The city of Rockwall, TX performed a test of their outdoor warning sirens on the third Wednesday of August 2017, and sounded 3 growls and 2 alert tones that lasted about 1 minute each.
There was a guy outside sitting on his porch right across the street
from were I set up my camera. When the siren did the first growl, he looked right up at it knowing that It was about to sound. When the siren sounded Alert it was very loud even when it was facing away. - Zábava

this takes me back to my traumatized childhood days. i was terrified of sirens when i was little, and storms but now they don't bother me. they replaced these with either T-128s or T-135s i'm not sure which

I knew this one went off last two or three years ago but right now it didn't go this time. I think i know before it went it was 3 growls and then alert. But I tell you what I may do rockwall on the first wednesday to see if I can get the P-10 instead of the P-50.
I love the older yellow painted P-50 sirens.

OWS Crazy1 they are. The yellow ones were the early ones made from 1981 to about 1985 or so when they switched to grey. Then they remained grey until they discontinued making them in 2007

Finally another yellow p50 but the first ones that came out are yellow but this one is a later one this color for it is kinda rare

Over here in Illinois, they are the common grey color.
the reason why most p-50 horns are cracked or chipped is because of the sound out put or the vibration from the sound(you can see the fiberglass horn wiggling when it is at full power)
The Walden channels: yes that is probably definitely why
2 of the 3 P-50s in my area have the horn in decent shape. Only one just started to chip on the bottom right.
The growls get higher each time
When i was Little, I thought i saw a red p50 in Rockwall from what I remember.

I’m not totally sure, they have pretty much only did it this one time. They never really do growls anyway.

I just figured out today, a t-135 AC/DC stands on the pole now.
