Erkin Şahinöz Academy Founder, Strategic Management Consultant, Former Research Director of the US Central Bank Fed
Born in Istanbul, Erkin Şahinöz completed his undergraduate education at Boğaziçi University, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He first completed his MBA at the University of Nebraska in the USA with a scholarship, and then completed his master's degree in economics at the same university. Şahinöz was awarded the most successful young business person award in the state of Nebraska in 2002. He started his professional career as a Research Assistant in 1999, and worked as a strategic management and finance consultant to banks and real sector companies at the Business Development Center, a national consultancy company of the USA, between 2000 and 2002.
In 2002, he was transferred by the US Federal Reserve (FED) as an economist. He was promoted and appointed as the Director of the Economic Research Group at the FED, thanks to the financial model he developed using options that predicts interest rate changes in central banks. He returned to Turkey in 2007 and established the Strategy Coordination and Business Development department at Arıkanlı Holding, which includes Yurtiçi Kargo.
In 2009, he was appointed as the Türkiye General Manager of Erste Bank, Austria's largest bank. By establishing its Turkey operations from scratch, it has provided services in investment banking, acquisition and merger areas to local institutional investors and London-based foreign investment funds. He has managed the corporate finance and public offering processes of many companies. Şahinöz is a columnist in many national magazines and newspapers, especially Dünya Newspaper. He also regularly comments on national TV channels.
Erkin Şahinöz, who is an independent board member of many institutions, also provides consultancy to companies in the real sector in the fields of strategic management, corporate management, digital transformation, branding, financial management, export market research and 4.0. He also attends around 450 events a year as a speaker on the topics of neuromarketing, disruptive technologies, human decision moment, economy, financial management, risk management, digitalization, blockchain and branding.
