Patricia Petibon nous fait voyager de l'Espagne (Granados, De Falla) au Brésil (Villa-Lobos), en s'entourant de musiciens de flamenco afin de pimenter ses interprétations de chansons traditionnelles (zarzuelas, mélodies afro-brésiliennes). Autre touche de modernité : l'enregistrement en première mondiale de « Melodias de la Melancolia », un cycle de mélodies composées sur des poèmes espagnols par le Français Nicolas Bacri et dédiées à Patricia. La voix de Patricia Petibon se fait chaude et sensuelle sur ces mélodies envoûtantes. A propos de Rosso, son précédent opus, Le Times avait écrit : « Sa voix est absolument extraordinaire... Cet album m'a rendu totalement esclave d'elle. »
