I like how they made this look and sound like it's from 1965.
Yall make it look so easy lol. Great video thanks. Going to do my 300 2.7 timing and headgaskets.
Did you do your head gaskets how hard was it ?
I got the same engine. And need both of them change. Thinking about just junking it. Probably will cost to much to fix it. Man just can't get a break 💔
@@michaelwashington2682 yea unfortunately it would be wise to junk it. Shops don't want to fix them for a reason.
how'd it go?
@@bossman8231 I'm having problems with my tensioner it will not pop out
Great video if you have the ability to remove the engine from the car first.and special tools required.
(watches video, calls up Snap On tool dealer, parks truck in front yard until job is done)
Gracias su video me ayudó mucho mi Hefe se creía k era más fácil
Very very important thank you for your video
Just changed head gaskets on my 2.7 and need to time it, it’s confusing how do you it while the motors still in the car? And if you didn’t place any marks before hand
My 2008 Chrysler 300 2.7l timing jumped while changing our the lifters. How do I put it back in correct time?
Buy a Toyota
@@fladave99 Toyota has the word toy in it for a reason
@@DemonEmbarasser Did you know that the toyota logo is actually a NEDDLE AND THREAD because toyota used to make sewing machines. BMW logo is a spinning airplane propeller because they started out as an airplane propellor company. The oldest manufacturing company in the world is Beretta arms that started out making gun barrels in the 1400's.
@@fladave99 I always thought it was a weiner with a halo
@@DemonEmbarasser Like the Amazon without the halo. PAss the mustard
So service info tells me to have my cams in the 12 o clock position how do I rotate them to align the bolt holes without moving the timing marks out of the 12 o clock position?
After the one revolution turn at the end of the video are my timing marks going to line up with the colored links still or not?
How do you take the crank shaft sprocket I'm doing an oil pump and I need to know how to take it off and put it back on
Can you also do the video but with the engine inside the car? thanks
Why is my crank timing mark at the 1 o'clock position instead of 5?
Because this is an interference engine, is there reason for concern if/when the cam rotates as soon as the fasteners are removed?
The tension in the system causes that. We need only assure that the alignment of crank and cams are as described in this video when installing the new chain.
Sorry, but you're just wrong. We also need to keep it from rotating during the removal if we're at all concerned about letting the pistons smack into the valves and destroying the engine. That's what makes this repair unnerving for a novice, at least on interference engines. I did this procedure 8 months ago after a ridiculous amount of research. A tiny bit of movement as witnessed on the cam sprockets is normal, I'll give you that, but they'd move much further and cause catastrophic damage if they weren't secured before removing the final fasteners.@@jeromebarry1741
Funny how they don't mention a thing about replacing the piece of shit water pump while it's all torn apart.
How do i turn the crank sprocket to align with oil pump
Put the crank bolt back in
Make sure your camshafts aren't turning with crank....
is this the same for the two different chains ?? and I'm not talking about the main chain and cam chains, my main chain is smaller.
My 2.7 has a main chain with smaller teeth, it's also flex fuel so I don't know if that's why it's different. any input???
The timing chain and the water pump should be changed at the same time so as not to have to go back in later and remove all the components such as the radiator to get to one or the other again. A lot of $$$ in labor hours at the shop to get to either component. May as well do both at the same time.
I got a 2008 Dodge Charger that I bought when it first came out and my water pump fucked up, instead of paying $1,500 to fix it and everything I might as well paid an additional thousand dollars and had a new engine rebuild, it's like buying a brand new car again
