Synopsis:
When Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) & Simran (Kajol) first met on an inter-rail holiday in Europe, it wasn't exactly Love at first sight...but when Simran is taken back to India for an arranged marriage, Love makes its presence felt.
Encouraged by his father Dharamvir (Anupam Kher - Bend it like Beckham & ER), Raj decides to fly down from London to not just win his Bride but her whole family and the blessings of her father Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri - Indiana Jones & Temple of Doom). All this while the celebrations for her wedding are in full swing.
The longest running film in Indian Cinema released on 20th October 1995 and is still showing in Mumbai (India). It won every major award in the year of release & Shah Rukh Khan shot to superstardom with this film and it defined the term "Bollywood".

The most Iconic if not the biggest Indian movie in the ever. I have heard people from all corners of the world appreciate this film. This film really changed Indian cinema and gave it global recognition. Tujhe Dekha(song) is played in cities, villages, etc in Nigeria which is thousands of miles away from India. Fantastic acting, really Kajol and shahrukh should be really proud because no indian movie will ever reach the level this movie has reached.

Its a legendry movie!! I have watched it since my childhood and watch it even now with the same enthusiasm.. After I came to study in Germany I knew the impact of this movie world-wide.. People are mad, crazy about DDLJ about SRK about Kajol.. there is just no limit. And one personal experience I remember is that I was dressed up in indian wear going to attend a friend's party and this german guy in the elevator packed with people looked at me and started singing "Tujhe dekha toh ye jaana sanam" and I was speechless..

I understand story actors direction makes the film but half of the credit goes to Jatin Lalit duo. Without the Music there cannot be DDLJ. This composer is the reason half of SRK movies or other actors are iconic because its the music , bgm which makes us feel the way we feel. They are so underrated.

Our family in Australia saw DDLJ for the first time 2 months ago - loved it! especially my 19 year old heavy metal drummer son! We are so lucky we don't have to wait 20 years to see the sequel! I especially love the making of the bed scene because it just makes my heart flip at the sight of both of them. Not even Indian.....but my late Mom was a fan of AB and my late GrandMama was a fan of the Kapoor clan. I could not be bothered with Bollywood movies....until I heard the OST of DDLJ......as I passed by a cinema hall that was screening the movie. I was curious.....and sneaked in....that scene in the field of yellow flowers............and that deep dimple of SRK...and that unibrow of Kajol.......left a deep impression on me......XD I went back to my correct cinema hall....and went back to watch DDLJ the following week with my family.....and I became a fan.
