J'aime la phrase "C'est comme ça qu'on dit?" - je ne la connaissais pas, mais je vais utiliser ça! Et je connaissais "Ça marche" mais non pas "Ça roule". Merci :-)

Comme habitude, vous avez l'explication parfait pour un question que j'avait. Je viens de retour d'un mois en France où j'ai prendu un cours français. Pas trop en classe, mais partout ailleurs j'entendu répété, les expressions "ça marche" et "volontiers". Je m'ai demandé pourquoi que je ces entendu si souvent, et aussi comment je les pourrait utilise. À bien sûr, aucune surpris, vous avez fourni le repondre ici dans cette video. Merci!
J'utilise cette phrase "Si vous parlez lentement, et utilisez les mots simple, comme je suis une enfant, je vous compris"

C’est comme ca qu’on dit will be very helpful for me to use. I was speaking to a Frenchman and had to show by two pronunciations that I wasn’t sure whether to say the f in cerfs, he was very nice and helpful but this phrase would have been useful. Thank you. I love your videos Geraldine and am trying to catch up with your teaching emails. How do you say ‘I am always busy’? ‘J’ai toujours beaucoup a faire’?

Bonjour Geraldine! Merci bien (ou beaucoup?) pour ce lecon. Moi, je apprecie tellement les petits "tips" sur la langue. C'est tres pratique! Je utiliserais la phrase, "le francais, c'est mon dada!" si je dans un resto, par example. Egalement, "C'est comme ca qu'on dit?" (J'ai un question: je suis confuse a quel temps on utilise "le" with le mot francaise. Je comprend avec "la France" mais..."j'essaie de parler (le) francaise?" J'y remets la belle langue - c'est comme ca qu'on dit? A bientot!

Quand je visite Paris la semaine prochaine, je vais utiliser, "Excusé-moi, pouvez-vous répéter plus lentement?" Souvent, probablement!

Ouais, les verbes sont très difficile. Trop, trop conjugations.

Trucmuche sounds like it could be translated as “Whatchamacallit” which is what we say when we forget a name of something.

un dada... is also babies / very young children word for "a horse".... may be when horses were passion ?

Voudriez-vous d'ailleurs faire conversation régulièrement en ligne (Skype) avec un homme de 76 années, originaire des Pays-Bas vivant en Nouvelle-Zélande? N'ayez pas peur, bien que je peux lire des livres français, je n'ai guère d'expérience en utiliser le français oral.

I use that phrase also indicating that I know I am murdering the French language but I also wonder how it really comes across. Most of the French I have used it on break into a big smile so I am assuming it is not offensive in any way. Well... maybe to Spanish cows...;)

An observation here.
When a foreigner comes to France, it is not good, as you say, to assume that French people would know English, and thus foreigners should communicate that they don't know French IN French itself, for the sake of politeness.
However, when ANY foreigner comes to India, they naturally assume that Indians, mostly all of them, understand English, and they hardly make any effort to communicate in any of the local languages. And India has 22 official languages other than English. And it is not considered impolite if someone does not pick up, say, Bengali or Hindi (because they usually NEVER do) and speaks in English. I wish people from other countries would also make an effort to communicate in an Indian language while telling us that they don't know that language!
