recommend EVERGLOW (에버글로우) - 'FIRST' MV. 'First' Won best M/V at the AAA 2021. Everglow just make good music so you can't go wrong with any of their M/V's .
She is pure Indian classical singer! Shreya and Arijit also practices this type of raga sangeet, and for this reason only they can sing all type of songs! This is the base of Indian song
Neither Shreya or Arijit has training and class like her.
@@papanchat but they knew their basics or fundamentals of Classical music!
In Indian classical music a series of musical notes on which a melody is based and which expresses different moods for different times of the day
There are thousands of ragas based on different moods, timing and weather which are developed over the centuries The origin of Ragams in Indian classical music dates back to 3rd and 4th century BC. she was doing raga bhimpalasi indian music is very complicated if you learn indian music you can term yourself as master in music it's a deep ocean
Oh thank you so much for explaining this all to me ❤️💯
She is like godess of indian classical music ❤❤it's very difficult...💥✌
Kaushiki Chakraborty is an Indian classical vocalist. She is the recipient 2005 BBC Radio 3 award for World Music in the Asia Pacific category. Like her so many classical singers and vocalist in India. India is a great country. I love my India and I am proud to be an Indian. Love from India ❤️ 🇮🇳 🙏
This is Indian classical music - the basis of Indian music.
This is like nothing I've heard before, amazing ❤️
Hey,
Thanks for covering this. Kaushiki ji is one of India's finest classical musicians. Just so you know, such performances are not rehearsed to a script. These are sung impromptu on stage. Let me explain. This piece is based on Raga Bhimpalasi. A raga is a combination of musical notes and is sung in one scale for any given composition (some compositions may have scale changes). Similarly, the rythm is also set for either the entire piece, like in this case it is 16 beats. It can also vary with portions of the composition. This is not a lyrical. It is note based. In Indian Classical music we have ascending and descending 7 musical notes just like Do Re Me...These are - Sa re ga ma pa dha ni (ascending) and sa ni dha pa ma ga re (descending).
Raag Bhimpalasi is a pentatonic raga which goes like - :ni sa ga ma pa: ni sa (asc 5) and :sa ni dha pa ma ga re: sa (des 7).
When Kaushiki ji sings, she sings keeping in mind two things, the notes for ascension and descent are aligned to the above structure of the raga in all possible combinations (there are more technicalities, perhaps beyond the scope of this platform) and they get set into the beat pattern (You'll see the tempo increases or decreases based on the number of notes she sings per beat cycle). The same notes are sung in the above combination, mostly across 3 octaves of the selected scale. Such performances can go on for hours and usually last for the entire night at times. The singers do not think and sing. They have practised to a level that their throat (vocal chords, larynx, diaphragm, lungs etc.) develops a motor memory and can intelligently churn out the right notes and form a melody like a musical instrument. (#Taken)
This is the essence of vocal (or instrumental) training in Indian classical music. Each and every sound the performer makes is an independent musical note! If you see any of her interviews you will know how seriously she takes music, for this kind of music to be mastered they start at around age 3-4 practising 12-16 hours a day like a monk .She's the daughter of Pandit Ajay Chakroborty , Master of classical Music who was also her teacher.
Keep going, cheers..
Thanks brother! For explaining
You have amazing knowledge of indian music 🎶 🥰
Btw___ are you also learning classical music?
Very well described. It seems you also have some sort of mastery of Indian classical music
I have learnt classical music but only for 4 years .Carnatic Music ..but being brought up in Mumbai I have exposure to different Genres of Music including western .
The world is just getting to know bits and pieces of Indian arts , science culture and civilization. .
The world get blown the things u can't even imagine.
The age of 5000 years Plus plus Indian civilization is just revealing . And it isjust started
She is the legend ❤️❤️❤️ Maestro 🙏🙏
❤️
Till now what u saw was contemporary singing
Many contemporary singers like Shreya, arijit,Sonu etc. Do uses classical elements in singing
But this is pure Indian classical
❤️
It is most difficult genre in music. It is a saying that if you learnt Indian classical music , you sing sing all types of songs which this perfect control on voice and notes. It is so technical. Arijit, Shreya and Sonu Nigam are trained in this genre. That's why they are highly versatile singers and can sing all types of songs.
