This is a small update but honestly, any update would look small compared to 0.27. It's still a good one tho!
i always drive the etk's so them getting an update is a huge deal for me!
Etk k series is my favourite car, been waiting years to finally get a vanilla race variant with all the parts! The 800 series sedan is a welcome addition as well :)
I'm still waiting for dirt and leaves physics such as if you drive over the leaves on automation they will fly up from the wind and dirt will appear and spatter on the side of your car

Just found out that the parts menu has changed! Now instead of a down arrow there are + and - symbols on the parts lists, and when you hover over a part the rest of the car becomes semi-transparent instead of just invisible!
So much neater imo.
@@jwalster9412 Idk man. It does have a cleaner look, but it's so close together it's messy. Increase the spaces a bit then yes it's good
BeamNG has come so far. I'm so impressed with the work of the devs and respect them probably more than any other game developers. The product vs price we have received over the years is unmatched.
The ETKs remaster was awesome, but they sadly "forgot" about the I-series...
Most exciting part for me is a big block for Moonhawk. And yeah, tire physics is needed, as is more FFB customization IMO.

Crazy how many years I've been playing this game and they still haven't hit ver 1.0, doesn't really matter because it just keeps getting so much better all the time.
Neil I did not know you were so cultured… the gran turismo songs! Light velocity got me all nostalgic.
I think its a really good update. We get a refreshed car model, map, and quite a lot of quality of life stuff. Im liking this update a lot honestly
The etk K kc4 street tune is probably my new favorite car. It really has a nice balance between out and out preference and balance. Super planted, doesn't dive into the corners (unlike the V8 versions) and has just enough power to break grip on the slicks.
Man this game is since 2014 the best ever happened to us, this game will be soooo great when it’s out of alpha
Nice to see an update on the Automation test track, it would be a small update because it already looked amazing. The reason why people don't race much on it is because it is a terrible track to drive. I remember the devs saying they made it a test track and not a race track. The corner at the end of the straight is a great example, decreasing radius and off camber, it feels horrible and most people will crash heavily the first couple of times they try. Similarly the corner before the carousel is decreasing radius and flat, really hard to take fast. BTW they used Otago in the South Island of NZ as a basis for the scenery, love that.
Another great thing is that all the corners have names.

My God, the modern ETKs look awesome now! I don't think I get nearly as excited for any game as I get for BeamNG! Dunno why, maybe the realism this game offers does the trick to me! 💗😎🤟

Man, this game has really came a long way,
they should add scratches to the car's paintwork when you crash, dirt too like mud, snow, dust etc
When/if they do someday, that will be a huge game changer. The crashes are gonna look even better. This and tire thermal and wear.
I noticed a pretty nice improvement in performance on the Steam Deck. Now I can bring the TDP down, bring the resolution back up to native 800p, and keep the temperatures & fps a little bit more stable.
I'm using proton Experimental right after proton 8 was officially released, installed internally, all of cryo utilities tools, the default of "1 GB of VRAM" (which is far more stable majority of the time with most games unless your resolution is higher than 800p to an external monitor), and I was using mods that I've never used before that didn't have their shaders cached before hand.
Dude...Flight Sim-level button and switch functionality WOULD be friggin AMAZING!!!
With the new sedan 800 series is i hope modders can use it as a base to add some coupe qnd convertible configurations

for a second i thought you were doing a whole bit about how amazing cars actually are and how technically they are art on wheels, such a complex machine with thousands of hours engineered into it, to make so many parts work in perfect sycronization, of course interupted by very funny moment
I woke up, stretched all the cramps out of my hand which I slept on again. Checked the time on my phone. Opened a new CZcams notification, and it was 10 seconds until the new beamng stream started!
The only thing that would send this game to the stratosphere is VR support. I know it probably won't come but could you just imagine. The devs on this game are amazing. Going to have to give those new camera options a go. I suck at drifting but could add to the immersion.
I would love to see someone make a GT3 version of the K-Series and a DTM one for the 800 sedan

I REALLY miss this game.
i got it back when it was literally JUST gridmap. And the gavril pickup.
but the crash physics have barely changed since those days.
they came up with a concept.
Ultra realistic vehicle collision.
they built it.
They coded it.
they made it work how they wanted.
And THEN they started adding content around it.
Building on the already established framework.
to what you now see before you.
one of sim racings most prestigious physics models.
With so much potential for replay ability.
The sad part?
I haven’t had a working PC in 2 years.
so iv missed out on over two years of you guys all getting to know this game.
This game and a bunch of others. (KSP) (yes,i like physics games)
Only JUST missed the early stages of multiplayer.
and it hurts so much seeing other people get to play it without me.
But.
At the same time.
I am enjoying watching people realise the potential here.
however. There is hope.
this game doesn’t seem to be dieing any time soon.

If a future version of this game is used for testing purposes of real vehicles and scenarios.
especially if the one using it for testing is like the military or a government agency.
That would just spike this game to the levels of DCS (digital combat simulator)

What is even better than this update is the high quality mods on the Beamng forums like Volvo 60 series, Toyota Crown, the Nissan 350z, etc.

Great news!!
Attention all lower end computer users. If you've tried to play unsuccessfully previously, you may want to give it another shot. I could only manage to play Beam at a stuttering 25fps on my old Dell A8 laptop. Essentially unplayable. I tried it again today after the update and I'm able to float around 32fps without frame drops. Huge difference. Can't play with traffic as it grinds the CPU and Ram, but solo on Gridmap is now playable on a once unusable system. Whatever graphical optimizations they did perform helps more than one would realize on slower systems. Installing it on my work PC tomorrow for something to play on my down time and bringing 2x8GB Ram sticks to better my chances. Try it out!

I remember when I found this game through ybr years ago, back then th me biggest Maps were the highway Bridge, and mountain pit. You couldn't run more than 3 cars at a time without lag, and cars welded together if the touched. This game has come so far since then, and I've been excited every step of the way, even though I've never had the chance to play, and no other game has done that.
Not to mention, everyone said mp would be impossible, yet here we are.
I actually like a future where everything in a car is interactable in beamng, you could even in a future roleplay maybe?

Honestly at least from what I've driven so far, the new performance ETK 800s (both the AWD sedan and the RWD wagon) handle awfully. Both are really understeer heavy with nothing but torque vectoring to get you around corners. Not only that, but when the rear wheels do slide it is very difficult to control.
I can tell Neil saw the stream and immediately started the download then ran to the new map and vehicles and speed edited it!

They did actually change the automation map a bit. They added a brand new tunnel starting in the original tunnel going from the bottom of the dam to the top of it.
I know these are small beans compared what will likely be a monstrous JDM overhaul for the Pessimas and 200BX

3 things I e noticed, it’s easier to grind gears when shifting a manual fast, collisions with body in frame vehicles are different, police ai is better.

The texture changes at the test track are kind of dissapointing especially at 2:04
Look at the curbs and wall, almost all dirt has been removed, making it look really flat. Looks kinda weird too with the leaves being on the track but the curbs and wall being clean
And the petrol station works! 🤩

I think only the 2 "Look Ahead" sliders are new, the rest of those driver camera sliders have been there for quite a bit.

Roamer looks good. D-Series looks good, maybe a slight refresh like the ETK in the future. Miramar definitely is due for remaster. Grand Marshall looks good.
I now have a gpu to run this game in Max and man is it gorgeous
