      It’s not the worst thing to do it that way, but it won’t be great to tune it and make it pleasant in both front seats, especially if you want to get a single seat tune on it, which would sound rather non-ideal for the passenger.

    The level of detail and competence that goes into this and his other builds are incredible. It wouldn't be cheap but if you want the best then the time and effort he spends on your build is worth it as there are very few places that can even achieve this level of detail and openness in building your car. As a DIY hobbyist that knows how long it takes to do it right and chances of taking it to a shop and the result being less than what I can do myself, I have to say I would actually be glad to pay for the work done here. Well done, I wish you all the best and success.

    The biggest problems I have with building SQ systems, is a) time (I work in a mostly volume shop and we only have 1 salesman) and b) customers don't like the way it sounds when it's tuned...usually "it needs more bass" or "...more highs." I always try to suggest they learn the software and try it out, but nowadays everyone wants to write a check and be done. They won't even learn to set the clock. lol

    Great video, quick question do you ever set the amps as a right side on one amp and left on the other amp? I am looking at cross talk and channel separation. Source aside, don't know how the dsp would deal with gji and is it a problem you have encountered.
    Thank you,
    Keep up the great work
    Hello from Fort Lauderdale. Florida

    • @pssound9749
      @pssound9749  Před 3 lety

      jprieto727 i had problem with that before when using separate amps for separate sides: if there is any difference between the 2 amps in the time domain, then your focus and staging shift randomly depending on how well the 2 amps work in sync. That was enough for me to forget that layout option. New amps have no problem with ch separation, it’s a pointless ideology nowadays based on old amps 40-50 years ago!

    Congratulations again! Great job. You have shown that beauty is not incompatible with effectiveness. One question Peter: if timing is correct in all the drivers, why do you put out of phase one of the tweeters? (thanks in advance for your answering) ;-)

    • @pssound9749
      @pssound9749  Před 3 lety +1

      Jesus Martin because tweeters were running on OEM speaker lines and it’s hard to trace polarity, so it was easier to change it in the DSP. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Problem that I gave on my Bmw 5, and this 6 also has the same problem, is that factory unit has a pre-programmed roll off for bass frequencies especially once you increase the volume from half to higher. Around 14th minute off your video, you are telling that the midrange speakers must be very capable to work with the under seat woofers because they can only play up to 160 to 180 hertz. It made me think and I’ve looked up what the frequency range is of the Focal mids. I saw on the specs of Focal that lowest frequency of the utopia mids are 200 hertz. and in order to HAVE all that you will buy a HYUUUUGELY overpriced "car" that has an engine cooling system with HYUUUUGELY unreliable and short lived PLASTIC parts that cannot readily be replaced..plus all the other wonderful amenities of owning a totally overengineered car that excels in electronics that YOU CAN NO LONGER hope to fix unless you ...oh enough enough..it is a great sound system certainly..so what you do is look for a wreck and deinstall that sound system and TRY to get it going at home ...where you dont have a can bus ..(not yet anyway) Might as well wait for an all electric car then at least you won't poison the air ..Is this amount of fetishism REALLY WORTH IT?????
