    Like what I'm seeing. Though honestly wish it was more wallet-friendly for the pair.

      Yeah they are quite nice once you get your hands on them... Will be comparing them to a bunch of other GMRS radios soon so you'll get a better idea of how they stack up!

    I noticed in your fast-forward of the unboxing that there was a larger antenna, did that come with it? I ordered two of the 5 watts and just received them today, but they did not come with a larger antenna, just the small stubby one.

      I think they were running a promo with the extra antenna when I originally acquired that one... Don't think it's included anymore but would be nice if they did!

    When you tested, was that simplex or using a repeater?

    • @UrbanSurvivor

      Simplex

      @UrbanSurvivor would love to see them using a repeater. Great video using a real world environment. Keep up the great work.

      I honestly I do not know, but I think it can depend greatly on a situation and authorities interest in you. If say cell signal would go down as it did yesterday 02/22/2024 all over United States and you used none licensed GMRS they might track you down for using unauthorized lines during emergency, but if society functions normally they wouldn't care. Or if you pissed the wrong people, it might be an excuse to get you. Think logically about those type of things.

      Legally you can not use this radio without a GMRS license unless its a life or death emergency. The license is super easy to get and is only $35 and is good for 10 years it also covers your immediate family members as well.

      @@theoneandonly1802It's literally the opposite of what you describe. In an emergency, you can use GMRS without a license. otherwise, it's not allowed.

      @@derekschinke2512 You do make sense, when everything is collapsing and burning, authorities have other matters to take care of, rather than tracking down un-authorized lines who didn't pass the test and haven't paid $35 dollars for it.

    One hundred sixty five dollar? Why are these radios so expensive?

    • @UrbanSurvivor
      @UrbanSurvivor  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Ive got about 7 other GMRS radios on my desk I'm working with for a GMRS comparison video. Still in the process of comparing them but so far the Rocky Talkie excels in build quaility, IP rating, its very compact and easy to use. I think its great option for new GMRS users who dont need a whole lot of features but that can keep up with them on pretty much any outdoor adventure.
