This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy! - Hry
You know that Immortal's pilots are former Dragoons once you see their logistic problems.
Do 30 Wrathwalkers vs Dehaka.
Marauders and ghosts go flying
22 Thors shooting at only 2 mutalisks.... Massive overkill
Spoilers!
@@RishMustafaev dont read commands before or while the video!
You guessed it, even later today than yesterday! I'm just gonna go ahead and try to make the videos a day in advance.
Hey man, as long as I see a video every day I'm hype!
Do you actually get to make anything off these?
The voids did better vs the archons than I thought they would 🤯
same
Bcs half of the archons were derping on the background waiting for the turn to make 1 attack and die. In a proper fight archons would sneak under voids and smash them. Or at least killed more
@@daniilzhigimont2185 true but then again, the voids could do better with micro behind them.. 🤷
@@whitem00gle They truly could, but micro is more critical for ground units than for air units in a head to head battle
@@whitem00gle Prismatic Alignment slows them so you can't out micro Archons.
It might be fun to see the same fight multiple times but each time you add more to the losing side or remove some from the winning side, and we’d have to guess if that was enough to turn the tide!
I really thought the archons would take it with their splash once they actually closed.
Same. I also didn't expect the zerglings to do so well, although maybe I should've
Not without micro.
With that pathfinding? Not likely.
Do you happen to know the splash radius on their attacks?
@@tyhy1 it's only 1 unit of distance. But I figured the way they clump it would have been enough.
0:54 so many marauders bodies are flying 😂
4/4 today woo
My predictions:
- Ultralisks (historically if a unit can survive the siege tank burst to close in melee they have had a good chance to wreck them, and this was cemented once the surround started)
- Immortals (I went by the old "never bet against immortals" mantra since I assumed the ghosts would make very short work of the Zealots, so it'd have been up to them to carry - and I had faith they'd outlast the marauder damage)
- Void Rays (the whole time I was thinking my bet would be reversed if it were BW Archons)
- Zerglings (I was tempted to vote Thors but seeing the numbers I was expecting a nice surround. Good to see I was not disappointed)
Tbh if the archons moved forward to be under the voids they would’ve shredded them
@@ldragodestroy4 yeah but the units don't usually make room for the backlines to get extra hits in especially in situations like that. If the archon splash was more vicious (which is why I was thinking bw) or they had a surround earlier i can see them winning too
A couple of comments spoiled the archon vs void ray result, but my thoughts for the rest of the fights were very similar to yours, save that I didn't even hesitate with the zerglings. I did kind of wanted the Thors to win, though.
@@AegisKHAOS thors wasted a big time, shooting the two last mutas. maybe they had a better chances if they were focused on zerglings
I thought archon surround + splash would put them over the edge against the voids. Surprised by that one.
All Voids were attacking while like 50% of the Archons weren't. Air units have the advantage in that regard.
Man, those zerlings taking down the Thors looked scary.
Siege Tanks vs Ultras:
Man, we already saw this fight. The Ultras couldn’t even beat the Siege Tanks even when the Tanks started unsieged, what makes you think this’ll make a di-
Oh… oh dear lord those poor siege tanks.
tbf, those ultras got the diet buff and are able to deliver more damage while crowded in return
Had a feeling the ultras would just out tank the tanks. But honestly that was surprisingly close.
If friendly fire wasn't helping the ultras, it might have been a win for tanks.
150 archons could delete 2000 void rays with basic micro, forget derping around in front of 200.
Love your vids btw
More than half of those Siege tanks were destroyed by friendly fire
Archons vs Void was a massive surprise
I love these videos cause you get to see what it would be like if a actual army of hundreds if not thousands of units would do against another army of the same
3/4 Archons fall down the stairs again
3/4 forgot to factor in the splash self-damage siege tanks do against mass melee
"Archons, also no."
JaKaTaK, 5 Reasons Why Void Ray OP
Let a bettlecruiser die behind the tanks in the first fight and you basicly have the hots cinematic
Not fair... the voidrays were magic boxing somehow
Considering resource advantage, the Siege Tanks owned that fight :D Chadmortals winning and Archlosses losing is no surprise. However....I really thought the Thor Marine would take it. I am very impressed at our Zerg bois.
Marines are very good units but a 1-4 ratio against cracklings without stutter step is more doomed than the Dominion in HOTS.
Jesus christ I just got my first 0/4
Thors + Marines absolutely smash the Zerglings + Mutas if you don't frontline the Marines...
how about planetary fortress on the frontline and some tank
Should have put the mauraders in back
If tor are standing in front of marine, i guess they can fight better
so the HOTS Trailer were true..... nice
I'm surprised at how surprised everyone is at Voids vs Archons. But I guess I've never really rated Archons that highly
Archons delete void rays.
Thors failed me! Would’ve finally been 4/4 for once!
I love watching Thor lose.
OK, the thor's anti-air attack is confusing, in some videos it uses missiles, and in other videos it uses the cannons on its back.
Got 2 modes, One with splash (missile) and the other with higher damage (cannon)
Since HotS, the thor can use two weapons against air units: either high-impact cannons, which deal high damage to massive units at a long range, or javelin missiles, which deal high AOE damage to light units at a moderate range.
It take them a bit of time switch between the two configurations, and they're usually used with the missiles against mutalisks and the cannons against broodlords.
insane how good immortals are and how bad archons are..
It ends badly
now do 150 siege tanks but have them spread out that they dont friendly fire each other.
Ghosts and marauders sheesh. No emps? Easy win vs zealots and imms
Do archons not do AOE to air anymore?
Archon splash damage is so small that the Void Rays probably weren’t close enough. Seems like we would need Archon toilet levels of compactness to see much of a difference
@@bobbyferg9173 The archons would have deleted the void rays in 10 seconds with a few move command inputs. But the fight was selected as a strange example of archons somehow losing to void rays i.e idiotic a-move derping
Нужны битвы героев,друг против друга и в связке,то есть пара против пары
3/4. Immortals were stronger than anticipated
Good news is that this cast is on a round clock.
Bad news is that the clock is one hour later than usual.
Also, never bet against immortals.
2/4
4/4
this is the least balanced matchups of all time
Ultralisks Lost the resource war
All 4 winners lost the resource war
Siege Tank friendly fire loosing the fight once again.
Yeah they say tanks counter ultras. Counter my ass.
I mean, resource wise you could have twice as many tanks there and it'd _still_ be cheaper than the ultra brigade (or by direct strike points, you could buy another 74 tanks to equalise their costs), and they still weren't that far off winning with the huge resource disparity as-is. They also say more stuff counters less stuff, after all
all rounds IMbalance..
This clrearly shows how degraded archons area dmg is in sc2. If it was anything like in bw, stacked up air units like this would have been slaughtered in no time. Sc2 archons suck.
