I always assumed these types of machines are disproportionately imbalanced to make it hard for players to win, but I never knew there were online versions. That's really cool, but honestly they sound super fishy. Thanks for making this video!! Always nice to bring attention to lesser known things.

I started toreba in January 2020 and so far have gotten a little over 30 figures from them using only freeplays...
I have never seen/felt a claws strength be changed mid game. Almost always the machine gets a "maintenance" screen before a change is made to it (but occasionally they do change something during "restock" screen). But I have also seen multiple times, machines that nobody is winning get re-adjusted to be easier.

i played back in 2015 and won so easily. fast forward many years it got super hard to win. played over $17000 usd and noticed many sketch things happening. arm strength weakening mid play, glitches where the claw misses completely, miss clicks, double clicks, a shadow of the workers comming by to rig the arm to close too early, balls on the takoyaki drop running out. fun while it lasted got $50 items for one play. last time i played was in 2018 or so spent $500 and barely got 10 prizes. Arm strength is way too weak and each play raised up in price.

I came here from Kid Shoryukens' channel. This video addresses a pet peeve of mine. I have played only a few crane games (I won a small item once) because I feel like I'm throwing money away even more than going to a casino and playing slots. I always felt that the arms were too weak to support the large desirable objects. The smaller items are not things that stack up compared to the large plushies. Also, the objects are shaped so they can not be held easily by 2 claws particularly. Some people do win but I don't know how much they've invested. There is no way to verify claw machine integrity when you're at an arcade. I do admit they are fabulously fun, just like slot machines but even though I like gambling in general, claw machines always seemed like an almost sure loss! The multi winners in this comment section must know tricks that I don't and believe me, I've seen a number of strategies people use. Thanks for being on Jim's channel so I could find you.!😁

Won about 9 prizes since this yr, and all were based on the free ticket given.
i think it depends on the machine that you are playing. some are really skill based machine, where you need to figure out the exact position to place the claw in order to move the prize.
If you focus on 1 prize, and try to watch the whole winning process, you can actually queue and try to get that prize next try.
i have definitely spent before, and sometimes i do get empty handed at the end, but still it was fun.

I just spent an entire day watching people play. I have only played using free plays but I have witnessed the screen say under maintenance just before someone wins as the item is about to fall and they put the same item back where it was to start with. I’ve seen this happen at least 20. They definitely use weights or magnets in corners of the packaging to keep it from falling down. Very frustrating that it’s such a scam!

      1) never start playing if prize is in it's starting position, wait until the winning moment then start playing
      2) choose a machine which has strong claw
      3) observe before start playing see how other people actually win the prize first
      4) make sure the item is not wraped in loose plastic bag, cos it will stick to the bar/rod

I think the only way to win trust with these things is if the company can be completely transparent about win percentage and make sure everything is tracked and accounted for. I used to manage an arcade that had crane and ticket redemption, they all had settings for win ratio and those machines could stay within that % very accurately. But when a company like this, doesn't bother to make sure all of the settings are fair, they will eventually lose repeat customers. Of course, by fair, I mean still in favor of the company, but not by an extreme amount and a free play should be equal chance to a paid play. Thanks for the video, very interesting!

I've always seen reviews about how its false and not legit. My first experience with the app was in late 2018, I downloaded it it and signed up and it gave me 5 free plays. I never spent money on the app, but on the 5th play (all on the same machine) I actually won the prize in the machine! It was a white plush bunny with long ears and they had free shipping on certain days of the week, so after waiting til that day I had them ship it to me for free and I actually got the item! I was very surprised I got what I won, and looking at other crane machines there was the same bunny plush but pink that I wanted, I found it listed on eBay for a decent price and it happened to be sold from Toreba, it came in the same style box with their logo on it as well! I'll never use the app again after watching your video on it, but from my one experience it was a good one lol

It's actually pretty common for resellers to use the same box used to ship the prizes so I don't really think toreba selling the prizes themselves is valid. I do the same thing as it's really convenient for me to just remove the original packaging info, list the prize on ebay, and just print out the new package info to ship.

This is why I always go for the ping-pong configuration. It's much easier, once you know the direction in which the ball should fall, you're pretty much set to win. All of the prizes I have won, except for maybe two, were with the ping-pong config. 😄👍 (Plus, if you manage to grab all of the balls and still not get the prize, you can make a dispute and they will give you the prize by default).
(Try not to play the ping-pong configs. with tall rings and no hole spaces though, it's a lot harder. Instead, look out for ping-pong configs with rings that are level and have plenty of empty hole spaces).

