My 2006 Volvo XC90 V8 4.4. Does not pull off like that. How do I get it to that point. Mind you, it has 333k and runs nice for it's age. So far I have changed the radiator, thermostat, front and back brakes, front rotors, front driver side caliper, fuel filter, air filter, vacuum pump and solenoid, hood release cable, brand new driver and passenger headlight assembly, DVD/SAT/NAV hard drive, oil change, coolant flush, transmission fluid change. Couple of things I want to get. Genuine Volvo maf sensor and spark old plugs. What am I missing for it to pull off that fast.
After owning a V8 executive Volvo s80 for 7 years, I have to say this - the car was fun, but really it is probably the most power-strangled and de-tuned V8 in the world. It was fun to have, but really it's against everything that a V8 should be ))
The automatic gearbox are always terrible in Volvo's, they should have been equipped with Mercedes or ZF transmissions. This engine was the top of Volvo's car before the falldown due to chinese management and ridiculous 4 cylinders following the nice 5, 6 , 8.
I get what you are saying. It does sound like it's not an automatic, but the V8 S80 only came with an automatic as standard. No manual were avaliable. But I think the 6 speed manual from the same gen diesel S80 will fit on the V8.
Not sure why it would be quiet. The noise those trees make as they fall and crash........then the sound of the V8 rumbling again. Maybe the silence you would ( or wouldn't hear ) would be as the driver realises he has stripped the angle gear
@@ShirixaeNaEoshahn He said "ZJ" which is a Toyota-manufactured V8 that, here in America, was put into the Lexus SC400... They really do sound sweet with the right exhaust system on them. In that era, Lexus targeted mainly the old people for car sales so even their healthy V8 sounds rather pathetic in stock configuration; they were selling them to people who were driving to the country club to golf or a quiet drive with the mistress to a hotel. Once you strip away all of the sound-reducing components in the exhaust system, the "ZJ" makes a beautiful snarling growl! 👍🏻

2:03 Ayo that’s me, thanks for putting me in your video
yea, and I hope everyone will be enlightened and open their eyes to your wonderful sounding car ;)
that thing sounds insane
I've got a 2009 S80 V8 with a gorgeous sounding Sports Exhaust..Love driving it.
I'll have to do some decent videos of it 👊
After seeing this video I might have to do some mods to my wife's XC90 Executive V8 :D
LOL
Definitely not loud enough stock ;)
Let that bitch breath!😁
@@splendorshitbox5555 I have one. I find it to be too loud. I like quiet. Keeps attention away from me.
These V8s sound more American than the real American V8s, it's hard to believe that such hot rod-like sound comes from a Volvo
It sounds like the original 63 amg v8’s
My S80 at 2:47. Thanks for having me 🤗
I'm the one to thank you for having such a nice sounding car!
I’ve been following jester for a while, he has one of the nicest s80’s
That S80 at the end…👍😎
Didn't know they could sound so good !
Nice job, Yamaha.
Japanese quality with sweed design bb

Lots of power. Beautiful sound. Not so fast. But I don’t care. I love it.
Oh I WANT one of these. The Volvo with a 2.4L Straight 5 is a little girl by comparison.
True, but it still sounds awesome 😎 but the V8 is really on another level...
Why not have one of both? The 2.4T still sounds like a baby V10 when you put the right pipes on ‘er
Actually, any i5/VR5/V10 will sound better than a V8
1:32 is dude shifting? I thought these were automatic only (?)

It is a auto. Just a healthy tf80
They were automatic only in the US. But I think there was an available manual transmission abroad.
No@@matthewstorm5188
You can use a manual mode. + and - signs indicate this
Nice but I wouldnt say the best
Well the Scania V8's also sound pretty sweet ;)
@@splendorshitbox5555 Was that in a Saab ? (Please say YES)

Boat sounding v8. Sounds great but I wouldn't call it best sounding Volvo engine
How reliable are these engines?
Well mine has done 330000km and has not a single problem. Service them right and take care of them and they will last a long time.
@@Marcus-kw2ed that’s good to hear. I believe they also put them in the S80 for a little while.
Extremely
220,000 + miles so far
Ridiculously reliable, it is insane how little issues ours has had in over 250 k miles
Ahhh the Ford era of Volvo... i miss you...
The beginning of the downhill
Inline 5s, VR5s and V10s > V8s

Ah the Volvo speed/noise junkies are here, and its all good, until they will find a tree....and then its nice and quiet. TH

I agree. Having taken out the tree, the road ahead would be clear.
Volvo drivers know how to drive.
