This is how 90s metalcore is chaotic, dark, gritty, brutal and heavy not like myspace era for scene kids
Elitists would’ve still hated
@@BLVDLVST_music why?
@@hereticdeth7986elitits will always hate on things that are different. Been proven time and time again
It became heavier within the years, in the 2000s the instruments became more aggressive, i'm not saying that the bands from the 90s aren't heavy, but in the 2000s it became heavier than it was back then.
2000's melodic metalcore>>>>>
The gatekeepers can deny how much they want but 90's/2000's/2010's never changed that much
90s metalcore sounds absolutely nothing like 2010’s metalcore
@@johnwhite3234 this video says otherwise
@@elzueiromemes “this video” cherry picks newer revivalist metalcore in which its whole purpose is to recreate 90’s hardcore influenced stuff. The vast majority of modern metalcore today sounds almost nothing like the examples in the video
@@johnwhite3234 lol I completely disagree
@@elzueiromemes i literally dgaf
90’s metalcore sounded more punk to me
It's hardcore punk it's metal obviously it's metalcore
Pretty comprehensive look at what I assume are local bands. Interesting to see what was happening during the ages
bro what are you talking about
Pretty big balls saying that bands like Integrity or Kickback are just "local bands"
Parkway Drive’s 2004 Don’t close your eyes ep to me is where the sound of metalcore really became defined. It had metal riffs, breakdowns, two stepping and hardcore punk all mixed into one. I know I’m about to catch hate for this comment but listen to the ep and then come at me lol
Beginings of Metalcore are in Crossover Thrash from Hardcore Punk and Thrash Metal scenes.
Cannot believe Groundwork was in there. I forget anyone knew them
How is 1998 not Dillinger Escape Plan or 1999 not Botch or Poison the Well?
arkangel better
DEP and Botch were Mathcore
I listen to this genre the most and not a single band I knew.
Thanks for mentioning ACME and Groundwork!
Great video but I still wouldn't have included Darkest Hour, they were basically a melodeath band that started the trend of melocore along with early Shadows Fall and such
Darkest hour have always had core influences. There early stuff is definitely core.
Melodeath to metalcore is how death metal is to thrash metal lol, same ppl listen to it, same people play it, both are basically same genre besides vocals and some instrumental differences
These are some good music recommendations :D
In 2003 should be Throwdown.
finally a video that doesn't just cover scene kid bands
I literally have no idea how this is the evolution of MetalCore.... I don't even know what I just watched. Love the bands, but not seeing the connection.
because metalcore dropped its hc element around the mid 2000s. kind of sucked after that every band just became a fucking darkest hour rip off with no connection to hc at all
90's metalcore is more like hardcore punk / noise rock
I dont think so, is more metal tingled hardcore than it
Definitely not
That is New School Hardcore with some simlarities to Post Hardcore but played harder. Some of those band from this list are New School HC not Metalcore or Metallic Hardcore.
And its 🤘 sound 😎
their sound isn't hardcore punk, pure missinformation comparative about this with pseudo metalcore like asking Alexandria, this is what metalcore should be, why do you think its called metalcore in the first place?
@@mrnordyk1125 No digas mamadas, Mary jane.jpg
No Etid is kinda wild
And they didn't feature on the mathcore video either
Tears of gaia,morning again,perfect era
*Evolution of Hardcore Punk: Metallic Hardcore ( aka Nu school of Hardcore ) - Metal Hardcore - Metalcore*
The term metalcore is getting seriously stretched in this one
no it isn’t this is real metalcore no metalcore band after 2005 takes influence from hardcore it’s just at the gate riffs. kind of sucks ngl
@@cigarettecat3981metalcore is a just mix of beatdown hxc elements with the metal. If you hear breakdowns, 010101 or 2steps within metal riffs than it's metalcore. Term metalcore started to be used by bands only in 2003's shai hulud record. Before it it was just a hardcore, edge metal, crossover or beatdown hxc.
@@arthurasatrian9044🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Yep this Is Metallic Hardcore only
90s metalcore = Metallic Hardcore
No shai hulud??
I came here to find overcast and killswitch engage?
I feel like what passes as modern hc today is really just throwback metalcore. Also. Grindcore is what deathcore is trying to be lol
What? Lol grindcore has been around since the 80's. Deathcore's only been around since the 90's-2000's.
It started as nyhc like madball and agnostic front but it really wemt downhill after the 00s....
Earth Crisis is so based
Well, I'm confused. Modern metalcore makes me vomit, but the 90's were cool. In the same time, I sometimes hear d-beat und crust? What the hell is metalcore then?
Hi. Need the documental of sv3rige call music where say the true of music and world labels and how manipulate the music .thanks
No Bullet for my valentine, killswitch engage, as i lay dying, all that remains, five finger death punch and etc.
That's the point lmao
Remember what they took from you
I was with you until about 2006 and on. Bro I started listening to metalcore around this time and have no fucking idea who any of those bands were from that point forward. 2005 The Devil Wears Prada would have been the best example for that year, 2006 Bring Me The Horizon, 2007: Parkway Drive, 2008: I Set My Friends On Fire, 2009: Asking Alexandria. I don't know what you chose after 2009 cause i stopped watching being like wtf?
None of those bands are metalcore, they're 'melodic metalcore' which is an entirely different style
@@mathewbouse1105 I guess we just have a different take on it. I still consider them metalcore. They all still kind of follow under the same umbrella. No point in playing semantics.
Punk Metal and Metalcore are not the same... Punk Metal is an hybrid of Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk New School and Metalcore mixes Everything
metalcore is a mixture heavy metallic hardcore/crossover (cro maqs biohazard Crumbsuckers) with pure and common metal (slayer obituary Voidvod black Sabbath Celtic frost and etc)
Isn't punk metal just hardcore
Didnt see A Day Once Dead in this list. Not really surprised, just disappointed.
Every year it's getting wrost in every genre
Missed All that Remains, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage
the whole list should’ve been a h8000 circle jerk
I miss Atreyu, Avenged and August Burns Red
those are melodic death metal with hardcore screaming, Not real Metalcore
@@michaeledward5201 as i lay dying is metalcore as fuck wtf
@@mogsillo0221 hahaha don't joke me it looks like melodic death metal with screaming (typical modern metal band) , it isn't even Edge metal
Black Metal evolution will be ?
Metallic hardcore
I hear no "evolution".. maybe "involution" lol
death metal evolution will be ?
have you annoying gatekeepers heard of that sound (poison the well, first avenged and killswitch album, hopesfall) that links metallic hardcore to melocore at all
This is hardcore+ punk+ trash+ death. What u call metalcore is actually Emocore not metal at all
This is Metalcore!!! What Metalcore should have been, not electronic crabcore bullshit with drop c riffs, sorry men Facts
This is hardcore not metalcore
yes it is. usually when someone refers to hardcore, theyre either referring to beatdown or traditional metalcore.
Its metalcore
@@michaeledward5201 metalcore sounds like hardcore
@@galvinrai3623 wrong its mixture metal & hardcore so its metalcore, what kind of bands do you re comparing me? dont try jokingwith typical pseudo metalcore like asking alexandria or bmth doesn't make sense
@@michaeledward5201 it has pure influence of bands like biozhard and madball with some metal like metallica and iron maiden can't you see so it is hardcore too with breakdowns sl it is metalcore
Current metal core is better in my opinion
7:30 is actually pretty good
