1:03 I love how the melody evolves from there. It steadily gets more intense and sounds as if you're falling down a gigantic fiery pit into the deepest bowels of hell.

Nostalgic. Back in 1999 I launched this game for the first time with my brothers and we started a hotseat game in one scenario (Ascension, I think) with random civs. I got Inferno, with Calh as starting hero.
His themes remind me of music from old fantasy films of the 70s-90s. It's a wonderful feeling vibe of exoticness, mysticism and mystery.
When you are working on Monday and it's summer.
No metal music can come close to this level of "evil feeling" and i listened to hundreds of metal songs but this is just another level.
Metal is not evil and it doesn't intend to. Most metal at least.
@@bencepandi3568 songs like this are meant to sound sinister or evil and almost all dead and black metal tries to recreate feeling in this song.And some power metal only in more campy way.Even "normal" sounding bands like Kamelot have this moments ever heard their song March of Memphisto now that is also some sinister shit.

@@doritofan80 The HD remaster is just fine for what it is. The downside is that the code for Armageddon's blade and Shadow of Death is lost for good, that's why those are not included in the Remaster.

Imagine having the guts to attack Inferno in real life. You lead your army through barren wasteland to a nearby hill where this view clears up. You request binoculars to have a better look, but all you see are torn souls screaming in pain as they’re forced to work all day in this unbearable heat. Whip-wielding Pit fiends mercilessly beat everyone in sight. Those who are too weak to carry on are thrown to the cages where they are devoured down to the bone by the Cerberi. Some slaves try to escape, but are quickly captured and sent to Pit Lords. You watch in horror as they perform a twisted satanic ritual and sacrifice them all on a massive altar. Then they’re resurrected as deformed horned beasts. (0:49) Your heart starts pounding, your thoughts are racing. You haven’t been spotted yet, but a sinister presence of the Arch devil starts drawing near. Few moments later your troops report hearing demonic voices in their head. Others feel like they’re going insane. The morale abandons your troops and you immediately order to leave this forsaken place before countless magogs guarding the outer perimiters hear you and sound the alarm. You will return one day and have revenge.

Loved this theme so much, that I switch the file with dungeon, since Dungeon / Alamar was my favourite race / hero. :-) Really awesome, even now I get chills listening to this soundtrack.

It's pretty brilliant when you think about it though. Everybody thinks hell is deep beneath the ground, when in fact it's far beyond the heavens. When demons don't burst from the ground, but come raining from the skies. ;)
Apparently there are different kinds of demons in HOMM3. Heroes Chronicles has Tarnum fighting demons who probably aren’t Kreegans in “Conquest of the Underworld,” and possibly also in “Masters of the Elements.”

As a child, I did not like the Inferno theme. Absolutely.
It wasn't until years later that I learned to enjoy this macabre drama in a few acts. It perfectly sets the tone and atmosphere of the city. All two minutes is a whole story. Just feel...
0:00 You are a prisoner of the Kreegans. You are led into the city in chains. Each new beat of the tambourine is a new unpleasant detail that opens up to your eyes. With every second you understand more clearly - it's rubbish.
0:48 A few moments of silence. Like a creepy lullaby lulls your guard.
1:04 But now the anxiety builds up again. New tools are coming into play. You return to this nightmare.
1:20 Here you are in the slave market. Devils, demons, Ifrits and Spawns bargain, argue and decide your fate. And every new assumption gets worse and worse for you.

Not shitty exactly. Good 2nd, 6th and 7th level unit. Before you go and say that Devils are weak, yes they are weaker than most of their lvl 7 counterparts, but the no retaliation plus enemy morale decrease are great bonuses. If caste haste on them, you'll be sure to take two swings with no retaliation from the enemy.

You have 6th and 7th level unit who can go right behind the enemy gates. And yes...only 1 ranged, but Fortress and Rampart has only 1 as well.
That's the trouble. Inferno is good against leadership heroes, but Undead UTTERLY steamroll them in any way.
just my opinion. dont know if its fact but and fortress are insane. these lists focus too much on magic and treat units on stats. if u max fortress on defence with a hero like tazar yyou are nearly unkillable. 85% dmg reduction is not possible with any spell in the game. Also fortress gets acces to lvl 6 unit on day 3! They are stat wize pretty weak i admit but they will be more numerous. Combine that with the best 1 lvl unit and fast flyer in lvl 3. I'd say fortress is one of the strongest towns
