I played this game recently when it came out on PC. All I can say, absolutely loved every bit. So, I am very much looking forward to your reaction to the story and the world. By far the best Samurai game made till now.

I totally agree! It’s one of the only 5 platinums I have, I never try to platinum but fell in love with it and the story and even got the art book. I’m always jealous seeing those I sub to playing this for the first time, I wish I could again! I can’t wait for the sequel’s announcement.
@@MalachiPlaysGames RIGHT!? I adore this game so much. I feel like platinuming it is almost a requirement. It just feels so natural and not at all out of the way to do. I WANTED to platinum it, which is so rare. Considering that most open world games feel like a grind and a chore to 100%.

Fun fact! The creative director as well as the game director were named ambassadors for the actual island of Tsushima! Their portrayal of the real-life island has been approved by the local government and that made tourism on the island skyrocket ever since! There are tons of locations that are meticulously recreated in the game!
Why arent the employees ambassadors as well
@@sumairshiraziprobably because they just created what they were told to. The creative director would’ve been the one to research the locations and give the outline to the employees to actually create. So the reason it portrays the area so accurately is because of the director wanting it to and not wanting the game to just make it have the “feel” of what Tsushima is like. Yeah the actual designers made it, but they just do what they’re told, it’s thanks to the director that they made it accurate to the real thing

@@sumairshirazi eh, it would be nice, but I also totally get not giving it to them here. As they weren’t the ones who decided to portray it so well, they just did the work they were told to do. Which yes, is what is needed for it to have looked the way it did, but I also get maybe they can’t go giving out ambassadorship to like 50 people for a game. Doesn’t really mean much at the end of the day anyway
Also how a Torii gate in Tsushima was destroyed by a flood (I might be wrong with those details) and how gamers raised money for the recovery and even surpass it.
The peakest Samurai/Ninja game to ever peak.
A fun not spoiler tip. Swipe left on the touch pad to play a tune and make the weather nice and sunny. You can do this any time in the game if you don't like the current weather.
I’ve played this game like three times and I did not know playing a tune changes the weather.

Hiroyuki Sanada who played the Toranaga in Shogun is rumoured to be Lord Shimura in the live action film adaptation of this game, they've got the John Wick director & stunt team working on it too.

@@CraigJudd That's his japanese dub actor Kazuya Nakai. Daisuke Tsuji is Jin's english voice actor and model. Don't blame you for mixing them up, since he also has a japanese name which isn't common for english voice actors.
@@JB-ci8fc Oh, I see - No, I'm used to Japanese voices, I just don't watch One Piece so I read the factoid about "Zoro's voice actor" and figured it meant the English dub. :P
One of the most satisfying platinum trophies I've done. The side quests, the characters, the combat, the story...*chef's kiss*

Yes, I wish more games would take a cue from this one for their trophies. You literally can get the platinum just playing and exploring the game. There aren't any nonsense trophies like "hop on one foot while balancing an arrow on your forehead when the moon is at its biggest in the night's sky".
This game plus Days Gone have been some of my absolute favorite platinums ever, they were so fun to get and nothing was too challenging. I loved in Days Gone the good heart that Deacon has and I loved that with Jin as well
Getting the platinum for this game was a journey through this beautiful world, doing amazing things like haikus and rescuing crickets
And the DLC (which has different dialog if you play it before or after finishing the story, I think it makes more sense after since it was released a year after the game came out) has even more experiences to have especially with animals

I played this game day 1 on release, it was instantly one of my favorite games. Even today, the sound track still brings a tear to my eye, not only is it beautiful in context, but I listened to this ost during a very difficult time in my life, and so it still brings me a lot of comfort. Can’t wait to see the rest of your playthrough to this masterpiece of a game

Because of Ghost, every time gaming companies are making games based in Japan, and I know I shouldn’t do this but my expectations for them are set high to the same level as Ghost! This game is THAT phenomenal!
This has been on my list for games I wanted to see you play since I found the channel. I was absolutely blown away by the game when I played it from the story to the graphics and the cinematic quality the cutscenes really immerse you into this beautiful and deadly world.

Ghost of Tsushima is a masterpiece and it's one of my all time favorite games. Jin Sakai is a great character he's Samurai Batman and I love him.

I think there’s an option in the settings to not show masks in cutscenes, so if you want to wear a cool mask but are afraid of looking like a goofball in cutscenes, you can do that

This is a game I would call perfect. Makes you feel like a badass and the music combined with the art direction is crazy

This is legitimately one of the greatest games of all time. As others have said. I’d HIGHLY recommend doing AS MUCH as you can in this game. Take your time, explore some stuff, try out different combos and skills, and don’t worry about beating this game super quick. Not saying you need to 100% the game and take 60 hours on it, but don’t push to try and beat it in like 20. 40 is a great mix in my opinion.

I just finished watching the vid & I loveddd seeing you geek at out so much stuff 🤣🤣 The first few kills at castle kaneda and your hype on them, the standoffs (which is one of the best aspects in the game), the graphics, the opening title drop sequence. I loved your reaction to everything! Supplies definitely help in the long run when you need to upgrade stuff or craft something so always feel free to take your time looting areas. Same goes for checking out the map in general, it’s so easy to get lost in all the side stuff but it all contributes to getting technique points and getting upgrades for health etc.
Absolutely excited to see the rest of this and especially when you get even better gameplay with future unlocks/techniques. You’re gonna love it way more and be so addicted

I've always loved that intro where Jin asks his father for help and the wind answers. That's his father's spirit guiding him in his journey! So cool!

A good friend of mine swore to me that I had to play this back when I had taken a bit of a break from gaming (RDR2 basically ruined games for me bc I compared everything I played to it). I eventually came around and was blown away; it brought me back to gaming & is one of my favorite of all time. Combat’s super rewarding, story is interesting & the world Sucker Punch built is gorgeous. Excited to see your reaction to it!
Give Kingdom come a Try only game that really feels alive. Kingdom come 2 is talking inspiration from RDR2 with how you can interact witb NPCs.

What you should notice in the opening horseback riding scene is the clear display of Japanese humility. The game logo doesn't appear when the music reaches its peak, and the notes themselves don’t hit the 'climax' but instead return to lower tones, continuing the melody. Meanwhile, you're left wondering whether this is a cutscene or if you can control the character. The game is designed so that the horse naturally heads toward a river, prompting you to instinctively steer the controller to avoid it. This one scene alone showcases the developers' meticulous attention to detail.

This game for me when it released was game of the year for me game was absolutely stunning and loved every second of it like plenty of comments have said to you you are in for a treat and a rollercoaster of a ride and when you was on about hoping the story is as good as the intro of the game without spoiling anything I can confirm that the story is just as good as that intro keep a eye out for a yellow bird as they will take you to places of interest and also keep a eye out for meditation places there are loads across the map

Nice pick Skyy 🫡! Ghost of Tsushima was the very 1st game I played on my PS5 in 2021, have played through story 3 times. Love the mythical paint type aesthetics too. It was my fave game until I played Red Dead 2 and now it’s my 3rd fave with God of War 2018 being my 2nd but this holds a lot of sentimental value as it was my 1st game I had played in almost a decade of not gaming. Hope you enjoy Jin’s journey, looking forward to this playthrough 👍🏽👍🏽.