Toreba has the best prizes and low initial spending to get 10000tp. Sure you are not going to get enough free tickets everyday but they have constant event for additional tickets. If you are good, there are some plenty of machines played by others that can be won within 5 plays. I have seen placements(not initial placements) which can be won within 2 plays get messed by players and only won after 30 plays.
I m pretty sure there are players with multiple accounts abusing free tickets after the initial 10000 tp as well, but it is always good for people to help move the prize from the initial spot to a winnable spot.

Recently I won my first prize on Toreba which is a plushie. I was the first one to play the machine the was likely just restocked and took me maybe 8 tries. I used 3 free play tickets and the TP that I had left over from my earlier tries. It actually wasn’t hard at all but did see some crane arm strength changes with other machines vs the one I won on. I’m more concerned about shipping because Japan temporarily stopped parcel shipping to my country.

I had a Toreba account for a few years and I won 2 times, both times I think it was beginners luck because afterwards I put 50 dollars in worth of tp and didn't win anything. I decided the pay out rate wasn't worth the money you put into it. If I spent hundreds of dollars and only win here or there, there is really no incentive to keep spending. I know the company needs to make profit but If the player put in 50 dollars worth of money I feel it should at least guarantee them SOMETHING.

I mean this is just standard claw machine stuff. Irl and online. Unless you’re really lucky it’s not about getting the prize on that try it’s all about nudging, testing the claws strength, watching other people play and seeing their moves. Claw strengths are always going to be intentionally weak with perhaps a slim percent they’ll have a “stronger” auto setting after a few turns.
The only issue I can really see is if the game gets popular with little kids who just spend their parents money.

I prefer playing in those little arcade's in the UK where they don't maintain the machines or they over fill the unit so you have other ways like nudging the toy in to the chute. If you need to win it's just a case of playing enough times that you reach the 'turn' that the grabber doesn't release early.

I wonder if they did something recently to fix some of the issues. I have had an account with Toreba for about 3 years now & pay $3 a month for 10,000 TP, typically I let it stack for a bit & then I play until I run out of TP. My first win was three years ago & it was a fluke. It was just a regular claw machine, I picked up a Raichu plush & it accidentally fell out of the claw & into the prize chute. I didn't win again after that for a long time but just a little less than a week ago, I realized I had a lot of TP stacked up since I was in the process of moving, I didn't play for nearly a year so I went on & won kinda quickly on the first machine with plenty leftover. I played on another machine I had so much trouble with in the past, one of those that would typically have like a towel or something & you slide it down. I got that too. I remember what the claw strengths & so on were like in the past, it felt impossible to win so I get what you're saying so I just have to wonder if something happened & they were forced to make them a little more winnable? Not sure. I don't usually have this much credit to mess with so I know that came into play but I ended up with credit leftover too & decided to bank it & play again in a few months.

I've spent maybe 30 dollars in total since a couple I started a few years ago. I've won a few dozen things mainly pokemon plush. Also the majority of items I have won were on free play. I've been playing Toreba for at least 2 years now. The money spent is very minimal as most of the time i play using just free tickets (buy 10ktp and get 2 free tickets daily). Ive won well over 60 prizes. The machines are not rigged in the sense that no one can win, but it is adjusted to make it harder to win. Otherwise how would they make money.
It is true that some have those rubber grips and have like sticky tape to increase the friction causing the game to be harder to win. But when viewing and playing Toreba, it is not like a traditional crane game where you pick up a prize and drop it in a hole. These style games you have to use the claw to slowly adjust the prize to make it move closer to falling.
When a game was just restocked and is at default position, if you play thinking you will win than that is on you. And if you just make account and use 5 free plays thinking you'll win, thats also a mistake. They have many types of machines and the win style is different in each. It'd be smart to just watch people play for a bit to see how prizes are won.
An ex employee talking bad about the company? I bet you that happens everywhere. Maybe they're talking bad about company thats why they're an EX employee. And employee who make game too easy get in trouble? that should be the case cause again, its a business. If i worked somewhere and gave everyone a discount i would be in trouble with my boss too.
Their machines are designed to be harder to win, but they are in the business of making money. Its not impossible to win, just have to be on the hunt for games and see how things are won.
