I feel like that doesn’t make sense multiverse wise since every pony has a counterpart so why is only sunset her own being. Even twilight has a counterpart when I feel like it would make sense if she was instead completely differently like how the magic of friendship is like a type of reborn (the first mane6 being star swirls friends, 2nd generation twilights and so on)

They brought Starswirl back. He's not dead. Sunset shows up unexpectedly at a big party in Ponyvile (in the comics) where she performs with a band we'd never been introduced to. It's entirely possible that the human Sunset has been in Equiestria the whole time.

This is interesting but someone else commented that human Sunset could be in the pony world. I agree that Sunset could've been one of the teachers protege as she was Celestia's student in the pony world so maybe Sunset vanished into Equestria? I think that would be so cool.
I know this isn't the original account and stuff, but I didn't realise this when I watched it before, you know how there's that theory that sunset shimmer is sunburst's sister? if they lived in the pony version of sires hollow, then they would probably stay there, because sunburst and sunset shimmer went to canterlot to learn magic. in the human world, they wouldn't have had cutie marks or magic, so they probably wouldn't have moved. this also kind of works because we haven't seen an equestria girls version of sunburst either, or starlight glimmer, and we know from the show that they were separated because of sunburst's cutie mark.

This made me made my own story. I also read about the elevator ritual. I made a story where a character meets the girl, and she turns out to be her alternate self. It would be sooo amazing to see counterparts talks with eachother
So there HAS to be an original human Sunset, think, no one other than Twilight ever went to the human world (excluding Sunset and Starswirl) and every pony has a human counterpart there regardless. It also seems some dates are intertwined, as Applejack lost her parents in both worlds, Twilight is a nerd in both worlds, Rainbow is an athletic challenger in both worlds, etc.
I thought maybe Sunset got involved with… shady business- but that was proven wrong, since I KNOW any legal figure would have taken notice of the new Sunset. Then I thought- what if her pride and ambition drove her to travel the world, before Sunset ever arrived? We see Canterlot, but what if human Sunset is out of that city, region, etc. and off doing other things? She could be a sort of traveler.
Maybe she’s also a nerd, older than Twilight since we see her get banished before Twilight was a student, so maybe she’s an adult who’s successful, or just an average scientist striving for more?

My headcanon is that there Sunset was originally from the human world. Her parents car broke down outside CHS as they passed and as they waited for a tow truck. Three year old sunset tried climbing the horse statue but fell through the unknown portal unseen just seconds before it closed. All the human search parties found no sign of her. Cut to equestria. Celestia finds sunset in the mirror room ( a room magically sealed to all) as a foal and ends up raising her, but never told her the truth of her origin ( maybe put a memory block similar to what professor x did with Jean great)
This is the Sunset Shimmer since Equestria but now human when reflected to another world.
Given the situation with human Sunset, I have a theory of my own: what if instead of being a bully, human Sunset is surrounded by bullies. Just like Sci-Twi was surrounded by rude, social recluses. Sci-Twi was also driven to her evil form through pressure, so since pony twilight never had an evil form, maybe this one doesn’t either.
She probably still has issues making friends, and is all around cynical of the idea since she’s surrounded by bullies, and maybe she’s just neglected all around. Pony Sunset’s presence in her world doesn’t make it better, and while she doesn’t outright antagonize anything since she just wants to live her own life, she does resent our Sunset.
There was going to be a MLP equestria girls movie that was going have sunset’s human counter part involved, but alas they scrapped the whole story.