When are you reacting to Vinland saga ops that show/anime is the perfect show/anime for you it meets all of your preferences def recommend it and also it's music is phenomenal and it's made by the same studio as Aot
Might be coming sooner than you think! 👀❤️
It takes 10 15 years of practice to hit such notes and then consistent music experience will keep you this level ... She is legend as her father and learning since age of 5
This is the power of ancient pure Hindustani Classical Music.
Hey dude... Thank you so much for you made reaction vdo on this link...

Plz keep it up... Want more reaction vdo about Kaushiki Chakrborty 🙏🎼😌
❤️
Yes she is incredible ❤proud to be Indian
Thanks for covering it. Kaushiki is great India Classical singer and this piece is truly master piece. BTW at 5:31 she as asking the tabla player to slow down a bit. (in hindi she says thoda). If you will listen very carefully you will know the tabla player changing rhythm a bit. That is why these performances are great because these are sung impromptu on stage.
Actually in this video she is demonstrating how to perform a specific raag ( Indian musical note)
This is classical Indian style. She is performing a "chota khayal" which means "small idea" when translated.
I've trained myself in this style for decades and understand it well.
I can say Kaushiki Ji is probably one of the best female vocalists in classical style that we have today in India. Her talent is a true inspiration to the next generations in india. She has worked VERY hard at this since her childhood and for me is always a pleasure to listen to.
Kaushiki Madam....Thank u for ur talent, skill and most importantly your dedication to one of our most ancient arts.
Aapka bahut aadhar aur sammaan se bhara mera pranaam. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is Indian classical singing...it's very common...many movies have songs that are using this classical tone.
Let me just say that She is a Hindustani Classical Singer. She is highly regarded as one of the finest with respect to Classical singing. It would be better to first understand the culture and concepts of Classical Indian Music such as Karnatic and Hindustani. I can understand you getting gobsmacked after listening to her. There is common saying within India, if you master Karnatic and Hindustani classical music or singing then any other art form is a cakewalk.
*Coke Studio* has recently merged 2 Indian male artists with a female Kpop group. It's really good, Next suggestion:
- "Memu Aagamu" by Allu Arjun, Armaan Malik & Tri•be (Kpop) presented by *Coke Studio*
I didn't know this! Oh thank you Veronica ❤️
This was a great reaction! ❤️
She's singing Hindustani music from North India. My mom teaches Carnatic from South India which is very similar. In carnatic you start out with basic lessons that teaches you how to sing the notes and put the thalams (hand patting). Eventually you learn larger and more complex lesson plus krithis (songs). Finally at the end after a while you learn to improvise in the ragaams (scales) you've learned.
Raag is a concept found only in Indian Classical music. They keep on learning. It's endless, a life time mission.
And one life is not enough...
When you enter one Raag you actually enter a jungle. You go deeper and you come to know that a huge part of the jungle is unexplored. Your quest starts here but unfortunately you have not enough physical strength to explore ahead. Your age is not on your side now.
this is climax.actual performance is usually around 40-50 minutes.
Indian classical music needs a lifetime dedication to learn and perfect.... Usually started from childhood.... Please react on 'Mahesh Kale live from Melbourne concert'... Best wishes...
It's Not Just music It's A great Medicine to Mind.
More than 10 times I watched this program of kaushiki g, & today also I enjoyed ( mata saraswati) goddess of music.
U have pronounced it damnn correct. Love u
This is hindustan classical music and it takes a lifetime to get anywhere close to what she's doing. There are videos of her practicing as a child with her father and now with her son. These will give you an idea of what it takes.
that's pure Indian classical music... not commercial because not everyone like this music but it is definitely the very difficult type of music to learn and sing.
Absolutely remarkable Kaushikiji 🎵🎶🎼🎙️🎤🎧💯✔️🎹💜💗🙏🏻
She is Indian classical Hindustani singer of Patiala gharana (style or system)
There is a video where young kaushiki chakraborty learns the craft of hundustani classical from her father....please watch that if you want to know what it takes to get here...
