I so miss the days when if you wanted someone to see your photo you just... posted it. Its like Instagram took their fundamental function away and now we have to "hack" it with all these tricks just to get back to where we started 😂 i do bloody love your channel! And really appreciate your videos. Does the way things have turned out on instagram annoy you?
I enjoyed this because as someone who feels pretty in tune with when I am doing something “scammy” I agreed with your perspectives on these trends. We want to share our work and have it be appreciated, but we also don’t want to be inauthentic.
Awesome take and liking the serious face with a bit of humor injected in your explanations! Am learning about growth on IG so definitely more would be nice. Anyway, thanks for the vid, happily subscribed.
Thank you for sharing! I'm literally laughing because you're absolutely right, and I never questioned it before-quite unsettling, isn't it?! Naughty. Naughty. haha😄
The thing for me is not to worry about it. Many of my followers are my friends. I have tried some of these naughty tricks before and they didnt work. 😅 The best thing is to share your work. The best pictures always get more engagement.
Interesting video, no many people are talking about those naughty tricks. But to be honest the only trick I've seen so far on my feed is the one to read the captions, could you mention one or another profile doing it? Oh, and of course we want part 2 (clever boy you) 😎
Agree on all of them except the location info. I've certainly had other photographers get mad when I inquire about it and the location isn't added or it's vague -- they'll say "I did research, you can too" (despite being kind about asking) but for those of us that do respect nature and respect each country's laws and cultures, it helps to plan out a route and feasibility -- there are some gorgeous sights to be seen, but I'm not risking my life on a difficult trail to get there.
I noticed a couple of these recently, especially the first one - infuriating. But also great tips for those who don't mind a bit of dirty business. Please do more.
Great inisights, as per usual. I spend a lot of time on Instagram and do see these kinds of tricks happening. Some i was not aware of bu thanks for sharing.
Threads and Vero have great communities and Twitter user to be really good. There is a new one on the way which I should be covering in my next video too.
So who’s most naughty? One who made one of the naughty tricks? Or the person who makes a long monetised YT video about all the naughty videos which can create more naughty videos? 😂 Said in a humorous voice! I do like this content as it gives me a better understanding of these trends - some I find super annoying/sad but some I didn’t like but get a better understanding of by now. So keep going 💪
I think some people are so intent on growing on ig that they ruin their profile by doing these trendy uninteresting boring reels or 10 photos of the same thing for a carousel. They destroy their unique personality. It’s unfortunate. I’ve lost interest in many of these people that I used to really be interested in and interact with.
I’ve grown very tired of reading the “info in caption” reels. As soon as it say that or I see the first few lines talking about the thing in the reel I skip immediately.
As someone who has fallen for a lot the these more cheap ones, they kinda pissed me off. So when someone does them I skip past. I refuse to do these. Storytelling in my photos and reels, if people dig it cool, if not then cool too.
I lost interest in Instagram many moons ago. The one thing I very rarely get recommended is content from genuine photographers which is a shame. My feed seems full of bikini clad women half my age. No idea why as it isn’t something I search for….. honest 😂
Yes, they are. The influencer economy is huge and almost all my photography clients are prioritising shortform content as their main form of content marketing. However, I don't think I said anywhere in this video that the intention is to make money. Sometimes it's fun to have fun and enjoy life.
Read the caption is the reel is the naughtiest, because they then write a whole essay for you to read.
I know right, they have no chill.

Thank you! It sure does! That’s why I spend more time on other socials now.

It's a blurry line and sometimes it's ok to be on either side.

Thanks Gabriel!

From consuming point of view I like those vibey rapid photos when paired with great music.

I need to try the "sharing my photography" trick for my art. :) Please tell us more tricks! ;)

My pleasure dude
I really should pay more attention to my socials
Only if you feel the benefit. Social media has never felt such a slog for most.
Any good alternative of instagram for sharing my photography..

@@ItsJonnyKeeley There is 'a new one' on the way which I should be covering in my next video too." < Ohh, I see what you did there 😏
Right! more details on that in the description.
that tree was cut down
The responsibility of not sharing everything at once is a beautiful dirty trick...
Right!
1:27 i hate those people

Some do the fast action slideshow so fast and flickery, it's almost seizure-inducing. Must put some folks off, surely
I know it’s wild

Im doing a Sharing my Photography trend on insta and tiktok! I'm having fun doing it while gaining followers and views!

#instagram Reels suck!
Seriously do you really think photographers are getting work from there reels, I don’t think so! Likes do not pay the bills!
