I’ve had 3 knee replacements and this is the only way to get your strength back. It’s painful, but necessary! Don’t give up to those who are saying they can’t lift their leg 2 weeks out. You’re quads have to fire and once they do, you’ll be great!
Thank you for this video! It’s a great reminder!

@@aptp_diaries2963 I was surprised with how quick her recovery has been. It's been just over 2 months and she's walking further now than she did before. She will need blood thinners for 2 weeks after the surgery to prevent blood clots, physiotherapy to correct posture and to help straighten the new joint. Your mum will be a completely new person a few months after the surgery. The constant pain she feels from her arthritis can be more painful than the surgery and the recovery process. It's great to see someone who's lived in pain get excited about being able to walk along the beach and do the simple things that we take for granted.

I really appreciate this. It shows new things that my physical therapist hasn't even mentioned. They spend most of their time getting me to isolate my glutes and the VMO muscle, yet two months out I still can't get up and down off the ground or ride my street bike. I'm looking for a new one. I am healing very well however and rarely have any pain; when I do it is fleeting so I'm happy and look forward to getting the other knee done soon.

Not very realistic. I’m one week out of total knee replacement and I can not possibly do half those exercises because I have to use a big PT band around my foot just to lift my affected leg on/off the bed. I am getting at round fine with a walker and doing the ankle pumps, muscle stretches, etc. to lift my leg/foot off the floor with a walker I am mainly using my hip to raise the foot.

For the doctors, its all about extracting money from the patients. When I had my knee replacement, I slept all night. Physical Therapy began the first morning and again at night for 2-3 days. Once you leave the hospital, you begin go to Physical therapy everyday for the next 30 days except for the weekend. I reached my goal in 2 weeks. I wanted to leave therapy because i met my goal, but they chewed me out and coerced me to keep coming. The woman pressured me to finish the last 2 weeks of PT. She insisted I still needed to go. (Why would a person still need to attend PT when they already met their goal? ) I'll tell you why. Because if you don't keep coming for the 30 days, they lose big money. Its all about MONEY.
