Honestly, Side Effects is a whole art project. The feeling of it being a lot or being disorienting is intentional and SO well done. Gosh I love this song so much I will never stop praising it haha.

"my head hurts" is such a relatable line hahaha
The Side Effects is a psychotrance song about mental issues, the song is build like that to give an impression of having a mental issue, the voice in the background is typing all the side effects (anxiety, insomnia etc) like the ones they are mentioning while taking medicines. It says about the road they took as an artists. Instead of the easy one in a bus, they decided to take a different path on their own, not fallow the trends, that's why there are two moons and they are in the bus and not in the bus, but it was harder than they thought it would be. The backlash they got after release of this song and the hate Chris got was overwhelming. People didn't understand this song at all, yet it is one of the most legendary and iconic k-pop songs ever created. I love this song with all my heart ❤️
"OH" is the continuation of their song " on track" and " b me". Don't know if you already reacted to that two, but you should react to them to understand the storyline ❤️

Hyunjin's hiatus was never his choice. JYPE just threw him under the bus to protect their own image. It never was a mental health hiatus but a punishment. The first thing he did 1st day of freedom 1st July at 1 AM was to come to bubble and read all our messages for 5 hours, then he went to sleep for 3 hours and continued to read our messages then message us. He was missing us that much. He loves to perform, the stage and performing is his life and he loves us. He is our LoveStay boy for a reason. I was crying for like 2 hours when I saw him in the Mixtape OH, when I saw his face after 4 months in the darkness.
I would totally watch a three part album reaction, I actually prefer longer album reaction :)

Hyunjin singing is my therapy, it’s like a warm hug or a blanket snuggling you. You definitely have to check out his original song “Little Star,” from the guide, it’s about his late dog and it’s the sweetest song. His dance cover of when the party’s over with original choreo was also one of the most beautiful dance choreos I’ve ever seen and made me cry.
Also, Mixtape: OH is part of their mixtape project with two other songs, On Track and Gone Days. Gone Days is more of a fun one that says ok boomer but On Track (korean title: even a fool knows) is the first installment in a small storyline stays have noticed, followed by B Me (a bside from the Go Live and In Life album) and then mixtape: OH. B Me doesn’t have an mv but it has an unveil track (short videos skz releases before a comeback for their bsides that may potentially get full mvs) abs for an example, lino gets injured in the B Me unveil track so that’s probably why he has a cast. Also he and hyunjin have bad blood because they were in a love triangle in On Track, so it’s kind of confusing but I’m excited to see more of the story!
"Bravado can't last anymore, maybe it hurts more because I thought it would be easy"
The first time I heard that back in 2019, I knew I had to stan. As a guy whose in the same age bracket with them, I can fully vouch that they speak the mind of our generation. This line definitely called me out in that stage of my life where I did a very bravado-loaded decision and thought I could go against the mold that society's put me in, thinking I can change everything because I was "born" to do it. But reality hits harder than I thought, and that bravado would eventually run out. Then you eventually open your eyes to see that you have come too far to back out, and your determination is actually built on sand. :(
Hyunjin officially came back July 1st and he has been really active on his social media. He sounds good, and mentioned that he is hanging out and eating with the other members.

Side effect doesn't have a dance practice normal. There is one but it's a cute version however they have a performance video but I recommend their live version on SBS I think ? It was remixed by Chan and you can see the choreo and some other surprises😉
Side effects talk about the progress of growing as a personne but like other Stray Kids' song it's very open so you can interpret it how you want.
The boys have many things connected but you have to seperate Hellevator from all of that because it was their pre-debut song and is not connected to anything.
I'm maybe wrong but I think that you like more pop, r&b, ballad songs and not the heavy rap, hip hop, edm, trap songs so I really recommend you to listen to their b-side because I think that would be more to your taste.
Another thing to note about their music is that it tends to be gender neutral. Which I absolutely love because it can be relatable to anyone and everyone, which they’ve said is their main goal. To be able to connect with Stays everywhere. 💛
The moment you realize it’s difficult to have one bias and that THEY ALL WRECK THE HELL out of your bias spot…. 🤦♀️😂🥰

Omg please do the full length album- I don’t mind if it’s split into parts! ‘In Life’ is a repackage album so it has all the songs from the ‘Go Live’ album plus a few extra unit songs, so it would be like reacting to both albums so 2 parts makes plenty of sense😊
Of course I love the members and yes of course SKZ title tracks slap, but I feel like you truly fall in love with them (with most groups in general) when you dive into and pay attention to their b-sides! I recently got the word "sunshine" tattooed on my arm for their song --you guessed it lol-- Sunshine. There's many artists in my native language that impact me as well but stray kids for me are just next-level at delivering their thoughts and emotions into their craft.
if you wanna know more about leeknow, there's a really informative video that you can watch in your own time which is; "this video will make you fall in love with lee know" by hyunjin nation, i kid you not, i didn't have a bias before that video. it changed me completely and I've been Lee know biased for a few days now, just trynna accept my fate 😥

