Thank you for this tutorial. I've been looking forward to playing this game, and I don't like to dive in with only a theoretical understanding of the rules.
Around 14:03, you state the haunt roll is made with a number of dice equal to the number of tiles you have placed, but on page 12 it says to roll dice "equal to the number of omens revealed." I feel like this would probably make a substantial difference.

You are a good narrator and thanks for making the video. You should look at different camera setups in the future if you do any other tutorial vids. Some folks will have a second camera that magnifies a bit, so you can slide cards and text under there and have a clear look.
Hopefully at some point I can do just that. As it is right now my finances prevents me from getting a second camera.

I have played a lot of House and I've wanted to get this version for a while now. There are some subtle differences to how it works that I quite like. If you enjoyed this version you should try House and it's expansion, they each add another 50 haunts and from what I've been told by friends with some minor tweaking to rules you could run all three at once for a big jumbled uber game if you have the time.
I would love to get House and the expansion, the only thing holding me back is the fact that I rarely get an opportunity to play the games I have. This one only got used twice. I have some other games that I never even fully opened. That said if I can get them on sale I will probably still pick them up.

The game is really designed for a minimum of three players, so I don't think it would translate well to just two players, for example the scenario where one player was actually a Doppelganger would not play well with just two people, since a big part of it is creating paranoia in the other players, concerned that one of them might also be one as well.

So do the players almost always know who the traitor is? I know there are hidden traitor haunts but using the doppelganger as an example, do the heroes know immediately that you are a doppelganger?
When it comes to the initial traitor yes, but there are situations such as with the Doppelganger that the remaining players might become traitors as well. That happened in the game that I played where I entered a combat with the traitor, the other players had to leave the room and if I lost the combat I became a Doppelganger too. When the other players returned I acted normal and made it look like I was going to help the last remaining player only to stab him in the back when he least expected it. The player was in shock and had a few choice words for me. It was a lot of fun.
Just played the game for the first time. Spent 2 hrs. Awful ending because of an unfortunate combination of circumatances... Sadness.
We had a lot of fun. We made plenty of mistakes but it was still a fun time. Hopefully the next time you play it goes better
Hey man, are you going to preorder betrayal legacy which will be released a few days after halloween?
I wasn't even aware of it being a thing. I will probably pass since I rarely get to use any of my board games. That said once we get into December I might have some extra funds, so never say never I guess?
