Yes exactly, this level of power goes further then some client side anti cheat on your local machine. You woudn't be able to spawn bots and lootboxes and give remote players cheats.
What Thor is missing @6:54 is that Genburten didnt get the chat message when his aimbot activated (shooting the arrows). The message came with the pop up, not when aimbot was acitivated.
The hacker is already quite well known in the community, he's 'griefed' more so trolled various other streamers in the category just to make a name for themselves. Their objective isn't that clear and it doesn't seem entirely malicious. The problem is this person has this much access
Exactly. He directly told Mande he loves playing the game, but doesn't have enough time to "git gud". Instead of grinding the game, he hacked it to have fun for the limited time he gets to play.
Do people forget when they (probably not destroyer2009) targeted everyone in Apex and had the menu for trios link to a website about Titanfall 2 being broken while still selling it? EA seems to be compromised, and they are aware of it but can't acknowledge it due to the potential fallout.
this is correct. being able to put thousands of packs on an account, programming dozens of bots to get into one players game and execute commands etc. That's actual base admin level control. Man is turning live apex into R5
Tufi was probably the best person when it came to breaking the game. He had the ability to cause mass havoc. He went above and beyond in terms of controlling apex servers
If you played any public servers in cs go or cs1.6 when you join new server you download files , which could be same with apex. The hacker got into server
I’m a CSS for a bank in Canada. Destroyer has already backdoored everything necessary to be able to see what he needs to for creating his own code to apply in up and running game lobbies. There has been a video with him loading servers with only characters hes created himself with a DS. He can make his own lobbies, he can occupy lobbies with only characters he selects, have them on pause, add/remove players, obviously allow cheats and apply cheats or hacks to whichever character necessary. He has all the necessary access to be able to do ANYTHING he wants to do, he’s bypassed something and is likely taking position as a dev meaning he has all the same access and abilities that they would. What he’s done with Hal and gen is very minimal compared to what he can do. If he isn’t inside already (actually somebody working for EA) then he’s just found a way to allow himself enough access (obviously remotely) bypassing all security (if there even is any with this shit company) to be able to do what he wants. What this guy is saying in the video is completely incorrect, (at very minimum this guys computer is compromised). No, incorrect, this isn’t through gen or Hal’s computer, this is on the servers end, I assume he has no background on what destroyer has done before. Interesting that he’d even think that as a 20+ year CSS with blizzard credentials. Cute assumption though. Full of himself even when he’s completely wrong.
Yeah, Hal downloading something doesn't explain how ENTIRE LOBBIES in ranked have been filled with Destroyer named clones that just chase single targets...
Similarly to Thor, you also missed context and jumped to the conclusion that he is full of himself, despite the fact that he began his analysis with an upfront acknowledgment that he was only going to know "a little bit" about what is potentially going on here. I know Thor doesn't regularly play Apex, in fact, I am fairly sure he has never played Apex or has barely ever played Apex. He knows nothing about the esports side or the community, and doesn't even know the game features beyond FPS basics. This was the first piece of information he got about any of this, which is why he has an initial theory which is the more likely circumstance in most cases similar to this one and is the one that any reasonable individual would come to if ONLY given this limited context, but made sure to clarify that there is a good chance he is wrong and that nothing should be assumed until there is more information. Later on, he gets a lot more context from someone in the Apex scene who actually knows the full situation (who himself said that Thor didn't get the full context from his initial source), and is able to provide a lot better analysis. Ultimately, his advice even when given poor initial context was solid, don't count anything out, secure yourself for the worst case, wait for full context, and continue to assess the situation as you get access to more information. A majority of Apex players didn't know anything about Destroyer up until this disaster, so obviously someone who got randomly interrupted mid-stream to analyze a situation he has no context on, is going to be able to make generalized assumptions at best while waiting for more context.
