I am 62 yrs young my first car when I was 16 was a 1966 Chevy Impala 283 motor it was black 2 door black split bench seat it had a sears air conditioner mounted under the dash . I put my 8 track tape player in it with big stereo speakers on the back seat . I worked for a farmer and paid $60 for it and drove it home . It was in very good shape . Man I wish I still had that car today
Those old refrigerators don't mean a lot to most people, but they really changed a farmers life...much more so for the farmer's wife. A real technological advance back in the day...an even greater impact in Texas and other southern states.
aahh, a Norsk Family.? thats cool. Love from Norway
mange norske etterkommere her. ❤️ fra Amerika
Slow smooth camera work and good informed commentary really rises these videos above 95 per cent of what appears on You Tube. Great stuff. 👍
I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for stopping by Mr. Goodpliers!
Hi! 5:07 dodge! I like it! Cool! And tbirds! Very cool! Nice cars!
It's great to see vintage vehicles are being found on these old farms and are being given a chance to go to a new home. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for stopping by the channel!

I worked on an old Sears garden tractor once. Reunited it with its bucket loader that was two blocks away in the weeds and in pieces. It also had a three point box blade with ripper teeth. Cleaned up the hydraulics, reassembled, reattached and got it all running. Lots of blue smoke from the old 16 horse Tecumseh. Had to hold my breath a lot. The loader worked well, but just barely enough to beat using a shovel.
That's nearly the identical scenario I would picture for this one, too!
Made by Brinley, Sears sold them in their catalog. 16hp was plenty for the hydraulics. People just didn't understand they weren't a dozer. They were fine for snow and cleaning up the yard, what they were made for.
Love the ‘57 Ford body style of the ‘57 2 door Custom 300. I had one back in the later ‘60’s. Wish I had it now. Great video!
Lifetime accumulation. Often it was cheaper and easier park a vehicle and buy a used replacement for $25 to $100. Having the intention to work on them "when you get a round to it." Multiple pieces of farm equipment not only was a backup plan to insure all field work was completed but also allowed more hands to work. Cool relics!
I want Mr. Goodpliers life ! haha
10 out of 10, love these abandoned farm auctions! Great filming too, keep them coming, so much history to see, wish I could have been at the auction, you doing great!
Thanks for stopping in! These are my favorite places to film. I hope to keep finding as many as I can to show you here on the channel!
Like Scott said on coldwar yesterday-parking these cars in the trees just accelerates their rusting.
its funny because I have that video up right after reading your comment I went over and clicked play and I was right at the spot he said that
Funny i was thinking same thing plus classic tyres
Classic Tires get me excited. I love mail call too. Such an underrated channel there.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 i would say theme . Theres some great channels out there but his dedication to near perfection when workin on the metal is superb , very educational an scott should be knighted for his efforts .
I like how we’re all watching the same channels, the quality ones.
Keep 'em coming! It's a poignant view of a lost America. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for taking me along! Hopefully the cars and equipment will find a good home and some TLC. Sadly that farm will soon sprout McMansions :-{
Is there any 1936 Chevrolet 2 door sedans
Only if it is near a population center. Otherwise it just goes back to production to make another farm bigger and more efficient.
@@daleolson7205 Ok ...We just live in different parts of the US.
I enjoy your videos so much I'm a little disappointed when it ends, hopefully the footage you take will be around for others to enjoy 80 years from now.
Thank you so much for your kind words! There are a lot of reasons I want to document these places. I love preserving our country's transportation, agricultural, and regional history on film.
First car I drove to high school was a 48 Chevy sedan. Had a lot of fun in that ole car.
That ‘67 Ford truck is in great original condition! Straight six and manual everything. Those two Galaxies want to bum a ride home with you!
The Roto-Cutter and the first bumpside Ford....yep.
Love your camera work! Thanks for putting a smile on my face! Keep up the great videos
Thank you. Very trippy video.
I wonder how many more old homesteads like this can still be around.
Buddy u r one cool cat. I love ur videos and the knowledge u bring with ur tours r truly educational. Keep these coming brother God bless.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and thanks for stopping by the channel William!
The guy in England would restore the brush cutter, he loves to restore vintage yard items.
The owner had great taste in Ford's
Great video. Thanks a lot for this amazing video
I'm really enjoying your videos, Great Camera 🎥 Work I like the zoom in zoom out that you do.
Nice video to see on Sunday afternoon tanks again,,,,I like the red ford 6 on line 👍😎
That was my favorite truck too! I love 1967-69 Fords; that is my favorite generation of Ford pickups
@@mr.goodpliers6988 is sold ?
Love those old ford trucks.
I really enjoy watching your videos sir and seeing all of the history. All of the people that went through the depression saved everything and got rid of nothing because they would use them for parts or repurpose them. Now days everything is made to throw away and buy new every 5 years
Sure, we all love the old cars. But I enjoy EVERYTHING that's old, love the time you took to cover the appliances and furnishings too.
The barn has been emptied, now what? How often do you see architectural salvage come into play at these auctions?
80 years of history all to be sold to the highest bidder. Kind of sad but some really cool stuff.
