- Alabama Football is heading into its first season with Kalen DeBoer as its new head football coach and many people have opinions on how Alabama will fare in the 2024 college football season just a week away from SEC Media Days. Barstool Sports’ personality Brandon Walker had some choice words about Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and believes that Alabama will lose 3-4 games in the 2024 season. Josh Pate on the other hand believes that Kalen DeBoer may be starting his prime of his coaching in Tuscaloosa.

Milroe CAN NOT play the passing game consistent enough he has 3 good drives the whole game and our defense carried us all last season. He eyes one receiver then takes off running. I rather us build a freshman’s game time up and have an off year than deal with this POS passer get us to the playoffs and lose. I rather not go to playoffs and lose than go undefeated and lose in the playoffs

I make money on college ball. Jalen, will surprise people this year. His passing down field did need work. But seeing the field. He is good at. I would run both qb's thus year. Ty is better in long passes, Milroe is better on slant passes and better legs..so set back an watch the Tide over achieve this year.

The only thing that Alabama has to do from the coaching staff down to the players are keep the main thing the main thing. Stay focused, work hard, believe in the coaches and each other. Be disciplined, they know what the goals and standards are...achieve those and everything else is irrelevant. What Brandon, John, Mike, Tom, Georgia, Auburn,Tennessee, Texas LSU, and any one else and their fan base thinks is not the main thing so it doesn't matter and who gives a damn what they say anyway. They can think and say whatever they want....Alabama just needs to stay focused and let the results on the field do all the talking. Roll Tide

It never should've come to that. The Auburn game, should've been over by the third quarter, same for the Georgia game... the Texas game...
Debore, needs to hit the ground running. There is zero margin for error. If Milroe is even close to not meeting expectations as a QB, he wont play. With that position it is either you can see the whole field or you cant. By the time a QB reaches Alabama, that shouldn't even be a problem. It woud be like a person replacing lead guitar in the most famous band in the world and barley being able to play. It's that insane. Niblack didnt just leave for the money. Alabama has money. Niblack left because he thought he'd be catching passes from a QB like Tua, Mac and Bryce... that's a fact. No one wants to say it out loud.
The Alabama play just before their last field goal was the deal breaker. The one that everyone in the stadium knew the blitz was coming, except Milroe. Niblack was wide open across the middle. Jalen had other plans. He planted his feet, like it was the Auburn game and was only being rushed by two people. Milroe, locked on Burton the whole time. It didnt matter that he was being double covered, nope. All Alabama needed was 9 yards. Option one, anticipate the blitz. He could've stepped up in the pocket, if he knew his hot routes, he didn't and make that pass to Niblack. That would've been an easy first down, probably a TD. They go up 24-13 game over. They get the first down, game over.
Second, if he had anticipated the Michigan blitz, he couldve very easily gotten outside their defense going left. He had enoug feild and more than enough speed to easily get the first down, probably could've/should've been a TD. Either way, a real QB, would've gotten it done. Don't get me started on the amount of open recievers all damn game. Bryce would've feasted. When I say a real QB, I'm referring to Tua, Bryce and Mac..like a qb that has trained all their lives for the position and didn't just get the gig because he was the best player on the field.
Call me a hater, I'm not. When my dad was honest with me, it never came from a place of hate. He didn't want me walking around with delusions of grandeur. Him being honest knew how hard id have to prepare for anything in my life. Too many people see what they hope they see, but don't see. Take away the personal and make a business decision. Would you use an employee that was iffy at best.. someone with potential, but full potential. Someone that just kept making the same mistakes over and over, tobwin your company a billion dollar deal?
(1) Milroe is the most overhyped QB i've ever seen. In 1st 1/2 of the SEC championship he made 3 completions for 39yds even with Kirby's dumb decision to spy two players on him instead of just blitzing him. (because UGA had zero respect of Milroe's passing ability) Not to mention Milroe's 3rd down sissy slide 3 yards before sticks for another of many 3 and outs in that game.
(2) In the Michigan game he took 2 two inexcusable 3rd down sacks in easy field goal range making them 50yds each that miraculously Will Reichard made.
Milroe has zero ability to do anything but run if his 1st read isn't open, he can't read a defense, can't throw an accurate 5 yrd pass, holds the ball for an eternity staring at his 1st read and doesn't throw balls away to avoid sacks, (all while other WR's are wide open everywhere).
Bama might still only lose 1 or 2 games this year because they are so talented, but Brandon Walker is right about Milroe.

My concern is the defense this year
Huge Bama fan here who does not look at things thru Crimson glasses. I try my best to be subjective. Here’s my assessment of Jalen and I will give the disclaimer I have always wanted Ty to start. But hear me out. I love Jalen. I love his speed, Arm strength, Passion, Love for Alabama, and the fact he’s a good Christian kid. But what I don’t like are his quick thinking ability and his lack of ability to hit a guy in stride over the middle for a 10 yd gain. I love how he extends plays but lots of times they are extended because he failed to see his early read and open man. To many times I’ve seen him by pass a guy wide open short to wait and try and go long even when the short guy would have given them a first down. I truly think that’s why Bonds left. Jalen won’t hit you in stride unless it’s a deep throw. As a wr you want a consistent passer and to me Ty is that guy. You rarely see Jalen sneak a pass in past a db. If the man isn’t wide open Jalen’s not completing to him. We shall see. Don’t see him being a Deboer offense type guy either. Could be wrong. Hope I am. Cuz he’s gonna start.

I wouldn't be okay with four losses, but that would be my limit before starting to grumble. My expectation is two losses. I believe an SEC or even a national championship is feasible if the tradition happens in a way that seems seamless.

JM is NOT a QB! How do you guys think JM will learn KD's offense in a couple months when JM couldn't learn BAMA's offense in over two years! JM schitt the bed at Manning academy and couldn't crack top 11. If you believe JM is going to be a Heisman finalist, you are not very intelligent. JM does not have pocket presence, accuracy, timing, ability to read defense, touch! JM refused to run because he thinks being a QB equals not running! How can JM not crack top 11 at Manning Academy? BAMA/Reese had to literally make an offense up on the fly because JM COULD NOT RUN Bama's offense, TR drew plays up in the dirt, the center had to make every line adjustment call and blitz adjustments because JM can't do it, JM would often call for the snap before Seth M could finish making all the adjustments which is why Saban never made a change at center and why Seth left soon as he could! Our leading WR will have around 400 yards on the whole season lie last year.
