    Very helpful. With the iron on low heat, this will work for my nylon puffer packet. Thank you!

    Use extreme caution when using an iron on nylon fabric!! That shit melts if you just look at it funny. Either don't do it or put a dampened pressing cloth (towel) between the nylon fabric and the iron. And for God's sake, set that iron on LOW and press it for a count of 2- one two
    repeat if necessary
    Yikes

    From the video, what was used was NOT iron on interfacing, but iron on mending tape. I don't think the adhesive on interfacing would hold at all.

      Hi! I am glad that you can find many of different kinds of the interfacing. Here we only can find one or two. The interfacing you need looks like a plain fabric but with small dots of glue on one side of it. That glue is not sticky but will melt while ironing. Hope I helped.

      @Knate1104
      That is how a woven fabric tears when it gets caught on anything sharp...(imagine your jeans tearing as you try getting over a barbed wire fence) the spot where the puncture occures, then rips the fabric both along the warp and the weft (up and down yarn, and the over & under, right & left yarn.
      That weaving of yarn or thread is done on a loom to create the woven cloth/fabric that our clothing is traditionally made from. These woven nylon fabric jackets use a ripstop weaving technique where every 5-8mm a thicker stronger thread is woven into the fabric. So the fabric is NOT tear or rip resistant but the rip STOPS at the stronger threads. This is why rips tend to look the same or be of a particular and similar size.
