Operating a fleet of trucks too small to deliver sizeable packages in a profitable manner was huge mistake. Since the 1950s all they've had is tiny little jeep trucks. If it weren't for third-party drivers like you USPS would cease to exist. Amazon's off-the-shelf, non-custom vans have probably double the capacity.

Sadly we no longer need the postal services any more. It’s an out dated system that really didn’t keep up with time..

@@Hyvexx I use Amazon, which uses contractors. I dont mail letters, buy stamps, nor use the Post office. I don't hate the USPS either nor do I want employees to lose their jobs. I just feel that USPS is antiquated and needs help to continue appealing to the younger generation.

The Post Office's all-inclusive method is killing them . Darwin, CA for example is on edge of Death Valley and has a reported 34 residents. Yet, they operate a Post Office anyway. This makes me think that on a location basis, I bet there are hundreds, if not thousands, of locations that individually chalk up negative incomes. USPS focuses on including all people and locations, even those with significant loss. If there are 1000 locations each costing say 100,000 loss per year (rent, upkeep, bills, employees, etc.) then that's 100 million loss in itself. TBH if Darwin, CA didn't have a Post Office for their 34 residents they would probably move back to the city. Losing $4.93 billion last year is an epic failure in itself. Trump recognized this and talked hella smack, yet in his 4 years he did not successfully make any changes to effect USPS long-term growth (in order to stop losing money).