I’ve been enjoying your videos for a few months now. I like the history you share and the detailed descriptions of the vehicles and even the property. My only problem is that i can’t seem to find anything like that around here lol
Somehow it is creepy, or its just me and im old... This is why i like that stuff so much, it makes people thinking about humanity and time .
My grandpa had a 49 dodge coronet 4 dr. My dad helped him pick it up (drove from Manitoba, Canada to Wisconsin or Missouri? I forget) Apparently he spent 16k restoring it then died in '87. My dad sort of inherited it while he tried to sell it for my grandma. Took a long time and only got $6500. I still remember the smell of mothballs in it. Crushed velour interior 😂
I can't believe you didn't raise that snack pantry door in the door of that refrigerator outside,at about 19:30. Thats where They hid the rolls of cash!😂
Love seeing those old cars, we had a couple 77 Ford’s Back in the Day when they were new, my sisters had two different years of pintos also, one was round headlights the other was square headlights they drove them every day, we had a small vegetable farm and quarter horses, kind of a hobby lol not my hobby though lol
Pretty impressive Mr. Goodpliers....you sure do know a lot about vintage vehicles...enjoyed the tour. I see a few things i would like as project rebuilds. Subscribed....never found you before. You can tell that farm was rocking and rolling in 1966 to 1980....it's a dead farm now...but in 1970 it was in its prime.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Good video
Looks like one of those pickup trucks comes with a piano.
Way back before the model Ts came about, the same farm would have had horsedrawn wagon wheels and other parts. Time keeps changing.
At 7.16, who had flashbacks of "American Pickers". Lol. Liked the two John Deer lawn mowers at 11.12 and wondering what engines they had...Briggs & Stratton or their own JD?? The Chevy truck at 10.23 is my dream truck, then the Pinto aha I think will fetch top $$$, lets see.
Nebraska the good life mud flaps what a classic
I love old place s like these I use to remember places like this. Now in south east Wi u can't find nothing like this no more. All the old Ag farm stuff.is so out dated sorry to say junck. Yes I am a farmer.I love the old ford 250. The older cars and trucks hard to find . U are very blessed to have them over by your state s
I still remember the public service ads for fridges due to kids getting locked inside. Chain them shut, block them open or remove the door. Something like that anyway.
Several of these had the doors removed. Thanks for sharing about the PSA!
Killed a bunch of kids in the sixties.
I bet you wish you could get there before it was going to auction, I know I do! Love the Chevy coe! We had one of those frigidaire refrigerators right up until the mid 80's, then my dad did a photoshoot and got a new refrigerator for free. What we didn't know is that the new one didn't have any insulation in it (I think it was only meant to be photographed), so the old frigidare was better!
Great story! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for stopping by the channel!
The truck in "Jeepers Creepers", is worth having.
I am working on a 1942 Plymouth ,need a dipstick tube for the flathead 6 .
Hi, send me an email, mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com
They do have John Deere unders... Just sayin! Thanks for the vids i love seeing all the rusty gold back east!
To me, the 55-57 Chevy looked like the boxes that the Ford Crown Vics we're shipped in, basic style of a box, with some geegaws throw on.
thank for the showing if you ever come across a 1939 handiman tractor at a auction im interest my new jersey
The Chevy COE is post war, as indicated by the big bumper. Pete war trucks used the same bumper as pickups. So 1946 or early 1947. (not '48) The grille is NOT the same as a pickup. The pickup and Conventional cab big trucks used the same grille. The COE grille is a large stamping with individual stainless moulding attached to the bars. No two mouldings alike.
Fascinating info. Thanks for this, Mike!
Before 1940 almost all vehicles had wood bodies and the metal was nailed on after, they never had pressed steel and we're never identical on both sides. A lot of work to restore, make sure you are getting something valuable.
I was wondering if before you start a video you could maybe give some kind of history of the owner, why they are selling, how much land they owned, what they farmed...thanks
I really try to when possible. Unfortunately it seems like the people with the neatest stories are dead. I was there before the sale, so there weren't too many people around on that day who knew very much about the place.
At 10:13 your 47-53 chev truck is 47 to early 55 body style.
11:55 Allis Clamers RotoBaler - baled hay into 18"-ish dia bales.
..you are quite good with the year models...a couple corrections, though...16:10..'70 Ford pickup, assuming correct grill...15:36..that's a '71, again, assuming original grill...15:55..an '82-'86 Ford truck..the coarse-bar grill with the blue "nostril" or "football", as I call it, in the center of the grill..16:05..that's an '80-'81 Ford truck..the "finer" bar grill with more bars, and no blue football in the center of the grill...originally, it would have had letters spelling out "F-O-R-D" across the front edge of the hood..I personally much prefer the '80-'81 look to the '82-'86....
Iota good stuff there
Kansas, Oregon, Alabama. Hundreds and hundreds of exactly the same stuff on farms.
Id love to own that plain Jane red ford bumpside pickup with the straight 6 motor,,,!!
That truck was definitely my favorite vehicle on this property!
