  • The church of Santa Marcellina is located in the countryside beyond the motorway that connects Turin, Rome and Milan (Italy). The Muggiano district was once an autonomous municipality, later becoming part of the city of Baggio and finally officially part of Milan. The bell tower has five highly tuned bells, based on the diatonic scale of F sharp. The bells were cast by Roberto Mazzola in 1954 and they still ring exclusively with the strings reaching to the base of the tower, with the possibility of using a mechanical keyboard to produce melodies on major feast days. The church was created on 23 December 1898, replacing an earlier small church from 1646. The current building was completed in 1911, presenting simple lines in exposed brickwork and embellished by the presence of a semicircular rose window with polychrome stained glass.
