I actually just met Tiffany today and she is absolutely amazing! ( I haven’t watched the video yet so idk what she did say but...) She has such a huge heart and auditioned for wicked 7 times and the 8th time she finally heard a yes, she had a bunch of funny little stories like how she told her parents her character’s name was Swing and didn’t know that she’d be an actual swing. also when she was going up in the bubble the first time she was so excited and the crew members were supposed to take a break but they wanted to get Tiffany down before the went on break but she was like “ It’s fine another five minutes won’t hurt me “ because she had waited so long to play glinda.
During this Covid Omicron insanity, I had the privilege of seeing Catherine Charlebois play Nessarose on the tour in Cleveland. I was so insanely surprised and pleased to see her name on the cast sheet that night. It immediately made me think of "Fly Girl".
The amount of parts that those swings know is INSANE. I can learn lyrics/lines pretty well but there's no way I'd be able to learn even 3, let alone 19! x
The fight scene was so awkward and funny! It is really interesting to see how everything looks when there are no costumes, sets, lights, and their voices are not being projected out into the theater.
Ik that this is 7 years late. But that mural didn't exist back with Idina and Kristin. As Derek said, it was only painted once the company that he, Lindsay, Katie, and all of the actors shown in Fly Girl are currently in, started on Broadway. So, it didn't exist until about 2013.

I think the Fight Call Practice for the Catfight Scene was my Favourite Part and Also the Educational Session on what is a Standby in Musical Theatre with Tiffany was fun too
I love that the ensemble parts of Glinda's shoulder friends have names. And they're correct to the book! Well.. at least Shenshen is 100% confirmed. Hoping that the other shoulder friend is named either Milla or Pfannee.
7:11 Carla!!!! OMFG this girl is an amazing Elphie!!! Shes fierce and give ephie anger problems!! Her defying gravity was amazing but her no good dead was to die for!! This girl has AMAZING riffs!! I really hope they give her the role when Lindsay leaves. Love ya Carla!!
I actually got to meet Donna Vivino when I was in New York a couple of weeks ago. I did an improv workshop with her, she was so lovely and talented. It was really cool too, she had to keep her phone on because she wasn't sure if she was going on for Wicked that night. She had been on the night before and her skin was still a little bit green. I'd really love to see Lindsay Mendez though!! This series is excellent!
Whenever Glinda (or ga-linda) twirls her wand or staff in the huge dress during the slapping scene i go into hysterics. I did last night at the theater and everyone was like girl what? It was so fun last night but all day I was tired lol.

A standby is someone who is in wait to play the role for a cast member who is sick, or on holidays. There only job is to play that role. An understudy is someone who is part of the cast (ensemble/ other character) and if both the main actor and standby are absent for whatever reason, the understudy will go on.
The Stand-By pretty much only knows the part they stand-by for, and they can leave during the intermission. The understudy will know, say Elphaba's part, as well as whatever their parts are within the ensemble. So say if the stand-by has left and the Elphaba is injured during the second act (like Idina) then the understudy will take over, unless the stand by is close enough to get back to the theatre. It is basically a double layer of protection. If you noticed through the interviews with the ensemble, there were about 4 people there who could stand in for Elphaba in a moments notice. That is what makes Broadway the gold standard.
Well a Standby is Someone who comes in the Theatre at the Half Hour and Signs in as Usual and their job is to wait backstage if they are needed and a Understudy is Someone who is in the Ensemble and Plays a Main Role.
