    Always great to hear a full orchestral work reduced to two parts and still sound like it could have originally been a duet. Killin' playing and arranging.

    Very skillfully and artistically performed.
    I'm not a big fan of their sound from their horns.
    My taste would prefer more "center" and "darker" core. This has nothing to do with their mastery of music and their instruments. Maybe it's the brand of their choice of clarinet?

    There is no doubt that they are great clarinetists and the interpretation seems excellent to me. What I don't like is such histrionics in front of the camera. And I don't think it's appropriate to record in different takes and then cut and paste as if it were a film production. I prefer the feeling of listening to a live concert, without montages. But I understand that the ways of disseminating classical music increasingly resemble those of commercial-pop music.

    The director of videography is a bit self absorbed. WAY too much "hip" out of focus "special effects". Doesn't add ANYTHING to the understanding and enjoyment of this interesting moody musical dialog. VERY distracting and ANNOYING! It's ALL about the videographer which I don't think is what the composer had in mind.
    It denigrates the performer's well earned authority to interpret this piece legitimately without external interference.

      I think the videographer did fine. If you think it ruins the song then don’t watch the video. Music is for the ears!

      Robert E Pickup I feel it’s the legere reeds they are using. But I could be wrong

      @saxefoner Před 6 lety +2

      Really dead? No. But the crystal mouthpieces take out some highs, as do the A clarinets. Robert Pickup, what do you want? Give an example. These guys sound great.