Arijit and Shreya are Kids compare with Kaushiki ji. This is pure Indian classical music.
5:31 she smillled and said dude you are but slow cuz Indian classical music works in Tandom the accompaniment also has to keep pace with the singer when it goes slow or fast she said thoda which means little slow in this case
Lovely video
There's this classical band called agam they are rock indian fusion
Hey I'm from India. This type of singing is called Raag. It's a traditional type of singing.
This and many other Divine Arts Passed down and evolved in that holy ancient Civilization to the highest ❤🎉🙏
In India this is firstly way' to conet and thank God firstly and tan a way of expresssion we are the father of classic
This is pure Hindustani Classical Music
Don’t know if you’ve ever reacted to Diana Damrau as The Queen of the Night from Mozart’s opera the Magic flute. Her performance from the Royal Opera House is particularly stellar. Check it out!
I haven't but would be happy to check her out ❤️
You are too good and smile on your face 🙂
This is only possible with 10 to 15 years guidance from very recognized and respected guidance (Guru)in very desceplined environment. Along with this hours of daily practice is done to get the mastery over voice control.
Bloodywood is an insane Indian metal band you gotta check out.
Appreciate the heads up ❤️
@@GOTGames Most of this band's fanbase is in Europe and USA so they constantly tour Europe.
They are unique in terms of fusion of Indian classical music with heavy metal.
Their best songs are "Jee vera " and "AAJ" .
Please do one on 'garaj garaj jugalbandi'. No one has done it so far..you ll be blown away
Classical music.. on hike....👍
You have just touched the tip of Indian Classical singing. You have just started the journey.
Check Rahul Deshpande and Mahesh Kale next.
Hopefully you'll graduate to Bhimsen Joshi and other greats!
U missed it... it happened in London in October 2022.. it happens every year... Indian Classic
Sir, what you are appreciating now is an end product of 14-16 hours of practice/ day for several years and continuing even today .
Howdy. I came across your video on the Eagles singing "Hotel California" and you got recommendations of good singers who were drummers (eg Phil Collins). One of the greatest female singers of all time (voted #94 of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time by Rolling Stone in 2010) was a drummer. Karen Carpenter (with her brother Richard) of the Carpenters had multiple #1 hits and a Grammy winner in the 1970-80s was an accomplished drummer but became the front singer when her singing talent was recognized. She is among my 6 most favorite female singers of all time (other 5 are So Hyang, Morissette, Angelina Jordan, Lara Fabian, and Leah Salonga, all whom you have reacted to!).
Elton John called Karen as "one of the greatest voices of our lifetime". Paul McCartney said Karen had "one of the best female voices in the world-melodic, tuneful, and distinctive". Please react to "Close to You" by the Carpenters, where she plays the drums. You won't regret it.
Thank you for the heads up my friend! Another one I'm happy to check out 💯
recommend EVERGLOW (에버글로우) - 'FIRST' MV. 'First' Won best M/V at the AAA 2021. Everglow just make good music so you can't go wrong with any of their M/V's .
On the list ❤️
The great lndian artist ❤❤❤🌷🌷🌷🙏🙏🙏
Listen to Indian classical music sung by Bade Gulam Ali Khan & Onkarnath Thakur - artistes from the 1950s/1960s. Their voices encompassed 3 octaves!!
Sir, it is not just her expert singing but the musicians who accompany her. They cannot afford to make even one mistake which will spoil the whole rhythm. These ppl can play without even practising together.
Please listen to Mahesh Kale performing at Melbourne
Check out the south Indian progressive rock/classical fusion band "Agam". They are one of the best in India. You can check out "Mist of the Capricorn" as a first!
You may want to check Pandit Venkatesh Kumar India classical vocalist.. powerful voice
Well sir in western world a young kid of 20 years becomes a musician. In India a person learns and practices under the guidance of guru for 20 years then becomes accomplished. And this is all extempore. She sings a raga which has pre defined notes. She uses only them in prescribed ways. It is all divided in beats and the tabla player may never have accompanied still he can do it for the first time as he plays a pre defined taal of 16 beats called trital.
*SHE IS A LIVING GODESS OF INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC*
Also you can listen to Ranjani - Gayatri sister's Darbar video..