It's a real missed opportunity to not show Thor all the clips of Hal, mande, and genburten getting abused by destroyer2009. Over the past few months he has aggressively aimbotted them dead. Sent a horde of 40+ ai all controlled by him. Gifted them thousands of packs each, opened packs on their account etc. Destroyer2009 has done so much more then this. This is just his biggest move.
If there were no chat messages from Destroyer, Gens career would have been in HUGE jeopardy. It wouldve looked really bad even though the people who actually watch him know he doesnt cheat. But outsiders like these guys would definitely suspect Gen as the cheater for sure
I mean scariest thing is if they are leaked like naughty search history or some, It's gonna be most problematic and traumatic for them. you know as a man it sucks
I guess most people don't remember towards the end of MW2 era when you would join a public lobby and someone hacking in it would give everyone hacks like speed/jump/walls and they'd stay on until you restarted your console. Not to mention all the accounts that got max prestige, all skins, tags and player cards from public lobbies.
It was a joke, Hal didn’t just download stuff people sent him. The cheater himself said it’s rce. This was going on for months before, some other pros were targeted as well with bot armies in game and Mande talked to the cheater directly. They just didn’t know he has access to their computers. The hacker was especially obsessed with Genburten, the first one who had cheats activated.
As a cybersecurity expert, I concur with what Thor was saying. Having full context of the situation myself, I would recommend uninstalling until further notice. Respawn will have to address this at some point and they will likely do so if they see their numbers dropping due to fear within the player base. Remember: just because it is not you now does not mean it cannot be you later. These kinds of investigations take time and could incur legal proceedings. Best to sit tight and wait than chance it.
People dont know this but Gen is on a controller. You cant just have a cheat pop up unless you touch your keyboard which is usually a F# hotkey or insert/delete. Gen is not a cheater.
5:45 Note: If this years Apex World Series operates the same as it did last year, the machines were provided by the tournament host or venue. If that's the case, I wonder what the implication would be since he wouldn't have had any way to download it
The thing that Thor seems to not understand is that everything we’ve seen destroyer do has not been for any kind of money or whatever. He basically wants to just pal around with pros in his own hacky way. I don’t think him developing an RCE would change his behavior to someone who just wreaks absolute chaos. However, out of the people who get their hands on the program after, at least one _will_ try to do that. That’s why I uninstalled the game.
That free download clip was a joke by Hal lol A lot of pros received free apex packs, 3,000 to be exact, which I believe is the source. If the hacker really wanted to and could, he/she would have given cheats to the whole lobby. My opinion.

its an RC in apex, can 100% confirm. Lets think for a second. Destroyer was able to program 45 bots to follow one player and try to punch him out, while also getting all of them into that players lobby (hal, gen) That has nothing to do with EAC. That's a deep seed zero day exploit somewhere in Apex's code that they dont know about. Plain and simple. It's the same reason why EAC doesnt ban cheaters flying around the map aimbotting everyone. (that have existed for 10+ seasons now?) its because the exploit is on the Apex side, and when you exploit it, apex is sending information to EAC that everything is A-Ok with the guy flying around the map like superman spin-botting people with an Automatic fire sentinel. If cheats like THAT exist in your game. No anti cheat in the world is going to save it. The game itself cant even understand when something is cheating. How there isnt a parameter to instantly ban someone who fires 7 sentinel shots in under a second and a half is insane.

Yes exactly, this level of power goes further then some client side anti cheat on your local machine. You woudn't be able to spawn bots and lootboxes and give remote players cheats.
ahhh titanfall.. cant get a game nowadays
yeah if it was just an anticheat RCE exploit on someones client he couldn't do server sided things so its through the game and its server.
These streamers were also credited thousands of Apex packs by the hacker which would suggest that whatever he is doing is in the games client.
PirateSoftware isn’t really aware of the Apex scene lore it seems
Do people forget when they (probably not destroyer2009) targeted everyone in Apex and had the menu for trios link to a website about Titanfall 2 being broken while still selling it? EA seems to be compromised, and they are aware of it but can't acknowledge it due to the potential fallout.
this is correct. being able to put thousands of packs on an account, programming dozens of bots to get into one players game and execute commands etc.