When I saw Hyunjin in OH I legit cried because it had been SO LONG since we had heard or seen him because of his hiatus. That song will always be special for that reason.

i'm surprised that not a lot of ppl talk about miroh in the comment section. for me, miroh will always have a special place in my heart bc it made me stan them and also gave them their first win. the song itself is still one of my favorite title tracks ever in kpop and the raps, beat, choreo everything is hitting so hard. 10/10

side effects is about the side effects of growing up (especially the transition from pre teen to teen to adult) it all happens so fast and it seems to be neverending. it can be the most stressful and painstaking time in your life.
for a lot of us this is the time when you start getting diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and other mental. health disorders. a lot of times this is to be “fixed” with medications. tho this also could be a reference to the “my head hurts”
speaking of my head hurts, this song is supposed to give you the overwhelming pressure and sensations of being forced to grow up so quickly (kinda like in the industry often in kpop). because this stress and anxiety can lead to headaches and migraines, as well as a whole bunch of other things.
the voice is listing off the side effects is listing off the side effects of growing up.
*this is just my viewpoint of the lyrics summarized, so i could have missed some things or poorly explained it*

애 actually has a storyline on its own. It's a trilogy they did with "only a fool knows/on track", "B Me" and the last one "OH". Where it showcases how they were a group of friends in high school that had some fights and took some distance from each other but they end up missing anyway what they had and are sad that they lost everything bc of how immature they were.

And yeah, the SKZ lore is Deep. 2 moons, 2 universes, the road less traveled (hence yellowwood), we still haven't got all of it yet but Chris narrates a "road to far" kind of vid explaining,,,some? Of it? It helps to watch the tracks in order (basically all the ones with an mv).
Honestly the Mixtape OH mv is so emotional for me to this day. After months of Hyunjin being on hiatus and his status in the group being questioned, this was the first time that stays got to see him. I won’t lie, I was ugly crying the whole way through. This song holds such a special place in my heart. While it’s not my fav from the noeasy album, it’s so sentimental🤍
There's just something about Oh fr, like yeah...the edm/rap tracks are more my style of music, however Oh just makes me want to play it over and over again, its beautiful, upbeat and has a good meaning and amazing lyrics. Back Door, Miroh and Oh are in a triple threat rn fighting for 1st place in my heart. 😅

OOO Miroh is one of my favorites!! just a fun fact, the “roar” and eagle sounds that you occasionally hear throughout Miroh is actually animals that Korea uses to represent their country and nation! for example the roaring noise is the siberian tiger as you saw on the banners and such, which is Korea’s national animal! and in Korean culture, the eagle is used to represent the country. Eagles are known to be powerful and gracious, holding its own in the animal kingdom! and you can recognize some subtle references to this within the song! hopefully i explained well LOL i thought it was cool fact to know!
I am really happy when people see lee know and having him as as bias cause when people look at Stray Kids they didn't notice lee know cause he not having much scree times or lines.. only STAY will know how TALENTED he is and I glad he shine in kingdom a lot.. love your reaction to oh 😭 idk if this sounds crazy or not, but with everything that happened before hyunjin came back, I feel like maybe oh could also be a note to everyone/stay talking about wanting to be there for them and the members, but having to balance personal growth on top of fame and everything else. like "i wasn't prepared for all of this and i want to be there for everyone and get this right, but its all a lot for me and im still young." and leaving the naive/childlike part of them behind in order to move forward. I'm not sure if that's me reaching or not but either way i was sobbing thru the whole song i love it and them endlessly.

OH (2021) - stays believe it was supposed to be an anniversary gift too but delayed it until hyunjin’s return
OH will always have a special place in my heart. i love that song so much. 2 weeks before the release, we only knew through an article that skz will release a mixtape by the end of june and jyp is yet to announce if hyunjin will participate. They dropped that mixtape out of no where with literally no promotions. the teasers were posted the day after 😭

it’s true,, SKZ actually use autotune or the “pitcher” you mentioned as a “style” in some of their songs (mostly Easy and MIA) like.. it’s not there to just enhance their voices and be subtle, if it’s there, they make SURE you know it’s there

In Side effects the part where two of the members fight they didn’t want to do it if you watch the behind the scenes they were having trouble with that part. and in their new song they let Felix show his freckles which they barely let him do that.

I'm gonna flex but with a reason. A Kpop fan for ten years, once groups started coming to Chicago I went to see as many groups as possible. I've seen 2 P. M., EXO, NCT127, Block B, DPR LIVE, DEAN, Zico, Oneus, Winner, Imfact, KARD, SHINee, BTS two times, B.A.P two times, Monsta X two times and GOT7 three times....but the last show I went to before 2020 shut it all down was Stray Kids. They were the BEST KPOP LIVE ACT I'VE SEEN. PeriodT. When concerts reopen don't miss them.
