  • Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated in a media interview on the evening of May 29, "Taiwan is one of the most important countries in the world." This remark caused a significant stir online and became a hot topic. Surprisingly, up until now, the Chinese state media has not openly criticized Huang, and the related topic has not trended on social media.

Even if China succeeded in reverse engineering the latest GPU, they still wouldn't be able to replicate it due to the immensely complex chain of processes involved. Just like the US edge when it comes to aircraft carriers, the know-how is accumulated over decades and cannot be replicated simply because you know what the ship, or in TSMC's case the GPU, looks like.

The CCP plans to leverage quantum computing and AI, so that they can take over the world. China is wasting an enormous amount of rare materials to create EVs so they can dominate the market, the world is already knee-deep in a recession. So many EVs are getting dumped and rusting away in storage yards. China is also producing large levels of steel but no one is buying. There´s something called compound interest in finance.
    Its the same thing as compound investment in a business.
    At higher investment+passage of time+a knowledge based product, you get technological complexity beyond what you can reverse engineer without spending billions to trillions of dollars. Nvidia since its existence has spent trillions on their chip design and manfacturing.
    Any being that cannot be described or understood is basically a GOD.
    Nvidia, AMD, and a few others (ASML, TSMC) are GOD for Chinese tech espionage.
    You have to spend half a trillion to understand their silicon to product pipeline.

  • @lbochtler
    @lbochtler Před 11 dny +8

    its possible to theoretically reverse engineer an nvidia gpu, but doing so requires cutting edge technology and funds only the US military could theoretically afford if they would stop spending on anything else for a few years. So, have fun with that.

      I suspect that would be less expensive and time consuming to develop an entire new family of processors than copy one....unless they get their hands on the blueprints, which the CCP is trying to do by any means.