That's actual base admin level control. Man is turning live apex into R5
It wasn't just " two players" it was the two best players on the two best teams who are the only teams with titles in apex.
the worst thing that this happened is. NOW every streamer that has a sus clip they will just claim shit like this. It's a freaking joke online gaming
They need to play the full video. This does not show the full context. Hal also got hack to.
All of a sudden i feel the need to check my computer for compromise
Tufi was probably the best person when it came to breaking the game. He had the ability to cause mass havoc. He went above and beyond in terms of controlling apex servers
That clip was out of context it. Hal was downloading malwarebytes after the ALGS tournament. Not before.
If you played any public servers in cs go or cs1.6 when you join new server you download files , which could be same with apex. The hacker got into server
This needs to have all the context of the interview. This is before he got the context from Mande mid interview.
Literally have been waiting for Thor to comment on this cybersecurity horror show
I’m a CSS for a bank in Canada.
There has been past examples of hackers compromising Apex tournaments.
The other guy who didn't get the chat messages probably just had his text chat turned off in the settings.
This reminds me of the "save titanfall" situation where we were all basically locked out of the game for hours 3 years ago
If there were no chat messages from Destroyer, Gens career would have been in HUGE jeopardy. It wouldve looked really bad even though the people who actually watch him know he doesnt cheat. But outsiders like these guys would definitely suspect Gen as the cheater for sure
If Thor had backstory, (the packs, the likelihood of genburtons hack being an "intro" to hacking algs players,) I'd love to see his full explanation.
That free download was a meme clip, im pretty sure. I watched it live, he was really sarcastic.
I mean scariest thing is if they are leaked like naughty search history or some, It's gonna be most problematic and traumatic for them. you know as a man it sucks
Yooooo, the Goblin King himself, Thor!
So you're telling me, I have a chance to get banned if I play apex? I'm down to keep playing to release me from this prison 😂
Is it not enough to just not run the game?
Does it need to be uninstalled?
People forgot the hacker gave Gen and Mande over 1k of apex packs before this ALGS competition match. Even did that during their live stream.
This was the highest level of targeting specific people
People dont know this but Gen is on a controller.
That’s why I uninstalled the game.
it kinda goes beyond "pal'ing around in a hacky way" when you're literally crashing and postponing ALGS. lol
This same hacker a few weeks ago sent mande and hal 400 apex packs . Do you think he has access to there pcs now ?
Thor is quickly becoming a national treasure and im here for it 😆
Very informative hopefully this will help out with a lot of the misinformation about this topic
I have an invite-only lobby... random people show up in my lobby. Not a console/apex friend, or even a person I recently queued into a game with..
Loved the Bitcoin shoutout at the end.
Fire hideout and hire this guy
Yo is that Howard Stern Jr?
I like watching pirate software. He gets real into detail about things.
2:46 The boys are on that defacement vibe.
God bless them!
That free download clip was a joke by Hal lol
A lot of pros received free apex packs, 3,000 to be exact, which I believe is the source. If the hacker really wanted to and could, he/she would have given cheats to the whole lobby. My opinion.
they need to show what happened the 15 seconds before the clip that was shown, it didn’t show anything that happened
yeah what he said at the end of the video makes so much sense & is so true
i was playing yesterday i felt my aim sticking onto target without me even really aiming at them
It hit two of the biggest creators / names of apex
Best Part of this video is this guy whos presenting it to piratesoftware Mixed order of things and didnt explain anything thats happening in apex Before this Absolutly Clueless
I understand he's been in cybersecurity for 20 years but Idk if he knows how BAD Apex security is it's probably the worst in any multiplayer game
U fell off
Destroyer gained RCE capabilities when he send them packs and they nopened it triggering a line of code opening a hole...almost sure
Destroyer2009 must be on cloud 9 and scared for his life today 😂
considering the fact he actually may have crossed a line. he better hope hes in Belarus like he claims. If hes anywhere in the US, dudes going to be in cuffs within a month. The moment you start throwing the weight of the US government at a problem (feds likely involved already) It's going to collapse. Google Lulzsec lol.
