes down the pipe to us. Marriage breakdown is the number 1 thing that impoverishes women in later mid life. Good that you learned as a younger woman that you can never depend on a man and that - if married - your wealth can be halved in a moment. It’s a hard lesson but I saw three friends ruined in their 50s when it is hard to make back that half of their wealth. It sucks but you have time to replace what is lost - and that’s a positive that comes out of a crap circumstance. In time, you will grow stronger as a financially independent woman. And if you weren’t already on a FIRE journey this year would have been worse. Give yourself credit for having built a cushion. I’ve been on CZcams for ages. I have only 150 followers even with over a hundred videos so don’t discount your accomplishment. Yay, you! 💖

So glad you are on your way to healing. When I was on my own with 2 kids I too found productive uses for my evenings - no Internet or Etsy in those days so I spent it knitting or baking or jam or pickle making or making cards - so I spent nothing (almost) on birthday and Christmas presents!
Hi Nicola I’ve never commented before but I just wanted to say having been in your situation whilst unknowingly nearly having my home repossessed…… ex had stopped paying the mortgage without telling me ! Your doing amazingly, your clearly an fabulous mum and it’s been a shocker of a year for you, you can do this and as I have been even happier than you were a year ago. I’m now 12 years past that and super happy, married to the love of my life. What Im badly trying to say is take each day at a time, breathe have a coffee 😂 and one foot in front of the other. I hope 2023 is your year to find happiness and health and a little money also lots of love S xxx

Let them do them and you do you but as soon as you get a single subscriber your a you tuber, you have someone out there who is waiting for your next video be proud of your achievements don’t excuse them by saying it’s not as much as other people your doing great allow yourself to enjoy your success
