Dentro de la historia de la música colombiana existen anécdotas interesantes. Existen dos versiones en cuanto al origen del Bambuco “El Tigre” del legendario pianista Oriol Rangel:
La primera fue la dedicación de esta obra a su gran amigo Rafael Ortiz Parra a quien apodaban “el tigre” por su aspecto físico y cabello rubio. Ambos se conocieron durante su paso por la emisora Radio Sutatenza.
La segunda versión es algo más impactante: El maestro Oriol Rangel era amante de los animales y tenía gran afición por la cacería de animales salvajes. En alguna oportunidad, consiguió capturar un tigrillo que adopto como mascota por varios años. Un día, al calor de unos tragos, el maestro logro irritar al animal logrando que este le mordiera su mano derecha causando danos importantes. Oriol Rangel, al ser director artístico del batallón guardia presidencial tenía permitido el porte de armas. De forma impulsiva y sin pensarlo dos veces le disparo a su mascota “el tigre”.

There are interesting anecdotes within the history of Colombian music. There are 2 versions regarding the origin of the bambuco “El Tigre” by the legendary pianist Oriol Rangel:
The first was the dedication of this work to his great friend Rafael Ortiz Parra, whom they nicknamed “the tiger” due to his physical appearance and blond hair. They both met each other during their time on the Radio Sutatenza station.
The second version is somewhat more shocking: Oriol Rangel was an animal lover and had a great fondness for hunting wild animals. On one occasion, he managed to capture a baby tiger that he adopted as a pet for several years. One day, in the heat of a few drinks, the pianist managed to irritate the animal, causing it to bite is right hand causing serious damage. Oriol Rangel, being artistic director of the presidential guard battalion, was allowed to carry guns. Impulsively and without thinking twice, he shot his pet “the tiger”.