How ironic that it's the 2 teams that have won every Apex world championship 🤣🤣
Anyone who’s initial thought is that Gen was hacking - their opinion is immediately invalidated.
This guy's voice is therapeutic asf 💀
Should really have given him all the info.... Should have shown him the other people that had this done to them in the exact same event.
Bruh I thought only old people click on the fishing downloads 😂
I love this hacker guy's voice.
Should have watched the rest because he goes on to say how Apex is compromised.
It did not happen at the same time, game back to back
Thor calling Gen a hacker after it was cool
Dude he needed more info alot nore ppl were affected giving apex packs bot spamming ect
damn, johnny depp from "blow" knows his stuff
Surprised to see Thor featured here
They're Both multiple LAN champions, moderated...
Big piece of context
On hals stream after this incidident, reps mentioned he scanned his pc and noticed a virus.
I'm not even gonna bother playing Apex until Destroyer gets handled LUL You kidding me? This is a huge problem not just for pros, but every day people. If he had access to a person's full PC, imagine when he sells that and really garners attention
You shouldn't play until Respawn gets handled. Destroyer is the hero here.
@@universe74 until he puts it into the open market for others to take personal info. I get it, he’s not the only one, but he’s one of them and it doesn’t excuse the bad behavior. He’s not a hero.
Love the guy not knowing hal has been #1 or #2 (short period) in apex his entire career (also life of apex) lmao
they both have the most braindead take on this situation despite having no context at all
do you know the best gymnast/graffiti artist/ vfx artist/music producer/ tetris/ mortal kombat player / etc in the world? You understand that apex is like 1 spec of sand in the whole beach, compared to the rest of the world. People like Him dont follow this stuff. Why would they?
@@iFranOne If I were giving my 20yrs+ professional opinion on a situation regarding the gymnast/graffiti artist/ vfx artist/music producer/ tetris/ mortal kombat player / etc in the world, i sure as hell better know who that person is, and what the context is before doing so.
Thor thinks Genburten and Hal are just random players playing in a random tournament that accidentally turned on their hacks and its case closed. Aboslute braindead take.
@Sapreme finish the video, listen. Use your ears. Also, this was is an interview/questionnaire and went exactly how they go. Are you 12?
@@iFranOne i wont argue about knowing ppl or some stuff, but context matters and just hearing about 2 cases about this called destroyer actions in just single day certainly is nowhere enough to conclude nor gain information if something was hacked in the past month or year lol
the hal download clip was him downloading computer scanner
Reminds me of the good ol Broomop PSO days.
its an RC in apex, can 100% confirm.
Lets think for a second. Destroyer was able to program 45 bots to follow one player and try to punch him out, while also getting all of them into that players lobby (hal, gen)
That has nothing to do with EAC. How there isnt a parameter to instantly ban someone who fires 7 sentinel shots in under a second and a half is insane.
hal was downloading a virus scan tool in that clip.
it wasn't prior to the tourney, but it does feel careless how he said that
Didn't he do that afterwards??
Should i uninstall it from steam?i also have the finals installed, can someone clear my mind?
God bro someone needs to fire this guy from their cyber security job. It doesnt take a multi year hacker to see that the hacker got access to one of the system of the pros and was able to pull their clients though the ip from ALGS private server. Like this is embarrassing to watch
Whoever on chat why are you giving Professional Hacker misinformation? 🤣 They made it seem like they really download cheat and cheat on live to thousand of player🤣
Thor on a Zipp video!?!?!? What the heck lolololol
I already know the security dude at respawn or ea has got Thor in his air pods working on this.
someone shoulda given this guy the lore of destroyer and what algs is lol
This dude’s voice is a legit radio voice.
