A VISIT TO PENANG HILL | Sunrise, Train and Hiking Trail

- We dragged ourselves out of bed at 5am to go and watch the sunrise from Penang Hill!
We took the Penang Hill train in the dark, watching the lights of Penang twinkle below us. There were only 10 of us on the train so we had the whole hill to ourselves!
Was the sunrise at Penang Hill worth the early morning start?
We then went for a walk along one of the hiking trails and felt like the only 2 people in the world!

Penang Hill is just so beautiful in the morning.. Wow!
Hi Azzura! It was so beautiful and we just loved hearing the jungle creatures on our morning walk. The morning is definitely the best time of day! :) Glad you enjoyed the vlog

Hi Ploar! You are so right, it is difficult when starting out but it's the lovely comments like this that keep us going so thank you and thank you for subscribing :)
Wow, I think not many locals have seen the cloud top of the hill👍🏻👍🏻
It was so beautiful, we felt very lucky 🤗
I was serving in the RAAF on a posting to Air Base Butterworth in 1974-77 and again 1978-1980, the married quarters were on Penang island and Penang hill was a favourite place to get away from the heat and humidity at night and during the day sometimes depending on the prevailing weather. Back in the early to mid 1970's the rail cars moved slower and were made of wood. There are examples at the Penang museum, well there used to be. The construction of the hill funicular railway was instigated by the British way back in the 1920's I took super eight movie footage of the railway way back in the 1970's, the hill was very different then.
Cool video. Epic adventure. I subscribed. ✌️

The hill brought back lots of pleasant memories. The last time I was there was 30 years ago. I remember the monkeys! Back then, the train was made of wood and pulled with cable. Thank you for showing the latest development on the Hill. Great video.
Everyone loves Sunrest and Sunset. Where the secrets of the day begins and ends.
Liked your video look forward to watching more
Thank you glad you enjoyed it! 🙌

You guys should stop a night or two in Ipoh. Its about 1.5 hours from Penang mainland
Hi Kennyancg! We have left Malaysia HOWEVER we most certianly want to go back so we will look into Ipoh! thank you for the suggestion🙃
Stunning morning shots . Walking up the hill is a challenge, we have done it twice . The UK tv series Indian Summers was filmed in the stately homes on the hill . The street scenes were filmed in Armenian street. Penang in my eyes is a stunner . Good video and very educational.
The view is mesmerising. Wish I was there

Hi Kelvin! No unfortunatley we have moved on, we hope to go back in the future though!
Oic, yea I just watched your video till the end and you said it’s your last day and heading to Langkawi. Nvm, till we have the chance to meet in future. I can be your guide to bring you explore more inner places of Penang.
Enjoy your Langkawi days and the rest of your Asia tour. Penang always welcome you back
@@kelvingoh954 that is so lovely of you and we would love to take you up on that offer when we head back thank you 🙌😁
Yea, just give me a heads up in advance so I can arrange my day off for it to bring you around Penang island and the mainland (Wellesley Province) and also nearby places like Ipoh which just 1.5hours drive from Penang. Where there’s lots of limestone hill to explore. Not to worry, expenses on me. 🥳
believe it or not, Malaysian people preffer to see misty hill than sunshine. I'm not joking.
Hi Rain, I can totally understand that. It was still beautiful to watch and a highlight of our time in Penang 😊
please speak clearly and slower
