- Super easy way to repair a tear/rip hole in your puffer coat or down jacket any other coat. It's great in case you can not turn your coat inside out. No sew method, clothing hack.

Very helpful. With the iron on low heat, this will work for my nylon puffer packet. Thank you!
Use extreme caution when using an iron on nylon fabric!! That shit melts if you just look at it funny. Either don't do it or put a dampened pressing cloth (towel) between the nylon fabric and the iron. And for God's sake, set that iron on LOW and press it for a count of 2- one two
repeat if necessary
Yikes
Great tip, thanks. Just tore a hole in my jacket, very dissapointing. Nice to see a repair vidoe with regular items. I've got some interfacing somewhere.
Great! Try that! Thank you!
Loads better than the Tosh I've been viewing,I'm hoping I'll find a semester or sewing person who can fix my expensive puffer,I'll show them this .or mention this.
Thanks for this video - our new puppy put a little hole in my sons coat - I will try this for a fix!
Thank you! Hope you fix it easily !
Mikeweglian did it work for u
Just spent 3k on a puffer just to burn a hole
Thank you will try !
😢
This is brilliant - just tore my goose down.
You shouldn't have))
BE very carful using an iron on nylon jackets it can melt them very quickly.
That's true!
Thank you very much for posting. It worked perfectly!
Thank you for watching!
Thanks - worked like a charm!
Glad you did it!
From the video, what was used was NOT iron on interfacing, but iron on mending tape. I don't think the adhesive on interfacing would hold at all.
Maybe)
Thanks
Would a steamer work just as fine as an iron? That’s all I have in my dorm!
It depends on materials, I can't say
Awesome
Do you have a recommended product for my down jacket - 100% nylon shell ??
The same - just try on some hidden place the temperature of your iron.
this was helpful, thank you!
Tq somuchhhhhhh
Great videos!
Thank you!
What should I use to repair my Canada Goose Lodge Hoody?
the same material or fusible web glue. Be cafefull with iron
confused on what you use inside the holes ? When i search interfacing I find tons of stuff. Is this glue substance, or what ? Need to do this but cant find what you used here.
Hi! I am glad that you can find many of different kinds of the interfacing. Here we only can find one or two. The interfacing you need looks like a plain fabric but with small dots of glue on one side of it. That glue is not sticky but will melt while ironing. Hope I helped.
I only looked online, and that's why i asked, so i know for sure what it is. Hard to tell without seeing it in person.
Online is really hard to tell. Try to go to the store and you will guess what I am talking about in seconds! )))

What if the hole is in lining inside a jacket? I can't use interfacing can I?
Can we wash clothes after doing this process?
yes, but very delicately
when we wash clothes it will tore after that. then what should we do.
It's not going to. This glue is not water soluble
Would this work with polyester rain jacket, and at what temperature should iron be on?
I guess it should. But please try it with two dots (wood temperature) somewhere inside the jacket to see if the fabric is fine after ironing.

What type of cloth do you used to stick on T-shirt plz let me know

I have a Kathmandu jacket with a couple tears and it's a puffer jacket, would the iron melt the jacket?
Hi! Try on some invisible part first! Good luck!
My polyester puffer jacket was burned in the iron and has 3 tears/holes in the right sleeve. What can I do if the polyester material won't stretch to bring together the ends of the holes?
Oops - the jacket was burned in my clothes dryer not the iron!
Not sure I can suggest something without seeing
It is very easy to burn your jacket if you have enough heat on the iron to activate the fusible glue. Just read below. Buyer beware!
Agree
I'm in India interfacing is available what would I call in India
buckram
Fabric mending tape its available on amazon
Can the coat go thru the wash after this?
Yes! But wash it gently!
can you send a link of which Interfacing you used
I buy offline
@@KavetroDIY oh do you recommend which one I should get
Will I be able to wash the coat in washing machine after doing this?
Depend on the quality of interfacing you use.
What is a piece name please reply fast
it's fusible interfacing
Hello,
would this work on a windbreaker?
I think it would! Try it in some invisible place.
What kind of glue should be used?
Not a glue but a special fabric with glue on it. You just iron it on.
Iron Machine temperature....?
I use temperature for wool, it looks like two dots.
Kavetro Russian Sewing thanks
The iron ruined my £100 coat... heads up for everyone check the materials of your down jacket before ironing, gotta go get a new one now
You are right! Thank you.
KV....."Thank you" ?! (for what?)
i have a one inch hole on my new jacket, any ideas
Hi! What the material?
What about 100% polyester
What’s the material
fusible interfacing
It'll most likely come off with first wash.
not exactly. May need 3-4 to come off
There is a hole in my sweat shirt I had just bought it yesterday someone help me to make it back to normal😭
Try to put some lace onto it....
Thank you
Will try now
Thank you!!!
My jacket has a tare under the arm quite big 😭😭 do you think its repairable
Any idea how the rip occurred? My daughter came home from school the other day with the exact same rip/tear in her coat, literally identical pattern to what you showed in the video, but she has no clue how it happened
Maybe catched some bush or nail or anything.....Bad things happens....
My coat got ripped from a nail on a staircase railing, it's the exact pattern.
@Knate1104
That is how a woven fabric tears when it gets caught on anything sharp...(imagine your jeans tearing as you try getting over a barbed wire fence) the spot where the puncture occures, then rips the fabric both along the warp and the weft (up and down yarn, and the over & under, right & left yarn.
That weaving of yarn or thread is done on a loom to create the woven cloth/fabric that our clothing is traditionally made from. These woven nylon fabric jackets use a ripstop weaving technique where every 5-8mm a thicker stronger thread is woven into the fabric. So the fabric is NOT tear or rip resistant but the rip STOPS at the stronger threads. This is why rips tend to look the same or be of a particular and similar size.
where can I buy this stuff? ebay? a link would be nice.
You mean the interfacing? I bought it a local store, I think you can find it where you live in some fabric store.
yes the interfacing.I have a tear on my puff coat. It's a small tear, but the stuffing is coming out about as fast as i can put it in.
I searched interface, and Amazon comes up with fusible interface from a variety of makers...I will probably go with the Pellon Ultra lightweight Fusible Interface: smile.amazon.com/Pellon-PLF36-Lightweight-Fusible-Interfacing/dp/B00OEDMZ52/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1517245870&sr=8-3-fkmr1&keywords=glue+interface+fabric

Then
then not than
Sorry, my English is not perfect
"Than iron"?
......
ptanyuh ever heard of a Iron? You know, the things you use to straighten shirts?
.....
Ever heard of the word THEN??? And how to use it correctly in a sentence? Obviously not.....
ptanyuh nvm i thought you were on about the iron bit aight I take it back
Also not sure about What is the question?
@@KavetroDIY One of them was just correcting your spelling as in the video it should just be spelled "then" not "than". They were just being rude about it all. We who are mature don't mind a spelling error. Thank you for the time you have taken to share your knowledge. I have only one winter coat and needed exactly this repair. I am very appreciative, Katerina!
This is not a raincoat!!