Good stuff !! Thank you for sharing !! Why don't you publish these Auction videos before the date of the auction?? That way your subscribers could attend if they see something of interest !! Be safe and God bless !!!!! Eddy
Why would he invite more people to bid against him?
i think it would be nice if bott auction company and others would post on youtube to help get more people to buy and save the items
I wonder why you would call this abandoned. On the contrary, it's more like collected.
Don't make fun of John Deere lawn equipment. It saved a large US company from becoming owned by the Italians or worse like the red tractors. Quality lawnmowers got them through a massive slump in farm and construction equipment in the 80s.
Well done video, thanks. Best regards from Indiana.
Plymouth's had a flathead 6 until 1960.
I wish youd remove the branches and leaves off the cars ! haha
The makings of a still.
That sc piece by the F-150 is called a roto baler
The 3 window, was a salesman's coupe.
Need to find a 1966 Ford with the 7 litre special.
I Always Hear The Word Abandon Farms, Abandoned Cars.....
Do You Just Move In, Trespass And Help Yourself To Someone Else's Property ?
How Does This Work ?
Every property and vehicle is owned by someone, somewhere. I don't ever enter unless I have been invited or given permission first. Everything we take, we negotiate a price for and pay the property owner.
The core of what we do is centered around auctions, so in this case everything was sold to the high bidders who showed up from the public.
The 57 Ford is worth restoring.
Did you see what the 3020 jd sold for. Thanks
Unfortunately I was not able to attend the sale. The tractor was still there when we went to pick up the items we left bids on, so I am not sure if it was just there to move the wagons around, or if it sold.
I have a John Deere chain saw!!!!
Have you came across a 40 mercury sedan front clip mossy and rusty would be a match for my rat rod build I have doors trunk body no front clip am in need of one rusty no paint
Nothing right now, but we will keep an eye out!
Do they still have most cars to sale
No this was a farm auction a couple years ago. We bought the 1960 Thunderbird
Duh thanks loads for posting AFTER the auction. DUHHHH>>>>WTF?
Ótimo vídeo...
Já começa mostrando e ninguém quer aparecer
Where can I find more about that 67 Ford PickMeUp Truck?
I'm not sure. All of these were sold at auction. Unfortunately there were four old car auctions scheduled across the state of Kansas that Saturday, so I was unable to attend this one. The best we could do was film this beforehand for the preview. That was my favorite truck there. I do have two more 1967 long bed Fords. A blue 6 cylinder one I am keeping, and a tan V8 truck that I want to sell. It is a good project truck. Send me an email to mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com if you want more details on it.
bott auction service had the sale
didnt a brother finds his kid brother on one of them fridgs?
Was this a cattle farm and some wheat but no soybeans?
Why they callem three window ? There was more than three windows in them ?
They would count only the side and rear windows, not the windshield.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 thank You for answering me. I truly enjoy your videos Mr. GP. You’ve got quite a nice collection building yourself
Wonder why they dont nrand appliances ROYAL anymore ? Maybe they will brand them Markle ? ahaha
Restore that cement mixer!
I have the jd under wear
Why did the fellow who parked that '66 Galaxy [@ 1:02] leave the window open? Didn't he realize the car would sit there for the next 40 years and mice would get into it? I'll tell 'ya, some people just have no foresight! By the way, that Chevy CoE [@ 8:14] is totally cool! Almost the first thing done by every guy who restores an old CoE is remove the original box and make them into a car hauler or an oversized pichup. I think that's sad. The original box gives those old trucks character. One other thing, be careful where yoiu say [@ 11:10] "John Deere is more than just a brand, it's a religion." Say that at the wrong farm auction and a middle aged farmer wearing a green hat, green T-shirt and JD belt buckle will run out of the crowd screaming "blasphemy" as he cuts you down with an antique scythe he just pulled from the junk pile!
People spend 50,000 dollars to restore something worth 20,000, what the difference what gas mileage they get. At 3.00 dollars per gallon, what's the total gas savings if you spend 30,000 over something that's worth 20,000.
Considering the price of a new truck 30,000 ain't bad. I'd much rather have a restored old truck than a new gadget mobile any day.
All those cars & older cars should be flat enough & put on & on a flat bed train send it on it way
I need 1960 thunderbird parts
Check out my "Rust Ranch" videos. Joe has four of them for parts! His contact info can be found in those videos

If it were a 7 Liter instead it would be worth saving.
What goes wrong at these places? Why abandoned?
There are many reasons farms get abandoned. One is technology. Farm equipment has gotten larger, which cuts down the time necessary to till, plant and harvest. There is less need for farm workers, so many families have fewer children, and less of them take on farming. They move to the cities, and take other professions. In the old days, farms used to make it with 100 acres or less. Now there are farms with thousands of acres. Consolidated operations, and increased mechanization eliminating workers mean that the houses no longer need to be occupied.
Who buys that ?????
The '49 Plymouth, shouldn't that have Ribbed Bumpers and '50's were smooth.
The only truck worth restoring is a Dodge.
I'd wear underpants with ROTO-CUTTER on them..better that than John,Dear!
The bike was a wanna be girl's Schwinn fairlady or Lil chick. Nowhere close to a krate style Schwinn Stingray! LoL.
Ушли люди в небытие и весь ихний скарб пропадет