I think i read somewhere that they were going to do something like when Pony Sunset went to the human world somehow Human Sunset got sent somewhere to the Pony world.
I have a theory/headcanon that the human world actually didn’t exist before Sunset get into it. I think the mirror wasn’t linked to another world at first but when Sunset used it the first time, it magically create a alternate world that was a "copy" of Equestria but with slight differences (they’re human instead of ponies there is no magic, well not really, there is some magic from Equestria that enter it from time to time). Since this world is a copy of Equestria at the time Sunset enter its, it explains why Twilight wasn’t friend with the other main 6 here, since it happens before she met them for example. And Sunset doesn’t have an human counter part because she wasn’t copied in the process, since she was not at Equestria when it happened. This theory also answer to the question Applejack asked in Rainbow Rocks which never get answered in canon: Why the sirens appear now if they where banned by Starswirl 1000 years ago? The answer is that Starwirl didn’t send them to "another world" but instead they were like in the void , and they teleported in the human world only when Sunset "created" it using the mirror, then they were powerless until the events of the first movie which lead to some Equestria magic appears (speaking of that, the sirens doesn’t have human counterpart either, for the same reason as Sunset). Same with magic artefacts we see in the Equestria Girls series, that all were long lost artefacts from Equestria and suddenly they appear here.
My theory is that Sunset is the connection between the human world and the pony world. I guess it would make sense considering the magic from the pony world is still in the human world. Sunset would be the “portal” for the magic to travel through because of the power she has. If this theory was true, then it’d be safe to say Sunset doesn’t know about it considering if she did she would use it to her advantage against Twilight when she became a demon. Since she thought the magic came from the crown itself she didn’t think about it when she put it on her head but, would it have reacted the same if anyone other than the main six? Since the magic from the crown was pink and not teal, It had to have been the magic she acquired back in Equestria when she was a unicorn. Considering, Twilight isn’t there to be the Harmony between the five, Sunset is and If she’s the outlet of the magic in Equestria, It explains why the girls can still “pony up”.
I think that the pony sunset is the daughter of celestia who replaced the human sunset, who was a bully (as shown in the prom photos and yearbook) why would someone leave being a bully for so many years? The pony sunset had something different in her heart, cause she was a student of celestia.Proof also in forgotten friendship, at the end, sunset forgot her time in the human world and was upset and confused looking for celestia. I think celestia sent sunset there as an experiment, because she trusted her and believed that sunset was strong enough to handle it. That explains why celestia and Luna have a mirror and know about the world, sunset shared knowledge with them. How can a prized student go bad and then turn good, so good that she might be a little more powerful than twilight (pony) in the human world shown in rainbow rocks that the band needed her and she discovered the problem with the sirens and found solution. She was living as the human sunset, who was a bully so no one suspects that she was different. Sunset took the crown on purpose to sent celestia a signal to sent twilight. celestia probably wanted to teach twilight important lessons when she was ready. That also explained why sunset has a shared book with celestia, she told information about the world and the school. Sunset remains to keep order which is why she never goes back living in equestria. The human sunset was replaced because she was probably opened the portal and this process took her life and pony sunset stays to keep the order and anymore dangers from happening. Explains why swi twi was interested in the portal and sunset was most worried about it. She was scared if something happens to pony twi, which was effected, after the credits, pony twi comes and tells that she was trapped in time or something.
Sunset shimmer comes from the end of the Era of Celestia searching all of equestria for students. Sunset had no friends in canterlot and likely had not grown up there. She's not one of the ponyvill unicorns meaning she could have been from anywhere... Vanhoover to baltimare. Now sunset was also a student... she did her studies and it wasn't really inpatients that caused her problems but her nasrsisitic tendencies and quest for power.
On earth, i could picture her being on either coast, California, New York, or baltamore. and it wouldn't be music for her studies... oh no. It would be Politics. The expectation of manipulating and gaining power, with hopes of one day... climbing the ranks to president. at the current age in the series, she's likely School president. She's not "joiner", but likely has "groups"s he runs for different political goals or causes, that she can weaponize. her short term goal is to get into a Col or Uni once she graduates and then going into Political sciences with a minor in liberal arts.

Here’s my theory:
Human Sunset Shimmer used to go to Canterlot High, but left to transfer to an elite school far away, just like pony Sunset left Celestia’s school to seek power. At the same time that human Sunset left, pony Sunset came to the human world and basically everyone assumed she was the same person. This would make human Sunset a good foil to Sci-Twi, who transferred from an elite school to Canterlot High to seek friendship.

Well while I admit that maybe the theory of human sunset Shimmer secretly trading lives to live in different worlds would be interesting, to me that wouldn't really make sense as seeing we don't even hear about a human sunset Shimmer being in equestria.
Maybe this other human sunset Shimmer lives a different life entirely to the one pony sunset does. Maybe she could be successful but not to the point where she is well known. We can't generalize that human sunset would have turned out like pony sunset because even pony twilight and human twilight were pretty different from each other. Human twi was more like Fluttershy since she was Timid, shy and u confident from herself even though she was very smart.
So maybe instead of being too proud and lacking humility, maybe this other sunset was humble and patient, not arrogant like how pony Shimmer first was.
Maybe she just likes to keep a low profile and it's why we haven't heard much about her. But as someone else states in the comments, since the comic showed another sunset Shimmer playing in a band, maybe that's where she is and it's why she's not mentioned in the show?

I once read this other theory that the reason why Sunset doesn’t have a human counterpart was because Sunset serves as a gateway between the 2 words. Since she most likely brought magic through with her from Equestria when she first arrived in the equestria girls universe, but Twilight was the one to properly activate it. So yea I think that’s why Sunset has no human counterpart and never did (just my opinion tho)

@@VenomousRandy he was falsely accused of grooming a minor. I think his story is still up (and the girl’s side of the story). The real tragedy is that everyone bullied him into thinking he did something wrong when he didn’t do anything wrong if you look at everything that happened factually.
He took down his channel because of it all.

Sawtooth was outed for grooming a minor a few years back. While Sawtooth didn’t have malicious intention from what we’ve seen, they still did it and caused damage to the minor. The minor came out with their story of this all with evidence and all. Sawtooth then *admitted* it was all true, and told people to not defend them, and then wiped their channel. Moral of the story is that Sawtooth EXPLICITLY stated “do not defend me or my actions.” Toastify made a good video going over this situation.
And to the other guy- Please stop defending them. Don’t call it false accusations. A minor was hurt. A victim was made. Sawtooth told you people to not defend them. So please don’t. You make it harder for victims to come out about their trauma because of this.

Personally, I like the first idea of her not having a human counterpart, as Sunset is such a distinct character compared to the Mane Six in either world.
She's also one of the most underutilised of the series and deserves a feature-length movie like the MLP movie with the Storm King, like maybe taking on Daybreaker after some malignant force corrupts Celestia.
We also haven't seen the original human Starlight too.

In Equestria Sunset is Celestias student before Twilight, implying she is older. I heard somewhere that when Sunset arrived she had to pretend to be younger to learn how to live as a Human. Therefore a Human version would be older and maybe at Uni or some other higher education facility somewhere, not interacting with so much younger children
