  • In case you have been absent from the automotive landscape the past few years; Volvo is a brand that has been on an upward run. The new XC90 SUV is fantastic, the upcoming XC60 aims to be amazing, and the flagship S90 sedan seen here will knock your socks off. Prices range from $46,950 for the base Momentum FWD to $55,450 for the Inscription AWD model seen here.
    Volvo’s design language for their new models has been more than excellent and the win streak continues here with the S90 sedan. The good looks command a great presence out on the road. Under the hood is a Supercharged and Turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is 22 MPg in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. If you are amazed by the exterior design of the car, you will not be disappointed by the interior look and feel. The blend of leather, metal, and wood work together perfectly.

    The button at 2:44 is for auto hold not the auto start stop system.

  • @bobbywilliams6536
    @bobbywilliams6536 Před 7 lety +4

    The button by by the driving mode is auto stop, so once you come to a complete stop, you can remove your foot from the brake petal and the brakes stay on.

    Great review.. but i would have like to have seen/heard more about the back seat, trunk etc.. People that buy in this segment often use it for hauling other adults around, so the back half of the car is sometimes as important as the front.. Thank You.

    It's too bad Volvo didn't maintain the relationship with Yamaha. I don't care that it's not efficient. This needs a NA V8.

  • @ivanlowjones

    Uh.. Jeff? The button (A) behind the electronic parking brake is for the auto-hold braking feature, not the start/stop button. It's the same in the XC90 as well. Great review otherwise as usual.

      you’re wrong. It’s the (P) that’s the hold braking. The (A) is the auto start/stop. It’s the same in every Volvo. I have an XC40.

    I would like the car to break for a giant walking tree as well. That shit would put a dent in the car if you hit it.

    Really good looking is a matter of opinion as always, I can't say it floats my boat inside or out that said Volvo's never have. Sounds like good value though.

    This will not average 30 mpg combined, not even the EPA gives it this rating. In this trim, with this output, you are looking at 20-22 mpg in real-world driving if you calculate it by hand and don't rely on the overly optimistic trip computer. Volvo's are not known for being particularly efficient and this latest wave of 4 cyl. engines are not nearly as efficient as they claim to be.

    They really should provide a method to turn off the auto start/stop permanently like BMW. Big fail, I will keep looking.

  • @MediKombi
    @MediKombi Před 6 lety +1

    Jeff, this was a terrible review. You didn't talk about how practical the car was, you didn't talk about the rear seats, you didn't realize that the buttons that were "mixed up" are two different features...one is start/stop, the other is for the Auto Hold Assist...additionally, there were too many "puns" in this review that ended up being shallow and forced. Hopefully someone else can redo this review because it was lacking in information, description, and almost any useful information.

  • @kajornt

    • @Littleathquakes
      @Littleathquakes Před 5 lety

      Kajorn Thamsuriya he didn’t say it was the start stop button, ie the one that starts the car. He said it’s the auto start/stop button, which initiates turning on/off the engine during braking to conserve gas, the which it is. You’re like the 4th comment in this video that has gotten this wrong.

      @@yiyiskblue8 - no, if you look up the car's VIN numbers, the country code indicates that it is made in China. I have already been considering buying one, then when I did some research and checked the VIN numbers, that's how I found out. It's been published and is no secret that's where these are built.
      Some of Volvo's other vehicles may still be built in Sweden, but not the S90.
