All three have certain abilities that the other does not, I ended up getting the same heat sink that was on my Maxx, to put on my Hoss, the motor gets a bit warm for my liking, on 3s only though, just added protection is all, ONE CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THE FASTEST NAME IN RADIO CONTROL 😎

when the lock down hit i decided to get back into rc after being out about 10 years ,i overhauled my stampede ive owned since 04 and bought a xmaxx a maxx and another pede for my daughter ,wife and me ,our maxx is the only truck that hasnt broke ,we bought the wide maxx for it and it hasnt needed it but our trucks have never been drivin on the street just silt mud and dirt out here in az ,listen to this man if your on the fence the maxx saves you down time and money ours has only asked for another fresh charged pack while our xmaxx and pede have ate up about $300 in new parts in a year .

Maxx all day man 👍 I hate saying it because it's Traxxas 🤣 The 1/8 revo diffs, biggest 1/10 shocks I have ever seen and the 4s capable 50+ mph electronics do make it worth the money. I was able to get a used one with the Traxxas link and the light kit for $480 so I would just be patient and find a nice used one. The Maxx is the most durable stock RC that I have, and I have had alot 😜

It's not broke with the stampede 4x4 vxl in my point of view. The only thing I've had break is 1 of the rear cv shafts which I upgraded as a pair. Since the fluids have never been checked after 6-8 years of owning it I decided to get new differentials for the front & rear & Im also about to upgrade the steering bell crank servo saver as an assembly.. I enjoy tearing up grass and gravel with them pro line tires. The max is pretty freaking bad ass but too wide and/ or big for tighter conditions like the streets or parking lots.

I gotta say, I have owned a decent number of trucks at this point including the original redcat kaiju, kaiju ext, Bigrock, Typhoon 6s, Tlr 6s, Talion exb 6s, Slash Vxl, awd and 2wd and scx6, trx4 and of all them, the Hoss has been my favorite. So much so that either the MAXX or Sledge will be bought in the next few days. (STILL DECIDING). ALSO am completely addicted to these things right now but that is another story. Regarding the Hoss, I put in a slightly bigger than stock 17 tooth pinion and this thing is hitting 51 mph which is faster than I thought it would be. It is hitting speeds 6s vechiles struggle to hit in a 3s package so I find that pretty impressive. NO overheating either with this 17 tooth pinion and this despite aggressive driving on road and off. Not to much of a surprise though given it is not that much bigger of a pinion. Still alot of performance on table given it can accept up to a 23 tooth if I am not mistaken. I am sure I will be just as pleased with the v Maxx or Sledge if not more so.

Stock I would have to say the Max and the x-max are the best. I have all of them but I have an extremely modified emax. Mostly supermax parts and I've never been close in losing a race with that thing. I got lucky too I paid maybe a quarter of what that thing was worth because it came with the large order online. I probably paid $500 for a $3,000 truck. It's extremely bulletproof and almost impossible to control with anything more than four cells. The x-max is my absolute favorite though just because of the size and it throws the most dirt. I got into RC cars when I was little and dukes of hazard was my favorite show. But if you want one but you don't mind putting a decent amount of money into that'll still be the best nothing's beat my tricked out emax. But if you tried to copy mine it would cost you more than five grand so that kind of eliminates that. The biggest problem I have with all of them is finding an alloy chassis. If they had a good decent price alloy chassis for the x-max and the max that would be awesome

I had to get the Maxx. The Stampede is a mess it handles like ass and basically spends more time in it roof then anything. The Hoss is actually not a bad truck, it's just very over powered and needs better driveshafts and shocks out of the box. The Maxx on the other hand does everything better. Out of the box it needs to least work and basically is fine. You can get the wide Maxx kit but I haven't needed it. I think the Maxx drives just fine.
On a side note the Hoss really needs to sell for $450. It's not worth the $480 traxxas is asking. It's basically a rustler 4x4 with sledgehammer wheels a taller chassis and a bigger motor with a center diff.

$550 for a tekno truggy? is that before or after you add the mandatory wheels, tires, motor, esc, servo, and receiver that are not included? If after, please let me know where I can buy one!

I'm gonna be that annoying guy. But I really think the Arrma granite is such a great deal these days.

An argument could be made with the stampede and hoss but definitely not the maxx

@@Joe-no5dj Agreed the Maxx differs by being another beast, but it is also around 180 dollars more. But we'll worth the extra cash :).

Stampede 4x4 Vxl is absolutely trash. A total waste of money. Anything at all would be better. Had one broke everything. All I did was drive it around the neighborhood and jump through some mulch beds and off curbs. Ran hot, cannot run it on 3s. Period! Will run hot and break everything even driving easy. Tires are terrible, body is thinner than Saran Wrap. Body mounts break, wheelie bar sucks, axles snap, Hex’s strip, shock oil is thinner than water, shock shafts bend. And then the price you pay? Then all the upgrades? Rc’s are supposed to be fun not an investment. Went to Arrma and never looked back. Until the X-Maxx came out. Then I couldn’t see spending $1,200.00 on a rc car and walked away. Sure Arrma trucks aren’t perfect, but at least they cost less to start with. And are already better than the Traxxas competitor stock. Sweet comparison though. Really like the Maxx, just can’t even deal with it having plastic axles and having to buy a wide track kit that should have came on it. Especially for $580.00 msrp. You can buy a Kraton 6s for less? I have one. Total beast once some slight tuning is done. But thumbs up on the video!

Just replace chassie (need the Hoss shaft) with Hoss on your old Stampede and HD driveshafts as they break (I replaced everything with HD as it broke except for chassie witch i got the Hoss for future bigger engione). After frying the old ESC replace with the 4s. Tires get worn I got Louise MT-Pioneer for my Stampede and Traxxas bigbore shocks and now I have room for the longer 540xl engine. It became a fun truck and handle like a dream compared to stock. If the 540xl engine trash the drivetrain so be it.
