Does it feel like Ethereum is a way bigger part of David's identity and sense of self worth than it is for Vitalik's?
I feel like Vitalik would be perfectly fine/content if Ethereum went away (okay if something else came along)...while it feels like David might an hero (everything has to be connected back to ethereum in some way).

I think Vitalik consciously tries to create that separation to keep in line with the values of crypto. Satoshi went completely anonymous to achieve that separation. Vitalik can't do that... But if he overly asserted himself as the leader of Eth, and made it clear Eth was his and was completely connected to it,. it would detract from the decentralized values in crypto itself. Also it gives off the impression that he's not worried about anything other than building the technology. I also believe he truly is like this, and isn't just trying to create the illusion he is this way. He's pretty easy to read, he can't hide his emotion if he tried haha... I see him as quite humble and selfless, and really makes for a great leader for this industry especially. People talk trash about projects, or people they don't like in this space, but everyone, even ETH opponents, alll seem to have a mutual respect for Vitalik, and I think it's because of everything I just wrote that causes people to like him/be drawn to him. Anyway, not debating anything you're saying, it's just a good point. I think the average ETH investor identifies with ETH more than Vitalik does haha, let alone David.
Vitalik, you should have invited some Esperantists. I think there's a lot of potential for network cities to give Esperanto the boost it wants.

Itâs pretty exciting to see a proper crypto cult however Iâm not completely sold because you didnât cover if everyone had to sleep with the leader or if it was opt out. I might be old fashioned but Iâm not looking to make any decisions if I were to join.

THE ONE TRUE RING to bring to be destroyed is the need to earn a living. Jesus Christ, when will people see how obvious it is? As long as we must compete with each other to earn a living or as long as we do not meet people's needs UNCONDITIONALLY, we are doomed to war with each other to avoid being the loser in the game of king of the hill to decide who survives. I'm starting to get tired of how ignorant even smart people like Vitalik are in this sense. It is very very straightforward.
If we must fight to beat others to meet our needs, we must beat others. If we must beat others, we must beat others even if it requires we throw ethics and the environment under the bus.

lol you don't understand at all. You think Vitalik cares about getting rich? He has more money than he'll ever need and has made it quite obvious over time how he is not interested in material things. Also, crypto and Ethereum is all about bringing financial equity to the world, not widening the poverty gap. It's literally the opposite of what you narrow mindedly assume.

Most people that go for 2 months are probably not husbands or wives with children. children are the backbone of any civilization. Zuzalu has civilizational engineering ambitions but at the same time makes an event that excludes family men and women, the producers of civilization. Zuzalu needs to win the hearts and minds of family oriented people. this won't happen by excluding them through weird 2 month format.

I hear ya. I like ethereum hold some for sure and will continue to, but I havenât heard Vitalik talk for over a year and this is NOT what I was expecting from him. I have a ton of respect for the man, but how did âthe AI peopleâ come out of nowhere to him?? Yikes. They kind of came out of nowhere to me and I have no background in computer science. He does still seem extremely humble and much less excited/optimistic than Ryan
