There is still some good sized businesses in Grand Forks. A big newish Interfor sawmill & a Fire Insulation Plant, where I designed Natural Gas Systems in the mid 2000's.
Mr. Volcanic Brown, of the Volcanic Mountain Mine - said that "he would have no banks, no churches, no schools. Just four railroads coming from all four directions." Wow, what a character!