We are still waiting for your reaction on Lea and Rachelle duo Movie in my mind. Lea was the original who sang this. 😍
Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh are capable of doing these things. Because they are very young, from the age of 4/5 years, they continue to train for these tasks. They have achieved such qualifications by training from a young age..
Male Indian classical vocalist you should listen are Rahul Deshpande, Mahesh Kale.
Stunned right..😁😁.. now listen to her father who himself is a master of music..most respected PANDIT AJAY CHAKRABORTY and her little son too who also sings like his mother..
She is not Bollywood, she is a classical singer, a gem of Indian music and daughter of Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty.
Bollywood is mostly bad stuff but for pure bliss and peace of mind, one must move on to Indian Classical Music.
React to Bhor Bhaye by Shreya Ghosal. You will definitely masmerised by her classical runs and higher notes
Fun Fact : Most of the compositions are extempore. They do practice the overall outlay of the raaga and its ascension, descension etc.. But its not like she'd by heart these arrangements
She is great classical singer in the world
You might have realised, that the scale is the just scale in most Indian singing (equitemporal would be jarring to the Indian classical ear). It could be why Western listeners often notice a purer note being hit in Indian classical singing. This recital is from darbar music festival in London (happens every year).
Getting microtones correct - despite the speed - is a key part of Indian singing. It’s why she also strums an instrument (swarmandal) that is tuned to the particular scale - or rather a convention called the bhimapalasi raaga -which requires you to ascend through "I,III minor,IV,V, VII minor and descend while (possibly) including all the seven notes. What she’s reciting is actually the Indian solfege itself for the most part (Sa - I, Re - II, Ga - III, Ma - IV, Pa - V, Dha - VI, Ni - VII). You might catch her saying the phrase sa-ga-ma-pa-ni-sa at 7:33.
She's free to improvise with this convention so she does what she likes (structurally) but she must also come back to the start of a 16-beat cycle saying the punchline-ja-ja-re-mandirwa (wa at the starting of the cycle) as well. This improvisational style - which developed in medieval India is called khyaal (
This is Indian classical music form known as "Hindustani". This type of music is practiced in Northern part of India. Likewise, the southern part of India , there's another kind of classical music form called "Carnatic". Hindustani music belongs to "Hindustan" - that's present day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Carnatic means "ancient". By and large, both forms of classical musics have lots of similarities and some differences Most of these kinds of musicians undergo a rigorous training with guru (teacher) for at least 7 to 10 years.
Prateek Kuhad -Live concert mumbai❤
Still hoping you'll do a reaction to Lovebites " Empty Daydream ". Incredible song and performance. Every reactor to this live performance I've watched say this is their favorite Lovebite's song and performance. ( probably because of the vocal harmonies ).
most Indian singers go through this type of classical training and then go on to develop more personality to their voice. Arjit and Shreya has gone through the same training.
Pure classical
This is classical singing. They start with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa
listen to fossils an Indian rock band...song name - aro ekbar chalo fire jai
She is doing this more than your age.
Good question: how do you learn something like this. There's video on CZcams, where you can see the child kaushiki practicing with her father. 🙃

Hey watch "Mere dholna" song it is Mesmerizing.
This is classical Indian music - she learned from her dad, Pt. Ajay Chakraborty who learned from his guru -- it's thousand years of music that got passed from one generation to other. Bollywood music is nothing in comparison with this
Man, I gotta thank you! I've known her for so long, and honestly this one's her first performance I've actually listened to.
More to the point, lemme just break it down to my own thoughts here. She was most likely trying to showcase a 'raag' or mood from the india classical genre. Lyrics aren't that important in such a demonstration, carrying the mood over to the audience is the primary goal here. Much like chords in guitar, these 'raag's would later be used in actual compositions. Now I'm not familiar much with classical music, so correct me if I'm wrong please.
You can check divine he is a rapperand he is too good
She is part of God Saraswati
Fyi. She isn't playing any instrument by herself. That is just the magic of her vocals...
Try listening to the late Kesar Bai Kerker . Another Indian legend of yester years . Kausiki though very good is but a pale shadow of hers
