    The heart of a runner is built by the punishment of every mile he runs, by every interval he sprints, by ever defeat he is handed, and not giving up after all of that. You win when you’ve given up everything to become the best runner you can be.

    His philosophy of running was on point. Nobody knows if they will live long enough to reach certain milestone but you rather should give your all in that one moment you are in and the rest is history.

    A man who pushed him self to the limit with a life of pain but he put the pain behind him, and now he can finally rest easy looking back at the pain and aches and be happy with what he did, and how he changed how so many look at running, So sad though he still had so much more to give. “Pre Lives”

    He was taught pain at an early age. We could stand up and take a beating and not cry. We became concrete angels! I am not kidding. He loved being free later. He wanted a family and children. Just like me. A real person with love, family and lives. He loved you! “For loving him”! I just want my Dad to one time tell me he loved me! He never did.

    • @waffleocalypse
      @waffleocalypse Před 9 měsíci

      @@SawYouDie I was frustrated about drunk driving when I wrote that comment, but to answer your question, he was remarkable in the US at the time. He broke many American records. But he wasn't very noteworthy on the international stage outside of the 5K, in which there were many faster runners at the time. If he lived, who knows? Most 5K runners peak in their late 20s and he was only 24 when he died, so maybe the best was yet to come and he would have medaled at the next Oympics; maybe he wouldn't have. We'll never know.

      robert ingram you gotta remember pre ran in a time where they didn’t have the modern technological advances we have today he would run one race in a pair of spike and after that race they would be torn and wouldn’t be able to be worn again and I think if he had all the shoes and gear and better track surfaces that we have today I don’t only think he would win he would destroy the competition he had such a remarkable running style that is very rare in athletes in track and if u look at the athletes that have had these characteristics hold world to today such as etc. Eliud Kipchoge, David Rudisha, Kenenisa Bekele, and Hicham El Guerrouj to only name a few who shared the same talents as pre!
