After visiting Bangkok many times, I've finally decided to do it last year with my wife. I am not a big fun of activities designed only for tourists, I prefer to go where there is a mix of tourists and locals, to really get to know a city. However, I must say that the cruise exceeded my expectations, the views are incredible and at the end there is some dancing. Food is not bad for a buffet. Still, if you have only a couple of nights in Bangkok, I would try other things. But for a longer stay or a second or third visit, I certainly would recommend.
After 7 years and 18 visits to Thailand, I decided to do the same boat cruise last week.I'll definitely recommend doing this for the river views especially at night. On the other hand, I was really disappointed by the food. Another great video Jeroen 😊
I've been on the cruise twice for the environment and experience, I knew the food is gonna be bad anyway 😂

Looks like fun! This is one of the reasons why I always stay at The Peninsula. The Chao Phraya is so majestic, especially at night (to me, more special than The Thames here in London). The views of Silom and Sathorn on my preferred 36th floor is amazing, definitely during the ‘golden hour’ whilst the sun sets. From the balcony / terrace I can hear these dinner river cruises and their entertainment, and can’t miss all their bright neon lights! Brings back nice memories.
Nice video. Did you by chance see Steve Cafe (a favourite place even for locals) when the boat turned around just after Rama VII bridge?
Even without rooftop, some cruise boats are so tall that passengers must duck their heads when passing through Memorial Bridge (the first bridge across Chao Phraya river for both foot and vehicles traffic, officially opened in 1932). It's regrettable that we could not see how close the boat ceiling to the bridge's belly.
The level of the River is very high at the moment. It depends on the tide. When we took the cruise, it was easy to pass.

@brownindian5577 It's simply and logic, how can you be far away from other people if the boat is full of people? It's just like you want to have a train carriage just for yourself.. maybe u can do that if you are a princess and you travel with Orient Express.

I made the mistake to book for the New Year Eve, it was expensive, like 120 € / person and the food was really horrible, the worse I had in Thailand. The Philippines singer women was also bad and very arrogant. I would not book again.
The food isn’t good in my opinion. But it is fun to be on a cruise.

It is a matter of expectations. Considering that it is a buffet that feeds hundreds in the many boats they run, I think it is decent. You go in the boat to enjoy the views and have a good time on the deck.
I wonder if Bangkok Thailand ever did have any sleet or snow before.
