Hearing you all discuss tyre placement, choosing the right line and carrying the right amount of momentum especially with these full size vehicles is very informative and entertaining. This is what is called REAL off-roading,unlike those plain dirt roads…ofcourse it depends alot on the driver skill set also,but Thar did a pretty gud job considering the price difference between wrangler & thar…

Automatic is better for such crawling, both Petrol & Diesel are similarly well tuned so no difference at all there. I was driving Diesel Automatic, the other Rocky Beige Thar was Petrol Manual, see how many times it stalled only because it was Manual.
All of them did really well. Great directions given by the team. My favorite was the Vcross's entry.. its exhaust is really a boom.. it is re-mapped with anything else than the exhaust system??

Scorpio was a disaster. It doesn't have any electronics, kept sending power to the slipping tyre. Thar's was good but too aggressive, that juggle either side was painful to watch.

Good job guys. All cars and Jeep performed as expected. The non-jeep vehicles are catered mainly for tarmac so by default they should struggle (no shame in that). Jeep was created for this purpose (only) and it delivered, without struggle. So...Applause!!
what were the Thar's on 4h, 4L or 2H for the hill climb? Were they stalling due to 4L ? seems risky to stall when changing angle .. at the risk of tipping.
Good video; I suggest add information about suspension (solid axle vs independent, AWD vs real 4WD) and off-road options (front/rear lockers, sway-bar disconnect, etc.) for each vehicle. Also, there was a huge difference in tires (off-road vs street) that would have definitely affected the capability.

It’s walk in the park for jeep rubicon👍🏽👌🏽… our Thar is not bad too but I’m impressed by Pajero’s capabilities in rock climbing, providing it’s not fitted with proper off-roading tyres and suspension is also not tuned for off-road specially rock climbing
Good work by everyone. The pajero drivers need to be more patient especially the silver one. Jeeps were the champions of offroading again with their awesome differentials, proved they are built for doing exactly this. No comments on the Scorpio.
Problem with Pajero Sport is it cant crawl, due to tall gearing + severe turbo lag, so while the driver might look lacking in skill its the car which has the disadvantage

The locking action of MLD makes the crawl/climb appear jerky...while off Roading does the locking of rear differential feel an unexpected thing or you have got the hang of it and predict it's engagement?

The electroics in the thar played a superb role while in scorpio it was quite the opposite

MLD behaviour while crawling is not predictable, for situations with aggressive wheelspin it predictable
