I hope lots of newbies get to see this, because your advice is spot on. Your explanations are clear and easy to understand. Your channel was suggested to me by YT -- lucky me! Thank you Rebecca.
I love the flared sleeve look! It is particular though. The Naya tee is another great simple one. Little gilets/vests are also very simple, like the Pathfinder from Twig and Tale
Great episode ! These are excellent suggestions for beginners. I totally agree with your thoughts about making useful / wearable projects right from the start of your sewing journey.
Thank you for these suggestions - most importantly the Tytka bag patterns! Their designs are fabulous. I've been making my clothes off and on all my life, and there is so much more I'd like to learn to make, bags being one of them. I'm a recent subscriber, but your videos are watched as soon as they appear on my feed. Great content!
YAY! Great picks. (I kind of like the arm bands 😂😂). Ive had the wrap skirt on my list but have not made it yet! I dont have a modern machine with buttonhole foot but i auppose i could always do it by hand! Recently i sewed the tytka i think 59... Its a tote with sort of a circular handle and i loveeeee it. I use it as a purse. Also i hadnt heard of that tank/ dress so ill have to check it out! Great video!!
Thank you! And I think they can work :) really does depend on the fabric. I think you could probably use one of those drawstring eyelet punch tools in place of a button hole for the tie to go through. I’ll have to check out the bag style you made it sounds really cute! Thanks for watching :)
I made the all well box top - first the long sleeve version, then the sleeveless version. I struggled to understand their instructions on applying bias tape, but eventually figured it out. I can't remember if the sleeveless version used bias tape, but the long sleeve version does. Anyways, I was very happy with it in the end. I'm making my first pair of zipper fly pants currently. I haven't watched your video on making jeans yet. Can any sewing machine handle the thickness of denim fabric?
Thanks for your feedback, I haven’t tried the all well box top yet. I’ve found that my machine (which is the entry level singer heavy duty) does okay when I use a hump jumper on the thicker transitions and sometimes I have to hand crank over the thickest bits. Hammering thick areas before sewing topstitching helps too!
I have always thought those boxy tops are not flattering. I appreciate your suggestions, am now excited to make one. Sewing is a super power!!
Wonderful! Thanks for watching :)

Gosh, I love your background shelf styling. Relaxed yet thoughtful, and really super chic. Beautiful. 0:48

I hope you are feeling better soon! Thanks for watching :)

I think those are great suggestions! Thanks for sharing : ) The flared sleeves can definitely work! I just found them to bother me a bit when wearing.
Thank you for sharing these experience!

That’s so kind of you, thank you! I love the tytka bags, so many great options.
Thank you for all these links. I have been trying to put together some beginner sewing classes for a while now. These patterns hit all my marks.

ORCHARD TOP WAS REALLY HARD
Thanks for your feedback. Which part was difficult for you?
